    I watched your series on growing these 4 plants and I'm amazed at the growth. What's even more amazing is the simplicity of your gardening regimen. Is there anything more to it than inorganic soil mix (peat moss, perlite, sand or crushed granite), mycorrhiza, Osmocote and 6-3-3 fertilizer? What is the purpose of the 6-3-3 organic fertilizer when you pot these? Is it to give them an initial kick until the Osmocote kicks in? I've been growing plants for about a year now and I have many more failures than successes but this year things are starting to pop and less and less plants are dying.

    • @GrowsGoneWild
      @GrowsGoneWild 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@do7229 not really much more to it. The key is the mineral based soil more than anything. The organic fertilizer is used to create some life into the soil in terms of bacteria and whatnot. Osmacote is actually what will feed the plants first as the organics take time to break down. Organics are considered complete as theirs probably trace fertilizers that are missing in osmacote, but they will wash out of the pots and you’ll need to add them monthly. I had the same issues when I started gardening where things just wouldn’t really grow. I started using Top Pot soil and everything thrives. It’s like day and night lol. If you haven’t seen the videos from Gary Matsuoka at Laguna Hills nursery, then I suggest you check him out. That’s where I learned about proper soil and container gardening in general. If you use an inorganic potting mix, it’s basically foolproof unless you are trying to grow something way outside of your zone. And thanks so much for watching!

    Nice trees, the leaf tips browning looks like the feeder roots are drying out a bit. Probably don't need fertilizer, but for sure add 2-3 inches of mulch (wood chips) or 5-6 inches of fallen leaves, that will help the feeder roots retain moisture between watering.
