I'm sorry Trail Ridge, you missed a BIG part/step. There are brackets that have to be installed into the door for the Tow Mirrors if the vehicle wasn't equipped with them prior. I see in your video the brackets are not present, so you should have installed them before installing the tow mirrors. There won't be an immediate failure, but months or a few years down the road, that tow mirror is going to destroy the door without the brackets.

Seen a lot of tonneau covers but never one with rear brackets like this.

Great video Curious if since the panels are all removed if there is any product where one can install any type of sound deading noise for noise control? These doors are tinney sounding and rod noise maybe could be lessened? Thanks

Really good video - Clear and concise! I particularly like the tip of adding some sticky to the socket so the nut doesn't fall down the trim! My sockets are magnetic and that still doesn't always prevent loss. The bad parts - Mirrors for my 2013 Expedition included "additional" wiring coupling (extensions?) that is not in the video nor explained in the flimsy included pin insertion guide that was in only one of the two mirror boxes - PLEASE put these instructions in both boxes, Murphy's Law guarantees that a new buyer will always open and install the mirror that doesn't have these instructions first! C'mon; it can't be more than an additional 2-cents to put an instruction sheet in both boxes... Anyway, I thought that this extra wiring was for fitment in another model vehicle, after all, the Green/Purple & Black/White wires are not already inserted because they need to go into different vacant inserts depending on vehicle make and model; right? I installed the mirrors without using these extra wire extensions; when testing the new mirror motor operation, they adjusted up and down but not left and right. After taking off the door panel again, I added these never addressed extensions and then the mirrors did adjusted in all directions. Hey Trail Ridge! Your Flimsy instructions need to include not only the stuff I mention above, but how about adding a QR code for this video because there are several TH-camrs that address this installation and they are not you (or nearly as good) AND... You claim to Warranty your product(s) but HOW DO YOU WARRANTY YOUR PRODUCT? There is NO product registration on your website, you do NOT furnish a phone number, email address, or offer any way to contact your company/customer service that I could find. After 30-days Amazon won't connect to product support. So how does your customers get assistance or warranty service?

Mentioning the sizes of the sockets needed would be helpful. Edit to add: I neglected to mention that the video was great. Thank you.

Be advised, these mirrors will only fit the Crew Cab 10th Gen F150/Expedition body type. Regular cab or extended cab bodies won’t fit

What does it look like when you are done?

Under the hood you show which fuse to hook into with the "pigtail" for the red wires, what about the other wires, which fuse do they pigtail into? And also, what do they control?

My mirror doesn’t unfold all the way. They’ve been on for 2 weeks. How can I fix that?

Thank you for the DIY video! I just watched it and did this, but I sped up the job by not removing the door panels and tying a piece of string to the mirrors electrical lead, removing the mirror, swapping the string to the new unit, then fishing it back through. Considerable time saver!

I noticed that there are "tow mirror support brackets available" if the factory mirros where not tow/extendable style. Do I need those additional support brackets to instal tow/extendable aftermarket mirros? Or can I get by without them? Thanks in advance

Tapped into those wires... no running lights, turn signals work great, and they also come on when brake pedal is pressed... Think you may have found the wires for rear!

Check and make sure you didn’t pinch them during the install and damage the wires

Ripped my old mirror off by accident, bought some of these upgraded tow mirrors, very helpful videw🤙

You can pop these off by removing the glass and un-unscrewing the four T20 torx screws aswell if you don't want to break your stock ones.

This is an excellent tutorial on how to replace the Xterra outside mirror. The freezing weather broke the electrics inside, so I bought a new one to replace it costing less than $50. I believe I could have replaced just the motor, but it's the same amount of work if not more, so I went with the complete assembly.
