Here's a pretty soft lap around Laguna Seca in our GR Corolla. Lot's of time left out there in the car/setup for sure. It was the first time at this track with a new whole new suspension setup as well so we took it pretty easy to avoid having any incidents. Best lap time was 1:42.8 Current setup on the car: @Eventuri Intake @SXTHElementEngineering front mount intercooler @boostedperformance_ E4...
Boosted Performance GR Corolla - Lapping at Heartland Motorsports - Gridlife Club TR Class
มุมมอง 598ปีที่แล้ว
Best lap of the weekend was a 1.49.8. There was more time in the car at this track but I didn't push for it since we really didn't want to risk wadding up the car when we are just a few weeks out from the Laguna Seca event. The big changes to the car for this event included the @VerusEngineering front splitter, side skirts and rear spats as well as their brake cooling kit. Performance wise, the...

You are definitely right, before i bought my GRC, it sounded great on video. Then when I purchased one, the exhaust note is so understated in the videos i havent seen one yet that does it justice! This thing sounds amazing! Only thing i dont like about the stock exhaust is the drone zone when im crusing around 2k-2500 rpm.
How do i get the auto blip for the gt86 manual?
i have a friend that wants to ttune his gr86 bbut its auto , will this tunechip still work
Is this Eventuri intake smog legal in California...??
Worthless video
QUESTIONS yall do same day dyno tune?
Question. So a flex fuel kit isn’t needed if I wanted to run E85? I could just have it tuned by y’all correct?
My Corolla GR with intercooler upgrade and hot and cold side pipes and Mustang dyno made 303 HP and 310TQ. Everything else stock 2nd pull made 301whp 307tq.
Can you use ecutek with automatic gr86
The best video showcase this intake.. gonna order mine soon :)
Nice time! 1:49 for me according to my instructor this past weekend in our HPDE intro course in lead-follow. Give or take a second on either side since he said his Porsche lap timer is based on his inputs.
Useless video
I was recommended this via TH-cam app. This video would have blown up if it had more information. Who knows, maybe it will blow up with all the frustrations of lack of info
Man that was AWESOME to watch!! I was watching the livestream but I dont think i sww your car. I did see your name on the timeboard though and got excited! Those squirly moments were aweosme 👀
Yeah, you gotta be near the top of the pack to get much coverage. Maybe at some point. :)
Are you running 50/50 bias?
Yeah, I have found track mode is the best for road racing. 30/70 is more for being on a loose surface like dirt/gravel/snow to get more rotation.
@@boostedperformance_ Have you had the differential overheating problem?
@@300zxdriver nope! I can run 3-4 hot laps in the 20 minute session no problem. I do cool-downs and everything is good. The issue happens when you are just hot lapping and really working the diff with no "break" for over 15 minutes but that's hard on tires/brakes/etc anyway so that's not really a good approach. The whole overheating thing is also actually calculated by the car based on hard and transmission temp. Its not even protecting the rear clutch packs, its protecting the transfer case up at the front. So, again, if you do some fun laps, some cool laps and more fun laps, you can be out for a full session because it will not calculate that the transfer case might be getting to hot.
@@stuffandthings3959 Thx for reply

Should’ve made this as a youtube short, I was expecting numbers and list of mods 😅
That was a let down. Give me something! Like the numbers perhaps? 😢
No numbers.nothing?
Great video and good meeting you this weekend at cars and coffee! Keep up the work and I’m excited to start slowly adding stuff to mine. Great car and yours is put together nicely!
Just got a GR this week. I love racing at Mid-Ohio. Used to be my home track. Most the mods sound good. You are running both the stock and aftermarket spacers in the rear? That's a bit scary. That's with long studs too ya? I assume wheels with the proper offset aren't available? For brake pads, Pagid are what all the Porsche guys run, but are mighty expensive last I looked. I've had great success with Porterfields "house" pads (R4). The Corolla has massive brakes for its size, and doesn't need anything super fancy. Even the stock pads work pretty well on track. For really heavy duty braking, I like the Raebestos ST43 (in the front, and the R4 in the rear) which wear great and work great from the very first stop.
Do you recommend changing the plugs and what what do you recommend going with vs stock?
My race rom did not have flat foot shift. Is this a feature from the tuner or should it have been included from EcuTek?
We need to see the SAE and bot STD dyno sheet.
SAE is generally about 2% lower than STD. Next time we do anything on the dyno, I will include both. Customers typically don't care about the difference and ask for whatever will show the highest number so we we provide that but we use the same correction for base line and final numbers to so the correct gain. Which correction is used is not nearly as important as doing that and also use one of the corrections in general.
@@boostedperformance_ people want to brag about how much hp they got, especially when dynos can be manipulated. I want to see the power under the curve; the VE is what I care about when it comes to tuning.
@@touayaaj84 I could not agree more! We do not tune a peak number, we very much tune for area under curve, smoothness, and longevity before anything else. We respect the limits of a given setup and leave some margin in the tuning to handle hard use since they dyno testing puts the car into very favorable conditions compared to say road course use for 15-20 minute sessions.
any known issues about oilpressure? want to buy one and not sure if thats true what some people say or post..
Kevin Vo!! ✌️
Newbie to tuning here. Is there a way to lower/remove the high rpm cold starts as well? Planning to purchase UEL headers in the future + tuning from you guys
Yes this is standard in all our tunes! :)
Great. ordered mine a few days ago. Excited to get it!@@boostedperformance_
do these tunes take away the cold start high rev?
They sure do! Check out this awesome video here to see how it sounds vs stock on our tune th-cam.com/video/0knSwDMbu94/w-d-xo.htmlsi=S1WzZmBtYnmSNg7L&t=278
Thanks a lot! @@boostedperformance_ I'll definitely be picking one up.
they need to find a way to disable that stupid 911 calling feature lol. Any time someone has fun in there GR it calls 991 on them.
Have you been able to remove rev hang?
Yes, we have rev hang removed in our tune!
I Remember this build from the Nasioc days. Inspired my efr8474 build. Glad to see the evolution.
Thanks! Yeah, she's been around for a while now. Hard to believe the car is 13 years old now... don't know where the time goes but glad to be getting it back to a useable state finally :)
where can I buy the ecutek kit? I searched on the ecutek website and I couldn't find it for the grc?
It closes the throttle body because the airflow model needs some massaging
Yes, basically we need to raise the boost/airflow/load/torque limits and then we are good!
Im not only impress but in full awee
How is his 266? Factory is 300?????
300 is rated at the crank, 266 is what gets to the wheels after drivetrain loss.
Is that some kind of data logger communicating with you? Or something in the car calling out lap time?
awesome vid!
Of course it thought you got into an accident. How annoying.
Do you think this car is reliable for everyday use? Not racing everyday
I feel like this is a dumb question but can you turn off traction and stability control on certain maps?
No, sorry, we can't force those things off with the tune, they are controlled by a different computer in the car.
Do I have to tune the car after eventuri intake install?
Does this eliminate the annoying rev hang on these cars?
What do you mean with rev hang? If you mean that the rpm goes slow down then your engine is too cold, warm it up drive it like 5minutes and its gone
Yes, our tune does remove the rev hang.
What modifications were on the GRolla for this track day?
Intake, FMIC, oil cooler. Our E40 tune and the Verus Brake cooling kit
Keep these coming. Would like to see what you offer in the future for a well developed oil cooler kit and track focused ecu tuning. I recently took my GRC out for its first track day and I definitely can see how much potential it has, but you are addressing all the small things I noticed as well.
Thanks! Going to work on more videos once we’re back from Cali. We took the car to Laguna Seca and now we’re spending some time out here. We’re definitely working on the track tuning and hope to wrap up the oil cooler kit soon as we can also.
Got a question the stock air box has a gap in the throat before the box. I believe its for Bernoulli's principle to increase air volume. When i removed just the throat from the grill to install new eventuri. I drove to store and saw a significant loss in power. [I was sent gloss not matte carbon so I stopped install until correct intake arrives] my question is would the forced induction benefit from Bernoulli's principle?
Can you guys remote tune yet? Thanks
Not yet, hopefully very soon!
Had mine for 7 months now and it’s a blast!
what’re those wheels?? i need them
They look like Advan TC III’s
Shoulda worn pilot sport cup 2’s
The class we run requires a spec tire which is the Falken RT 660. Not my favorite but it holds up pretty well for longer lapping sessions.
Well done explaining the features but I do have one question, does the map switching and launch control feature work for A/T?
Thanks! Map switching, yes but not launch control. They can’t do launch control on the style of transmission the auto cars have.
