    My bike starts and runs but splutters as if running out of gas at 4k rpms. I'm thinking fuel filter. Appreciate the video!

    You are one lucky guy that didn't blow the motor up with all that starter fluid. Thats crazy. Do you realize the internal damage you have already done?

    Never use starting fluid on your ducati , your immobilizer lights is blinking

      The immobilizer light blinks for something like 24 hours after the ignition has been turned on.

    Do a continuity check of the wiring under the tank that connects to your fuel pump inside the tank. Sometimes corrosion will cause the solder joints in the connection to break.

    That was a ridiculous amount of starting fluid to use. One quick burst into each is enough.

    Fuel pump was gummed up from possibly bad fuel or wasn't actually replaced as we were told. let soak for a few days in Carb Cleaner (making sure to partially cap off to slow evaporation and to replace when noticeably dirty from the crud breaking up).

    Figure it out? Low fuel pressure? Bad CPS? Were you getting signal to the injectors?

  • @paulvasilyuk
    @paulvasilyuk 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had the same issue. The culprit was a blocked fuel hose that lead to the first injector (Gas tank to injector hose). I would recommended removing the hose at the elbow near the injector and make sure that there isn't any debris present. If so, clean it out and replace the fuel hose. My symptoms prior to this was a weak, intermittent firing of the injectors when looking down the throttle bodies. My guess is that the hose pops off due to a clogged filter or a clogged fuel line. If you come across this issue then try replacing your fuel filter and checking for flow in the fuel lines. Hope this helps someone.

  • @DavStan

    I had a similar problem. Spark was strong, and the fuel system was fine. (Did have a petcock problem) The problem was two breather pipes attached to the bottom of the carbs had come off. Also the breather from the air box which the travels towards the bacl of the box which connects to a junction with the crankcase breather. Sometimes you just have to check all pipes and spend some time underneath the bike and inspect, checking all connections. Sometimes its simple..Good luck for people who own a dutcati monster.

    Had the same problem with my Ducati monster 1100evo only cranking when start but won’t fire up. What must be the issue to that problem, anyone?.. Gas is fine, Battery is fine. I don’t know what else to do.

    Hi, I had a problem with my 2006 monster 1000, it cut out like a power problem. I tried all the electrics and found nothing, i gave up and took it to the mechanic who found a fuel line inside the tank had fallen off the fuel pump. there was no way i would have found that, i had already taken the lines off to check flow. The mechanic checked pressure and found none, so then went to the pump.

    So what was the problem? Mine won't turn over. It tries but won't. Same bike as yours. Battery is good. Plugs are good. Fuel filter is new. It won't turn over. So what was the issue?

      Cristian Salas I’m having that same issue now. No matter how hard I push down, it’s still not flush. Did you figure this out?

    • @Megacatares
      @Megacatares 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Creamsteven I hope you figured this out by now, I put synthetic grease around the o ring that goes in the tank and around the tank lip, it helps the gas cap slide in better, then when screwing down the lil allen bolts, I also push down on the gas cap so it helps it seat, otherwise the allen bolts will sometimes push the cap back out.

    • @Creamsteven
      @Creamsteven 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      mega catares yeah I wound up figuring it out. My problem was how the black outer gasket was sitting. It had to be on the outermost lip, and it kept rolling into the channel. I didn’t realize that it needs to sit absolutely perfect in order for it to fit
