Hi everyone,
It’s been a couple of weeks since my last video as I have been a bit under the weather with the man flu. I’m back again and as rambly as ever.

love the look and sound of this bike and people seem to love them but there are lots of problems with sticking speedo needle and like you said condensation in the dash, I do think royal enfield have had enough time to iron out these issues in new bikes.
You also have to take into consideration that there are probably thousand of people who have had no issues with them, it's usually the people with problems that are the most vocal. Having said that - the speedos are definitely a weak point it would seem. Hopefully they have rectified the sticking ones (which was an issue with the cardboard background lifting I believe) but I can definitely say that haven't fixed the condensation problem.
Boots are a sore subject with me. I find it infuriating that I cannot find proper boots with decent leg protection in my size at a decent price. The only time I have ever come off the bike (touch wood🤔) was a couple of years ago and I would not have walked away but for my old, almost knee-length, boots. I slid along the road with my leg trapped under the bike and the boots "taking the strain". There was not much left of the boot but, apart from a sore ankle, I was fine. Two years later and I am still trying to find decent replacement boots. I am on my 3rd pair of "flea-bay specials" which look the part but are too short and are falling apart after 6 months of use.
@@ccooper8785 I know how you feel. I’m really particular about boots. I’m so glad I managed to find a decent pair that I like. Hopefully you’ll find your perfect ones sooner rather than later as well.
Modern Royal Enfields are overweight. The new 650 Classic weighs 243kg wet, whereas the 1959 RE Constellation 700 weighed just 183 kg dry. Even allowing for 90% fuel (it had an 18.9-litre tank) + oil, the Connie came in at 203 kg, a full 40 kg lighter than the current Classic offering.
@@chrisweeks6973 Crazy isn’t it.
I hope the op goes well when you have it done and look forward to more videos.
@@ralfhoffmann2487 Thanks Ralf. It’ll probably be in a month or so. Hopefully it’ll go smoothly and I’ll be back on the bike within a few months.

Good to see you out Beena. Tennis elbow is horrible, no wonder it gets you down. I'm looking forward to seeing the new bikes soon, the Bear has kind of an honest, handsome charm I think
@@GlynOC Yeah Tennis Elbow definitely sucks. I get what you mean about the Bear - it’s not trying too hard and I like that.
Great Ramble Beena, glad your over the man flu/COVID. I've traded in the Triple & for my Birthday next week am taking delivery of Barry 'Bazza' the std Bullet! After I've run him in, I'll get a Hitchcock's DNA filter & some bar end mirrors! @@davidcaleb9424 Thanks David ❤️ You are going to love your new Bullet. Just remember that it will take a few hundred miles for the engine to loosen up and release some horses. Don’t be disappointed when you initially struggle to hit 70mph 😉
@BulletBeena thanks for letting me know. Then I'll enjoy the slow potato and be happy. Then yes, once it is broken in I'll just enjoy it more haha
If you want to put a little more pep in Walters step than maybe check out Himalayan Tools big bore kits. They have a range of options in 410 and 500cc kits from around £450-600. Moto Morten has a vid on the installation and initial run-in of a 410cc kit.
@@andytopley314 I’m not sure whether I’d chase performance from Walter necessarily, especially when he already needs a sixth gear. I’d probably be more inclined to buy a more powerful bike instead. Thanks for the info though. It’s worth considering I guess.
Re. Classic 650: It's 'based on' the Shotgun (and Super Meteor) and I found those felt a bit 'modern'. The 650 twin is a good engine, but doesn't have the character of the single and the bikes are very heavy for what they are. I would probably have loved a Bullet 500 single, but it doesn't seem RE are going to do it, so I just ordered a Bullet 350 yay! Can't wait. Yeah, I guess it's a little underpowered, but only a very little and apparently it loosens up quite a lot over the first few thousand (how many have you done?). I might eventually try a DNA filter as well, but really, being 'a little underpowered' is part of what you buy with a RE 350 single, I guess.
@@Disposalist Yeah the 650 range is really overweight isn’t it? The price to pay for all of that metal used and the budget price I guess. A shame because if the Bear was around 200Kg it would be really tempting. Yes the 350 engine does loosen up nicely and it is absolutely fine for 95% of the type of riding I do. Mine started to loosen up around about the 500-700 mile mark and I’m a couple of thousand miles in now and it’s a peach. I added the DNA filter kit around the 500 mile mark and that made quite a difference (especially to the sound). My final upgrade was the Hitchcock ‘s decat pipe and that gives it a bit more volume to the exhaust, without making it too loud and obnoxious, as well as adding a little bit more pep to the engine as well. It would have been nice to see a new Bullet 500 (maybe using the new 450 Sherpa engine, although it would still need to be air cooled to keep it more authentic). You’re going to love the Bullet 350 though - it’s an absolute belter of a bike. I adore mine and can’t see me ever selling it.
@@BulletBeena excellent. I've heard from one of two others that the engine may keep getting better for a couple thousand more miles! Can't wait can't wait!
We have a herb here in Greece combined with olive oil (Σπαθολαδο) it will fix the problem with some rest too .the secret is to have a rapt bandage below elbow to keep the muscle in order ...anyway ! Lovely chanel I love the bullet I want to get one some day...
@@Bluesman76 Thanks fella. Unfortunately we are way past any kind of medicinal remedies. I’ve had injections and physio and the only solution is an op to cut part of the tendon out. I do use the pressure bands below the elbow to try and help.
I remember those 911 Carrera Porches. We used to call the tail fins pic nic tables.😂 I hope the operation goes well for you and your elbows.
@@simonchilli2088 Yeah we did used to call them picnic tables didn’t we? 🤣 Thanks fella. I need to try and tear myself away from Walter to actually get the op done 😉

@@Kyldrake quite possibly. There are lots of free tests that you can take online to see if you may be. Depending upon the outcome of that you would need to speak to your doctor to arrange for a professional assessment.
I would love RE to put the Guerilla 450 single engine into a classic/ Bullet frame!…a Classic 450 single with going on 40 BHP..not a lot less than the 650 twin range!! ….great ramble…loving the Bullet pal…as a “boring” heavy Bonneville Street Twin owner , the lightness in comparison and aesthetics are really appealing!….look forward to the next vid 👌😎
@@Tommy-Atkins As long as they kept it air cooled then I agree that putting the 450 engine in the Classic would be a great move.

I live in Canada, and for the last 4 months, I've been trying to find a Classic 350 for sale. There are none for sale in my province (Ontario) and the dealers charge $7600 plus taxes and license fees, you are close to $9000 out the door. For a little more, you can get a Kawasaki Eliminator and for a bit more again you can get a Vulcan S. The Royal Enfield 650s are all close to $11000 before taxes, putting it out of range for comparable bikes with better performance and features. So, despite my love of getting myself a Classic 350, I've given up and will probably buy a Suzuki Boulevard C50 for $3000 used.
@@jjstuartonwriting8150 Sorry to hear that mate. That sucks! Would it be cheaper to buy one in the US and import it? Maybe a lightly used one?
Insane prices . Here in India you can buy one for about 2500 usd plus some taxes. Which still cost less than 3000 usd
@@qwerty83484 Luckily I didn't buy a Classic 350 and waited because now I'm going to order the Classic 650 as soon as they take orders for the spring!
Given the riding conditions here in this part of Oz, for me it could well be the Guerrilla.
@@chrisweeks6973 How about the new Bear?
@@BulletBeena I think that, given my stage of antiquity - 79 - the Bear's 216 kg is likely to be too heavy for me. I could manage it it now, but not so sure about that as time progresses.
@ It is a bit of a weighty beast isn’t it. It puts me off at 52 years old.
Good bikes, fairly simple, reliable, cool looking, enjoyable to ride and priced such that people can afford them. And all that I’ve learned on TH-cam 😁
Spot on!
Not so popular but for me 1:Continental GT650, More popular 2: Classic 350 (no coincidence that I ride both) as you mention the Bullet is very similar. 3: possibly the Shotgun.

I used Cooperb Motorcycles in Eastern Maudit. It's a bit of a trek , but it's a great ride if you take the backroads. They are a really good dealership.
@@BulletBeena Thank you :) I will look them up! appreciated buddy
Morning Beena, thanks for the video! I bought a Classic 350 in August, Halcyon Black (Mars Bar!). Agree re the Meteor, not my style of bike at all. I passed my bike test in July at the tender age of 66 and was keen on the Shotgun. Had a test ride on it and pretty much decided on it but went out on a Classic and fell in love with that. Much more manageable especially for me returning to bikes after nearly 50 years! Wife was happier too. That said I’m looking at something bigger for next year and was hoping the Classic 650 would be the ticket. Got to say I’m not that impressed with the spy shots though…
@@simonhutchins5704 Welcome back to the biking world Simon. I know what you mean with the Classic 650 spy shots. I also found them a little bit underwhelming.
Re. Your riding position comments: Yes! Feet forward you very quickly get used to and I find very comfy, but it is very different. Who the heck would buy a Classic on the strength of riding a Meteor?! (Have to add though that the Meteor really isn't very cruiser-ish. Not very feet-forward. Much more like an old custom classic. Was sorely tempted, but prefer the Bullet). Even the Classic and Bullet are a different enough position that I greatly prefer the Bullet (the pegs are an inch or two further forward, the bars a little higher and the seat allows you to shuffle back a little more). And the Huntr is very different - a more sports stance. Riding position is everything to me and I also had dealers offer me different J-Series models when I wanted to try a Bullet. Doesn't fill you with confidence in a dealer when they think that's fine.
@@Disposalist No it really doesn’t fill you with confidence. RE bikes may be cheap, but it’s still a good chunk of change to spend on something without being able to actually try it out.
Feet forward you lose handling quickly
Glad to see you enjoying Walter, mate. Lovely to have some days to ride left in the year. I tried to find myself a maroon Bullet 350 recently and there are none! Everyone has sold out and RE have no stock. The story is they are selling all the Euro5 models in advance of the Euro5+ coming along, even though the only difference there is a slight mapping change. I'm sure the more realistic reason is there will be more significant changes that may make the 'old' model less popular, ie. LED lights on the newer models is one thing I know is happening to the Classics. Another rumour I heard - independently from two dealers, which is why I give it any weight - is that there may be a Classic on the 450 platform coming along... Doubly weird since all the rumours thus far were that there was a Classic 650 coming... Would love to hear from you or your viewers if anyone has any other info... Cheers!
@@Disposalist Interesting. I would have thought that the type of people buying the Classic models would prefer to have non LED lights to make them more authentic. I guess a Classic 450 would make sense considering the new models using that engine. They’d have to keep it air cooled though, as it would ruin the look and heritage of that line if it was liquid cooled. For that reason alone I feel that the Classic 650 might be more realistic.
I bought a Hunter a month ago. I had a sit on every bike. When I sat on the dessert style Classic the dealer referred to it as the Rommel model. 😮
How are you liking the Hunter?

@@BulletBeena Back in the early 1960's thermal socks hadn't been invented, nor full-face helmets, heated grips or gloves. I has the latest type of helmet, a jet-style open-face, with Mk.7-type split-lens flying goggles. Being frozen on the bike was part of the deal, back in the day!
@@chrisweeks6973 We're spoiled these days ;)
Morning Beena, great to see you & Walter out braving the cold! What a Glorious location, stunning drone footage & always a fab choice of music! Always love your self called Waffle, shame we didn't get to see any Kites or MAWNIL'S, but at least we saw some mole hills which made up for it! 🤣👍😎👊 Keep the vlogs coming, love your channel, all the best Dwayne
Thanks Dwayne ❤ The MAWNILs are definitely a rare breed. You don't get many sightings of those around here 🤣
Morning Beena! What a lovely place to take the drone (and Walter!) - gardens that are just perfect for aerial viewing. Walter seems to be running well and darting into corners beautifully what's the mileage at now?
It's a stunning location isn't it. Mileage is still pretty low at 1600 miles. The weather has been so crap for so much of the summer and now into the autumn that I haven't wanted to get out more on Walter. Here's hoping that we have a drier spell for a while so I can get some more miles under my belt.
I'm pretty much sure I'm going to get a Bullet 350 if I can get a reasonable deal on my existing bike. Unfortunately, the second-hand market is poop, it seems :( Next year, I suppose. I wouldn't keep both. Seems extravagant, though I concede the winter bike argument, I intend to not be 'precious' over the Bullet. I bike can be maintained through winters, you just have to clean and protect them. Re. Commuting on a retro: I never did, but don't see why not, if it's an easy-to-ride bike. I used maxi-scooters (Essex to central London!) and having no gear changing was great. The fairings were great. But if you're going to have a geared motorcycle, it just has to be pleasant to ride. Smooth and easy. Comfortable and manoeuvrable.
Doing my full licence in autumn, then I plan to buy one of these by the end of the year and ride it from London to Vietnam in spring, wish me luck!
@@haywoodjablomi2529 Wow that’s a baptism of fire for a new ride. Good on you mate. Have a great adventure.
