Welcome back! This week we look at my top 3 'end stage' exercises I give to my patients with MCL tears or strains before they return to sport. This isn't to be completed while the injury is still in the acute stage. Remember; if you feel pain when you're completing the exercises, then you are not ready for them yet. I’ve watched a few of your videos (Thanks Lakey for the referral) and the explanations are great! I had L4/L5 laminectomy in January and am finding these really helpful. The cat cows feel different where I had the procedure vs upper back. Doesn’t hurt but just doesn’t move independently like upper back-as if L3/L4/L5 move together as one. Does that sound normal? Would love some post-op tips for rebuilding leg strength. It took 8 months of failed injections before insurance approved surgery so I have a lot of work ahead.
100% the mobility through those segments will always be limited but not totally immobile. My best advice would be to keep maximum mobility through the hips and lower thoracic.. that way those lumbar segments aren’t being over utilised. Hope that helps a little. I’ll try and upload a few exercises that may help you in the next month 🙌 keep at that rehab 💪💪💪
