A tradition in St Elmo that a new flag is placed on top of Chrysolite peak each summer. This year Adam had the Honors.
Shout out to Paul, who I had sold the Scout to years ago. It has become a part of his family enjoyed by all. Thank you so much for updating me.
Your exterior door handles are 180 degrees backwards otherwise looks great

I'm still here ha ha, don't have any more Scouts and haven't seen this video for a long time. Just stopped in for a little visit.:) This was the project of joy. Hope its still on the road.
Hey Ron , the scout is still up and running. Fun story…my daughter “attracted” her boyfriend 8 years ago cuz of the Scout and they just got engaged.. he took out the scout and asked her in it. I will try and attach a picture.
Great job!!! My 65.has got a long way to go before its like that
Definition of labor of love.
How do you like the carburator ? Did u see an improvement
Scout II V8 chassis with modified slant 4 engine mounts... not sure why there weren't any alternatives to mounting the body support so high in the back for both end caps. I would have like to see the discussion on that as looking at a side step from Jegs doesn't really appeal to me. You really don't have any clearance issues... even mounting a Scout II tank should not have been very difficult. Otherwise, I really like a lot of what you did! Kudos!
I'll have to refresh my memory banks on that. It's been awhile. Maybe send some pictures if I find them
Owned a a 65 when I was 15 never finished it and sold it ,swapped the 196 out for 304 and painted it midnight blue, always been a dream to own one like that.
Hello ALL IH fans. The responses over the years have been overwhelming, thank you! I am writing because there is a second Scout that I have had the joy to own the last 26 years but as all things its time to move on. It is posted on craiglist with location of High Rockies. Check it out, 1979 Scoutll. It's a mild trail rig. I should post a video of it. Maybe. Thanks all
Love the sounds of that mighty Four!
My newly purchased 1961 International Harvester Scout. Key Largo Florida. th-cam.com/users/shortsIWPLCPyN8c0?feature=share
In July I bought my first International Harvester. It's a 1961 Scout and it's in great shape. I think we both live in the Florida Keys. I could sure use your knowledge. I have a bunch of questions. Maybe you would want to stop by and see mine.
Very nice 👍
Very nice
beautiful!
Beautiful! Very well done. Makes me wish I'd never gotten rid of the 69 I had. Miss it often.
Great job. Looks great. Got a ?. I have a 1980 196 and noticed you have 2 barrel carb on yours. Sounds great and are you getting more power with that 2 barrel setup. Where did you find the adaptor for the intake manifold and what carb is it. Really like what you did
Wow, outstanding job! Beautiful truck.
I just picked up a 61
Nice job! I have a few of those old Scouts myself. I figure I have enough junkers to keep mine going until I can't drive anymore...

I've watched this video so many times... It helps keep me motivated to finish mine. Thank you!
I have one that just got finished
That's Sharp. I wish I could find an intnl. Scout. I have always loved them. Born and raised in the, I'm an old country boy living in Florida now, and wish I could go home. Dreams don't always come true. Happy yours have. Awesome job on that one.
I had a 65 that I bought from an older guy who bought it new in Maine when he lived there. I bought it from him in 69 for $300. He had just put in a new wiring harness & a tune up. I drove the snot out of that thing for 2 years & sold it to a used car dealer for $350. It did not have a heater as it was an option & it had a throttle that came out of the dash, twin 10 gallon tanks.
Great music selection..
Sorry crap ass country music ruined this one.!!!!!!!!!

Ron, sorry to hear you sold the 65' Scout. I just purchased one last weekend and working on the long road to sand it down. Was wondering the colors you used on yours? I love the exterior and interior colors. Any help would be great.
Scott, if this is still of interest i can look these up from Ron's info he left with me. Paul Hands
Wish I had that kind of talent. Getting mine in a couple weeks I hope against all hope I can do half the job.
So pretty i could cry...
Hi Paul, Real glad to hear from you and that you are enjoying your Scout. Now you have another generation that will have stories to tell about there dad's Scout. You made my day! Best to you, keep it safe and have a good winter...Ron
Ron, what a great truck. It has been so solid and fun all summer. Took the top off, put in some more speakers and added a new backseat. Now I can't wrestle it away from my two daughters ! Great work. Paul from Massachusetts
+Paul Hands Paul do you have any more videos of this truck? I love that truck!
Thanks to all for viewing my Scout project. I made the decision to sell and it will have a new home now. I hope Paul has as many stories to tell as this old Scout has heard. I still have a 79 Scout that is for running up in the hills so I'm not completely Scout free. Best of luck to all and special thanks to Phil Coonrod up in Grant....
