While I liked the movie, what I never understood about any movie where aliens infiltrate Earth, is why they want to do the same things we do. Why would an alien want to go to an office job and work like that? And also, what happens when they finally replace the entire human population? The whole premise of replacing us doesn't really make sense.

Awful how addressed and touched women sexually without permission, like when the co-actress steps into her boufriend's taxi, and the co-star kissing Tootsie just because he wants to, without caring about her setting her border.

Another appearance in the film is Frank Stallone's lead guitarist Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi). I think Paramount was banking on "Staying Alive" being a big hit since Stallone was successful with "Rocky III". Originally, "SA" was going to be a darker film. "Tony" was going to be a strung out junkie battling between the drugs and being a pro dancer. If they kept it gritty (with the original "SNF" writers), that might have been an interesting film. But "SA" is a guilty pleasure for me. Good video!

Actually Whats up Doc was a screwball comedy, a 70s screwball film indebted to earlier 30s comedies. Bogdanovich knew Howard Hawks who he had interviewed when he was writing about film prior to becoming a director. No surprise that he essentially did this riff on Bringing Up Baby, Hawk's comedy.

@@staciaonmovies A suggestion for your consideration is a little known hidden gem (in my opinion) of a 1961 movie directed by John Frankenheimer called " The young savages". Starring Burt Lancaster, Shelly Winters, and Telly Savalas, among others. If your not familiar with it, it's a film that has "West side story" overtones without the romance, but twice the grittiness. I highly recommend viewing this film if your not familiar with it, but in it's original form without the censored dialog. It's a powerful film that I personally can relate to because I grew up in the same time and location of where this film took place. Although there have been a few artistic liberties taken, I can assure you the attitudes and prejudices were spot on. I can see from your videos that you have a real love for movies, and I commend you for pursuing your passion with this channel. Your new to this, but I want to offer some encouragement by saying I think so far you present an honest and un-biased assessment or your reviews. Stick with it, I think you'll succeed.
