Young man you should be extremely proud of yourself. I had to enlist in the Air Force to have an opportunity to attend college. I am curious why you chose NYU over the other colleges? I would have chosen Tufts or Carnegie Mellon personally. Instead I graduated from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks in 2015 just as I was retiring from the Air Force. Well done! You and your parents should be extremely proud of your accomplishments. How was your first year of college?

The thing with Ivy Leagues, to me is that they’re obviously prestigious, so they tend to favor students from schools with a lot of advanced class options. For example, at my school, the highest math class is honors precalc, and it’s only available for seniors. But at my girlfriend’s school, which is private, so she has way more options. She can take AP Calc junior year and then Calc AB senior year, which looks better for Ivy Leagues. And yeah, she’s said a bunch of times that she’s not going to an Ivy League, but I still think it’s funny
