Got falsely accused of threatening a customer yesterday. The customer was a fat white woman. So naturally, even though I was vindicated and proven to be in the right. I dealt with a lot of gaslighting, but it mostly came from some so-called "friends." They would say a lot of things that would turn out to not be true or would mess with my stuff. My parents gaslighted too but luckily not to the same extent as those "friends."

This happened to me too. I stopped smoking years ago, but I remember once having bought a new packet of cigarettes. They are taxed to the hilt in my country and very expensive. Well, I suddenly couldn't find them. I searched everywhere, then eventually I found the unopened packet in the rubbish bin. I KNOW I didn't do that. Smokers don't throw away their cigarettes - they just don't. So I asked her why she threw away my cigarettes, and she told me to my face that she hadn't touched them and that I must have done it. I knew then that all those vague suspicions I had all my life that she was moving things, hiding things, and throwing my things away. It was all true.

I experienced this too.... and it's not just parent's but a lot of friends that I thought were friends did this to me too. stole toys, even had a basket ball in my basement and my best friend gas lit me that we stole his basket ball. My sister bought the basket ball years ago like in the 90s and he insists that this ball was given to him by his family member and I went to his house and stole it. Even though that never happened and he had no proof. He took it and I didn't care because I don't play basket ball. I am more of a hockey fan. Then he goes on and tells everyone I am a thief. Yet, others know I don't play basketball. My cousins and my sisters used to play it with my cousins as a kid.

Narcissistic people do this. It’s hurtful!! It’s not just gaslighting to make you think you’re crazy it’s also because you didn’t put your things where they thought your stuff should go. It’s control. Now I will say me having ADHD and a child with ADHD, I misplaced stuff a lot and blamed other people and my son did the same thing. Me knowing my kid would find what he misplaced within a couple of minutes. I never hid his things or gaslighted my kids. Just saying. I’m sorry you have experienced this with people you should feel safe with and trust.
