For all watching this, the ribbon cables need reinsulating with electrical tape if you start to get erratic behaviour on the buttons. The faders and X faders can still be ordered through the European Distributor or resellers in Europe.. Ribbon cable is EOL X(

These older bikes can be a challenge when it comes to parts.

The vaccum petcock is most of the time a pain , better to have a manual type.

I hve a XJ 750 1981..parked now for 5years due to my health issue... It's worked perfect... fitted oil cooler being hot in my country...unfortunately parts are tough to get in our part of the world easily...hoping to put it on the road once I get fit... Managed to get full carb kit and a set of good carbs...on ebay.. Will overhaul the used carb too. The ones in the bike ...at times fuel overflows...plus the fuel pitcock is an issue ! I live in Dar es salaam, Tanzania !

I just had to do this with 3 faders on mine, the faders stopped working less than 2 years after buying it which is kind of lame but it was very easy to find a full service manual with a search engine and order replacement pots. I ended up destroying one of the solder pads on the first fader (rightmost when looking from bottom) but luckily, the faders even though they are dual gang only use a single gang and the damaged pad was the wiper for the gang that is not used. Pleased to report it now works as it should. This was also my first time soldering since i was in school and the first time i serviced any of my own expensive stuff, It's definitely not as hard as it seems.

Anyone have any tips for getting that cue knobs unstuck when taking it apart? Mine in stuuuuck in there, I'm surprised i haven't snapped the board yet trying to free it

Haven't used that hardware yet, and I've never used the on board beatgrid adjust in engine with my Denon. But this is a great video, and I wish a speedy fix for your sake. Question: does it recognize your edits if you save them from the engine software on a laptop? I know that wouldn't address your problem, but, I'm curious.

What kind of glue do you use to attach the sole?

Petcock and fuel floats need checked

Thats gas in your crankcase dont crank the motor agian or you risk blowing it up

No way you could use that glue without it getting into the strap area..why didn't you show if you could move the straps after gluing them?

Thank you 👍 I had a different issue with my MK2, sections of the controls would stop working randomly when I setup at a new gig. Lucky for me, simply detaching and re attaching the ribbon cables completely fixed it for now. I expect it'll have to be done again sooner or later. Hopefully this will be useful for someone with issues. I don't fancy having to totally strip it like you did 😱

Hey there, two years into the future I just wanted to let you know that you saved my butt! My beloved APC40 MK1 Developed lots of random MIDI data on slider number two. I watched your video, and decided to take the risk of spraying Deoxit On the slider before attempting to replace the slider. I already had some Deoxit, but I would not have thought to let it dry before turning on the power. With your guidance, and a bit of luck, I didn’t have to take the entire unit apart. I waited 24 hours for the unit to fully dry. I just tested it and the sliders worked perfectly. Thanks so very much for posting this video. You did some good in the world!

Well done! I have the series 1 version with similar problem. Thankfully spraying Servisol Super 10 and lots of sliding up and down seems to have fixed my problem while \i was watching your video. It must have been your vibes of good intentions from your efforts to help others fix the problem!

Fit airbox before engine.. Built one before and doing a japanese grey import xj400-4 seca(pre xj550)
