Diesel Heaters - Orientation Deep Dive - Heater Mounting Explained
These lathes are a total shitshow. Built from parts from the reject barrel. I have the Vevor 7x16, and it is a total joke. After working on this thing for 6 months, it is going into the recycle bin, right back where it came from. I was thinking about trying to sell it, but I it would have to be just for parts.
Hi, very good video, I have a question: how long can you work with it and how much rest time do you give it so it doesn't overheat? I have a Dremel 4300 and it has broken down several times, they told me that I have to use it for a maximum of 20 minutes and let it rest for 20 minutes so it doesn't overheat, thank you in advance, greetings.
Everything you heard is true, its just jackasses like this is guaranteed to f it up
Death trap
Some people just LOVE to hear themselves talk. Then they think that everybody else in the universe needs to hear them spew on and on... and on... about nothing...
The whole thing should be indoors. Just the exhaust outside. Diesel turned to jelly, batterys fail in the cold. Also you are loosing most of the heat before it gets to the house. Also you can recover all the exhaust heat
What is the other lathe you have
Well done mate. Keep up the good work!
Dear amateur turners...gloves, long sleeves and no eye protection IS NOT the way to go....turning 101
I’m curious how well or if one of these heaters will run on a ups power supply being charged by a battery tender?
I’d be interested in seeing the oxygen content of the room during this test.
You sound like you understand this well enough to tell me if my idea is crazy or not :) Heating an RV, 35’ long. I want to have a chamber of coolant that is pumped through a couple different heat exchangers (aka radiators) in various parts of the vehicle. Thinking of modifying a standard diesel heater to heat liquid instead of air. Either having the heater partially submerged in the coolant tank, or making a container that fits around part of it. I’d also have a water-water heat exchanger for heating hot water, and an electric heater in the tank, and have the tank connected to the engine’s coolant loop. The biggest benefit of this complex arrangement is that I could have much more control over the temperature of air heating different parts of the RV, rather than blowing very hot air for a bit, then nothing. Not sure if this is a crazy idea. Just curious about your off the cuff thoughts. :)
do you know of a similar solution for heating water for radiant floor heating?
I have an e6 brand new and I tried adjusting the fan but nothing works. I got two and they both have the same exact issue. I’m really hating these right now
I need to upgrade my controller and eco to a programmable set due to elevation on a basic new Vevor model which one should I buy and where? Please advise and Do the fuel pump and blower motor need to be matched to the ecu and controler?
Well said Joel I've been having a Facebook argument this week about the heaters running on a wicking method and not under pressure and this puts it all to bed for me..🙂
Gradge..... That is all
Do you find those Oregon shutoff valves leak at all? I bought another brand at home depot and it leaked fuel on my snowblower immediately.
The Nikki carb on that Briggs is a royal pain in the a$$!! I hate it. What a dumb design. Any idea if theres an alternative carb that fits and will run right like a tecumseh carb?
I just thought the kinda solid hose was to reduce bubble building up. I love the green (orange) hose because it is easier, quicker and less joints to install. I still don't understand why there is no better pump yet invented to replace those annoying pumps. Your test was confirming some of my thoughts about the subject, thank you for this.
How do I change the app from metric to standard?
i might get a cx 601 n cnc that im an expd cnc mill guy small stuff med size and big stuff lookin to start a small shop myself
why didnt you get a busy bee cx601 ?

Can you do a precision boring job using a machine mounted in a tin tray on wheels?
You are some kind of patient, I don’t know if I could go through that much BS and still be able to smile. My hat is off to you. Thank you so much for making these videos. God bless you and yours.
Did you get it working reliably?
I like machining, show us how you square up the head, seen a dial indicator mounted.
How long will it stay square as the room heats up with the mill sitting in a tin tub on wheels? Joel needs to hire a retired machinist for 10 minutes. You are not born with the info needed to be a successful builder.
That’s a great deal through your link. I’m canceling my Lowe’s purchase,,,, thank you

Thank you for the tutorial…
Good job :) Now... will it work? *grins*
When using a snatch block doesn’t that multiply the use weight ?
I forget the rigging math of snatch blocks but I feel like you could do it, and for extra protection have a 2nd strap a try
@@Trevorkloida I think the weight is divided in half for each set of pulleys but you instead have to pull the rope twice the distance... or something like that...
@@AtimatikArmy I don’t believe it’s exactly in half, and still would have to de-rate for cable… but it’s a lot more than the initial capacity
@@Trevorkloida I believe it is in half, but not exactly, because that's not accounting for the additional drag of the additional pulleys. That is my understanding, but then again I know enough to be dangerous, so certainly don't take my word for any of this stuff!
I honestly don't care if the video fits in I'm grateful for any random videos you share. Your a funny guy 👍

Like Americans you consume yourself to death. Everything are very costly, do like the Chinese put money in the bank, never buy on credit, save up first , it common sense Joel
Use a HHO generator fed into your air intake, lower the fuel pump. It supposedly steam cleans from what hho Gen vehicle owners say. Use rain water
That kazoo music was the best part. Everything else was good but when that started cranking....I forgot that I had a purple handlepole on that sxr. I hope that engine isn't a PITA
HAHA... I put that music in there and told Andy "people always complain about music anyway, so I'm using this silly song" Yeah... the ol SXR is still making cameo appearances with it's purple hand pole. I also hope it isn't a PITA ... I assume it will be perfect with zero problems🤣
@@loweredexpectations4927 LOL, surrrrre it will!
Lol i do IT like year ago 1:1 like you
Are you using used oil or new stuff ?
@@loweredexpectations4927 I will describe in detail: - two tanks, one with clean diesel, sometimes even with diesel cleaning additive, which was only used to light the furnace at full power for 15-30 minutes - second tank mix 5l of cooking oil 5l of diesel + 1l of petrol, but I never made the mixture 100% the same, I always poured everything in by eye :) After I finished the work, I switched the fuel to clean diesel with a cleaning additive and after half an hour the stove could be safely turned off. Now I bought a 10/12 kW water power plant, I wonder how it will work
@@AkiWataru I see... well done !
I would have just lifted the whole thing by hand, easy.
I feel so silly now... Why didn't I think of that 🤣 You should hire yourself out as a consultant / problem solver. Kinda like one of these AI nonsense things, and just call it "Ask Jason" Oooo ... or "Life Made Easy" That's a good name.
Good to see ya back, Joel. 👍
Thanks! I appreciate it.
You're nick name should be "Clever"! You always come up with very clever, well thought out solutions to whatever problem along with all the variables associated with it that you are dealing with. Also very articulate and well explained to your audience as well. I like watching just to see what solutions you come up with and I always get a kick out of it! "Clever"is what always come to mind!
Thanks, Tim! I have a lot of practice getting myself into trouble and needing to find a way out, haha. I often enjoy taking a non conventional approach to things, and sometimes (often) I learn something along the way. I could have just bought a heavy duty cable hoist, or asked Vevor for one, but this also worked.
@@loweredexpectations4927 I appreciate your out of the box and always clever thinking. It's unconventional, yet well thought out, usually very effective and I think overall, intelligent. Never second guess yourself, keep doing you 100%!
@@AtimatikArmy Thanks man!
Almost the season for more diesel heater nonsense
Yeah. I'm not sure how much of it I will be able to do / post this winter. Survival being priority and amusement being a close second. The engine build I'm doing is something that I owe someone, and the milling machine is a substantial investment that I'd like to finally finish.
@@loweredexpectations4927 Diesel heater videos cool... Joel Arsenault engine build video 10X cooler!
@@AtimatikArmy Haha... Yeah, many people agree with you.
@@loweredexpectations4927 i hear ya. Although I will miss the diesel heater inflatable suit antics.
Good to see you in the garage joel!
It feels good to be doing something other than just trying to survive, haha. Good to be playing in the garage.
Thanks for the video! I’ve got a wallas heater I’m trying to replace in my boat with one of these Chinese diesel heaters and I already have the exhaust system from the wallas going out vertically through the roof. Any recommendations on how to vent one of these out vertically through?
I'm not sure what sort of setup you currently have, but I suspect a through wall exhaust fitting would be the best option. You can then install a 90º elbow to stop water from getting in.
Hey cnc!!
Yeah... eventual CNC, haha.
@@loweredexpectations4927 It's all a process. Just nice to see you doing something with it. I posted a few videos of my machine running some parts, If you wanted any inspiration
@@lanceulbrich6249 Nice ... I will check that out right now.
Can't even get mine to start ? I pressed the 3 minute prime then press heater on but it doesn't ignite? Just goes off ?? No idea and it's brand new .. any info would be greatly appreciated 👏
It may take several primes to get the fuel up to the chamber ... If you can't see things, it makes it hard, but it takes about 20 seconds after the fuel makes it to the hard line on the heater. You can prime it a second time by disconnecting power and following the process again. Too much priming may cause issues as well, so I generally disconnect the line so that I can see fuel coming out, connect it and then allow it to prime for another 15 or 20 seconds. Hope this helps.
What a great solution to an annoying voice command on the Vevor heater, thank you very much.
You're welcome. Thanks for the comment.
If I want to reduce the diameter by 0.1 is it precise enough?
I assume you mean .01 or .001 (one thousandth of an inch) This depends a LOT on what material and what tool you are using. Also, how much stick out you have and if your work is supported with a live center or not. But yes. On regular mild steel, this will remove one thou pretty accurately as long as you have a reasonable tool and reasonable setup.
