So how has it held up over a year later?
It’s still going strong. No rips or tears of any kind. Still keeps me dry. I only wash it when it needs it. So, yeah, it’s doing well.
And cutting your rails and putting the end caps on clearly worked. I have the Ford rails so not needing to buy that. Coupon in the email so heading to buy the cargo basket.
Ours has been great, I hope yours is as well. Enjoy!
I just bought the Ridgid Gen 2.0 power tool chest, I replaced my old tool tote bag that was past worn out, after losing tools decided either get a replacement truck behind the seat tool carrier or keep losing tools out the bottom. Like you make a few dividers for organizing and speed for road side emergency and I will not miss the tote. For my finish carpentry company bought Milwaukee pack out after reviewing contractor grade rolling tool storage, with some jobs several blocks away from where I park. The system is well built, though the rolling chest needs compartments or an organizer. After the first job having to dump everything out to find what I needed, the end of each day gathering all the tools up looked at made a custom organizer can quickly access the tools. After purchasing the Ridgid find a good value, is fairly durable, and the price to feature makes it a recommended system. If it is not available or doesn't fit your needs make your own, American ingenuity at its best. Like your video sir!
Thank you for your comment!
This is definitely an added benefit of choosing the Pro Gear system over the competitors. By the way, your router bit needs to be sharpened or replaced
It’s a harbor freight cheapy. lol. So replacement would be in order.
We just got the carrier too. Where did you get the next?
The cargo net? It came from harbor freight as well.
Definitely convinced me to buy it lol
Great to hear! It’s a good tool and a good price!
Thank you for your real-world review. Your rugged, hardworking hands alone are the best indication of the durability of the Ridgid Gen2 rig. I am DIY woodworker and own several GEN1 Ridgid boxes. I'll soon be purchasing the drawer box. God bless.
Thank you for the kind words, enjoy your new box!
Great video! I have some 1.0 pieces and saw the 2.0 3 drawer today…having an issue with the drawer slide came loose on one drawer. Do these snap into place? No sure how to fix.
The drawer slides snap into place on the box itself, yes. If you’re referring to the drawer specifically, I have not investigated how that piece is attached.
You sure need some sockets, id send ya a complete set 3/4 unless you have the 1/2 impact wrench
Thank you. It’s the 3/4”. I only bought what I needed for the lug nuts were work on.
@TheJayHamish ah alright, just would of been nice to see you tackle the others
I like the custom orange case for your ultra torque
Thank you!
The ultra torque is a beast
Agreed
Thanks for your review, i got a harbor freight earthquake xt air impact that ain't worth shit. Returned it about 4 times for a new one and it still acting up, i will return it for a 3/4 cordless impact. I'm a new diesel mechanic and need something more reliable then the air impact.
I think this will fit the bill without breaking the bank. I’ve heard about a lot of problems with the earthquake. I believe they are doing away or phasing them out.
Crazy thing is they have kits now where you could have gotten the charger, battery and the tool for like 250 bucks. My local Harbor freight had a couple of the Gen 1 ultra torques left i waited till the last one was on the shelf marked down to $99.
Great deal!
Ya we converted from air to the Hercules after about 6 months. We do a lot of repairs in the field and own the 1/2 and the 3/4 inch ultra torque. They are beasts. They have so much power i am afraid they will snap the lug nuts off so we drop down to level 2 when we retighten on the skidsteers
Cool video
Thank you
I bought my first Ridgid Pro Gear box in 2015. Despite having a few scars from being tossed in and out of trucks for almost 10 years, it is still solid as the day I bought it.
Very informative and concise clean video. Great job. So far this is the leading contender for what I'm looking for.
Thank you for your kind words
I see this was about 3 months ago. How's it look 6 months in?
I need to make a 6 month update. Both bottom drawers drag quite a bit.
thorough YT vid. thank you for the effort and sharing. a year later, are you still liking your Jetta 2.5? thumbs up.
Yeah we love it! I’m very meticulous when it comes to maintenance so I keep it in tip top shape. Recently drove it to Texas and back to Seattle without a hitch. Solid performer
Which model is that sir?
The model is “HERCULES 20V Brushless Cordless, 3/4 in. Ultra Torque Impact Wrench with Friction Ring - Tool Only - Item 59767”
can you put it on the rolling cart only- so its a rolling cooler?
Unfortunately, no.
@@TheJayHamish - thank you for checking!
You’re welcome
I got the same set up rails and basket and couldn't be happier with it and I did pull the stickers off to
Awesome! Yeah those stickers ate ugly
The only thing I have concerns about this system is that the clips on both sides will be worn out after a while. Can u correct my issue or am I right?
It seems the spring mechanism loosens up over time, yes. However, even with the “loose” latches, the boxes stay together just fine. The handles don’t fall over and separate the boxes.
Best "Beer" on earth!
I’ve had my Hercules impact gun for years and I have had no regrets
What a beast.
I'm A Plumber, plan on doing the set up like you have , 2 big drawers on bottom and 3 or 4 drawer on top , for hand tools , I got the 1.0 box's , but the drawer's I believe will make life so much easier and detachable wheels cart to switch things up with another box's depending what I'm working on
I’ve had the pack out boxes before. Drawers are so much more convenient. I can quickly get to something at any time. The detachable carriage is very nice to have as well. Enjoy!
Thinking of getting this one or the bauer not sure which one to get for tire rotates at a hyundai dealership
I’d recommend the Hercules just for the 5 yr trouble free warranty vs 90 day with the Bauer
Does it force regen?
Yes, it initiates the Regen cycle
Will it work on semi trucks Freightliner Volvo
@user-fn9oo1dg4h I’m not sure tbh. I don’t have one to try it on.
Wish they'd go all brushed hell double the price I'd still pay it they make good tools
That’s a real test for sure 👍
I bought one a couple months ago....... $82 because it was in the returned items area. Im guessing someone thought it was 1/2 inch and didnt think about getting an adapter. No scuffs anywhere on it. I doubt a socket was ever installed on it. Still in the plastic pouch and the correct packing . Crap, now I have to buy a Freightliner or a Cat. 😁 O had recenly bought the smaller 1/2" impact, so this is complete overkill for me........ But $82 and atill has the 5 year warranty. ......i had to, just had to. Next sale will be an 8 ah battery.
You need to test them with a load. Otherwise this is useless.
Jay Harmish!!!!!!!!! You sum gum good content bruh
NEW SUB
Thank you
I usually see inner zipper for adding fleece during winter.
They told me it was intended to accept a liner. I believe they offer a winter version that comes with the liner
Brushed, huh? I didn't realize that when looking at the online. Of course we all try to hide our flaws.
you've had it for a year now. how's the durability?
We took a week and a half to drive from Seattle to Houston and back with a full load on top and not a single issue arose. It still looks as good as the day I bought it. That trip was in August, so very recent.
@@TheJayHamish - great! Thank you.
You’re welcome.
really good video, looking forward to the next update
And if you believe that we got a bridge to sell you
Well, you better have a bridge handy.
We use one everyday at work and after 40hrs a week and a few months of abuse still kicking hard
An idea for your plywood worktop, I spray FlexSeal spray on plywood to make guitar pedalboards look a bit better than old knotty pine plywood! It comes in 3 or 4 colors. When it gets to beat up, spray another coat on. I don’t know how it would do with grease and other fluids you might work with. Either way, nice setup!
I’ve looked at it and flex seal doesn’t play well with grease and oil. It’ll turn to goo. Thanks for the great idea though.
I'm in alabama and think I have a truck that you could test that on to give it a work out it's a military m35a2 they use a 1 inch impact to pit the lugs on with if you are any where near alabama to try to test it to see the hardest bolt it can handle I'd like to see if it can do handle it cause if it can IL be buying one in a heart beat to use instead of the 20 lb 1 indrive impact I carry for it
Unfortunately I’m not, I’m close to Seattle. Is it like the one torque test Chanel showed? That one was huge but didn’t impress with performance.
I love what you did on the side of the tool box for the orginizers. I havent seen it done like the before, great job!!
Glad you liked it!
Just got my drawers today finally! If the latch connection wears down over time it could possibly be "fixed" by taping around the metal bar a few times with electrical tape or similar to thicken the circumference and tighten the connection.
Thank you for the idea.
How much would a setup like this cost or can u buy them as a set for whole drawer 3 box setup?
To get what I have currently costs $420 + tax. That includes the cooler but not the wood for the top. That is a 2 drawer, 4 drawer, 2 small parts boxes, roller carriage, & cooler.
How much does it cost to get the same setup you have ?
Right now, $420 +tax. Without the wood top
Ngl bro I love HERCULES but the 12v line is meh . The 20v 😤😍
Good purchase
That gun is aaa crazy bch 😊😊 I will for sure buy it )))
