    Great video again. I love how yourl present yourself. I use to have this camera and you make me want to buy another one, but I have a feeling a new one is about to be released. It really renders images beautifully so doesn't need improving much. I would certainly compromise a little of it's compact size for a basic EVF.

    Great shots and even better editing. Good use of colour. Just trying to get my head around mixing RBG colors with curves to achieve the artist colour wheel split complementary palate I am trying to achieve. It is not straightforward but I am getting there. I am off to Cambodia next week and the GR3x will be coming with me. Unfortunately, my partner thinks pointing a camera at strangers is rude! In amongst Temples and wildlife I will be trying to shoot as much street as I can. Although, not as much as if I were on my own.

    • @AristeidisSfakianos
      @AristeidisSfakianos 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I know what you mean. For me, it comes down to experimentation most often. One piece of advice I got about that was not to bother with all Lightroom options at once. HSL/Curves/Color wheels are kind of reduntant. If you adjust colors with one, the others are not necessary. They can make things quite confusing. I hope you enjoy your trip and shoot whatever makes you happy (as long as it is allowed) ☺️

    • @youphototube
      @youphototube 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@AristeidisSfakianos I would like to take some photos to the next level by applying ,for example, a split complimentary, triadic or complimentary colour scheme to a photo as an artist would to a painting. With the right photo this may mean a small shift in the colours. but large shifts are possible using and mixing colours with curves. I do not mean making a selection and simply raising the blue channel on the curve to make it more blue because this only works for the lighter part of the image and tends to make a light blue. To make a good blue you would in the red channel pull the middle of the curve into the cyan (reducing red) then also in the green channel pull the middle of the curve into the magenta (reducing the green) this will then yield a good dark blue. Having a proper understanding of how to mix RGB color with curves to achieve the traditional artistic colour wheel (red, blue and yellow RBY) and its complimentary, triadic and complimentary triadic schemes is a very powerful tool to have in your arsenal. I would not but it would be possible to colorize a black and white photo using this technique, even in Lightroom. This control of colour can not be done with HLS , point colour etc. This course is very good - Color Grading Masterclass by Nucly. Very experienced professional with a expert knowledge on colour.

    • @AristeidisSfakianos
      @AristeidisSfakianos 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I feel your understanding is quite good. With experimentation and with practice you've got that in your pocket! I am not a colorist and I always look for ways to improve in that segment. I will check your suggestion! Thank you!

    Good photography requires one enormous truth - showing up ! How many great photos I've missed by simply not making the conscious decision to go out there and start shooting when I should have. Everything was perfect, except my flawed thinking. Perhaps it's laziness, perhaps it's ignorance- whatever it is, it's cost me dearly. However, I'm not going to be too hard on myself as there's some absolute bangers I've managed to capture as well -- Sat.

      I couldn't agree more Sat. The first step in taking great photos is actually picking up your camera and going out! We have all been there! I am glad you see the positive side. At the end of the day we do it to enjoy it not to get more stressed! Keep shooting!

    i had this camera. for 1 week. what a rubbish build. small and flimsy. i sent it back. af is shit, snap focus works at small apertures, camera favors high iso instead of faster shutter speeds, noisy at high iso, jpeg is nothing to die for, those recipe did not appeal to me, small battery, annoying retractile lens mechanism. a nightmare

      Thanks a lot for your comment and feedback. How I shoot depends on the type of scene I am photographing. Usually, on the streets I only hit one or two frames per scene. However, in very dynamic scenes like here for example, where I have to photograph a moving train, I prefer utilizing continuous shutter to make sure I get the best frame possible. Since, the camera offers such feature I see nothing wrong with using it. Again, many thanks for watching the video and for sharing your views.

    I love your emphasis on the imagery of photography rather than it being on the kit. Good photos in my experience usually involve quite a bit of thought and pre-planning or pre-visualisation. As your great photos demonstrate, good pictures are ultimately about composition, a sense of colour and balance, and of course they’re all about the nature of light.

    • @AristeidisSfakianos
      @AristeidisSfakianos 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Gear is important but the most important part in photography is actually being able to see the beauty around, and how you are going to photograph it. Now, if you have a camera that costs $500 or a camera that costs $2000 doesn't mean very much. You can compose a great shot with either cameras. You described it very well. It is all about balances and composition! Thank you so much for checking out the video and I am really glad you enjoyed it!

    Когда они начнут делать анамарфотные насадки, как sirui , только подешевле. Они же просто разорвут этот рынок ценой. Просто насадки, под любой объектив, под любого производителя. Кольцевые переходники. Другие именитые бренды делают в 10 раз дороже. Вот если в 2-3 раза дешевле сделают чем у sirui , вы представляете что будет с рынком.

    Right now I do most of my work with a Voightlander 25mm f0.95 on an Olympus em1x… so the lens is 50mm equivalent. It’s manual focus, so I’m not doing fast action. However, for landscapes, portraits, commercial, and even some street it is very capable. Beautiful results. Fun to use.

    Very good video and thoughts about Sony vs. Fujifilm. I bought a Sony A7 first generation back in 2014 and it was I think 2 years old model back then. Now, in 2025 I bought a Fujifilm X100 system and I can tell that there is a difference. Despite the years the first generation of Sony A7 is better in some occasions. I went with my Sony through 70s, 80s, 90s lenses, and ofcourse a brand new and modern ones. Maybe here the question for me especially is... what, how, and with what I want to shoot nowadays. I am impressed from the Fujifilm system as a Sony user for lets say almost 10 years, but lets put it on the table... the Sony system is one of the most fine tuned. I still did not sell my old Sony A7 for the same reason as you... I just had so many good moments with that camera. Fuji gain popularity in the years about their colours and what you get straight out of the camera without the need of post-processing, but now with brand new 2025 model of Fuji even the first generation of Sony A7 is still competitive somehow. Well... at last, it is fact that I am not touching my Sony anymore, so I guess the Fujifilm is winning in my case :) :) :) :)

      That is the point. When I got the XT-3 initially even the thought of going for street photography with the Sony felt out of place. That is why I completely switched. I switched from Nikon to the Fuji X-T5 two days ago, and this camera is amazing. I feel like this camera is teaching me photography. I also bought the silver version, and it’s beautiful, although I keep wondering if I made the right choice with this color because I read that it scratches easily. But then again, with a retro-style camera, it feels a bit silly to get a black body.

      I personally have no problem with scratches etc and I am not the most careful user. I am glad you enjoy it! That's all that matters!
