Hey, tennis player here, when you are taking a forehand think about keeping the left hand there and really finishing the shot. And when you volley try to stay structural don’t chop or swing as you volley because it will become muscle memory and later on will affect your tennis game.

There is a lack of a consistent use of a Split Step on both sides of the net. For you a 3.5 it’s not unexpected to see. Most 3.5 players haven’t learned the importance of a Split Step yet. For a 4.5/5.0 player not executing a Split Step before every stroke is very puzzling. Even if he was taking it easy on you, a Split Step is normally something that’s so ingrained in the process of playing tennis for a advanced player that it would be harder mentally to force himself not to do it. The 5-7 set was as good as a win for you. A 5.0 would rarely play a set that close to a 3.5 unless the opponent was a very attractive member of the opposite gender.

Your opponent was a solid 4.5 or thereabouts- anyone who says 4.0 has really never seen a 4.0 match on video (USTA tournaments are best to get a sense since they're actually barred based on rating). I would suspect in the US your rating would be between 3.5 and 4.0 and probably closer to a 4.0 at this point and your opponent is a solid 4.5 player

Eugene’s groundstrokes are on point in term of technique imo. Ball’s launch angle is high and dip real fast at the end. If he is at his best i think he deserves 5.0. Can you please share info about his racquet’s specs and whether he customize or not. Thanks a bunch

Hi im currently using yonex RD8 a very old model for years already with a 16x19 string pattern and 320 grams (strung). And i want to update it to percept. I am torn between 97d and 97h. I want 97h since it has the same string pattern to my rd8 but im worried that it might be too heavy for me. And as for the 97d the weight is ideal but its string pattern is 18x20. Will that make a big difference from my current rd8 racket if i switch. Your suggestions would greatly help.
