Pinkpop '93.. my first festival. I only have fragmented memories of it ( wasn't completely sober 😆) , but hearing and seeing this brings those feelings I had then right back. As close as you can get to a time machine.. Thelonious monster were class too.

like so many college students in the late 80s/early 90s i was a music obsessive with hundreds & hundreds of CDs that I'd get at Tower Records & used shops.. one of my very favorite was Lamprey.. such a brilliant & beautiful masterpiece of an album.. thanks Carol & BS from the heart for being immortal talents 👊💛

Mijn god, wat een nummer.....De contrasten; het trekt je helemaal leeg (1.18). Dit moet je snoeihard draaien. Een extra reactie op cd is het echt waanzinnig, maar als ze het in real moeten spelen kan het het 'rammelen' of heel goed zijn. Luister Dust Bunnies.

Seconds after Peter winds down what is IMO one of the most face-melting guitar solos in rock history: "Neither of us is what you would call 'technically skilled guitar players.'" Speak for yourselves, Peter Visser on the coda to "Brain Tag" is in my list of favorite guitar solos ever, with Dennis Dias on "Your Gold Teeth II" and Robert Fripp on "St. Elmo's Fire." The pacing of the song, the way Peter teases some cool licks that turn out to only have been warmups before the all-out onslaught. In the 30 years that I've been listening to (and watching) it, it's never failed to put me in the moment and make my head dizzy.

Carol's Hofner and Peter's red SG. I remember them well 30 years on. I always wondered how the SG's neck and headstock could survive the amazing acrobatics Peter put it through on "Brain Tag." Maybe a video about how to solo while on your back with your Converse in the air? 🙂
