I converted my Honda CR-V into a cozy off-grid stealth camper! (SUV/Van tour)

I built this modern stealth camper and, after downsizing my posessions, moved in! Here’s hoping you enjoy this tour; if you have any questions, please post them below, I’d love to answer them! Great video. Thanks
My pleasure!
King. Thank you. Just did this successfully.
Nice, stealthy, cosy, functional❤it
What do you do in place of a cooler?
I just bought things as I needed them, since I was usually near a grocery store anyway.
Upvote for laminar flow
How tall a fellow are you? The CR-V is an excellent vehicle, but rather small! Congrats on getting it set up to camp. Brilliant idea using teh Ryobi tool fan, same charger as your drill or saw.
I'm rather short at 5'3, and thanks a bunch!
Brilliant
Actually the engineer would say “the carrying capacity of the glass is not optimized for this particular purpose “.
Thanks for getting me thinking about New ways to do electrical
Ingenious! Very well explained! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I have the second Gen CRV. It has been absolutely fantastic for camping and road trips. I mounted a solar panel on the roof with a deep cycle battery and 2000 watt inverter under the passenger seat to run whatever tools are needed in remote areas. It pays to be creative with this wonderfully versatile vehicle. I still haven't figured an efficient use for the large storage well under the table. 🤔
awesomeness, thanks for sharing! and I mean it can always be useful for emergency stuff or things you use rarely. I found it to be a pain to get to even when I went to it relatively rarely.
Store your "out of season" clothes there, unless you are one of the lucky ones that don't get very harsh winters😢
Neat setup.
Thx, glad you like it!
Hey pretty cool
Excellent stuff thanks!
My pleasure!
The cooler Gods have called and you are in DEEP FREEZER SH!t. I have 2002 and can't come to mind to rip out the rear sits.
So what’s the fix my name rear windshield wiper jet not working I’ve already disconnected the hose from the rear jet to see if any water was flowing and there was no water flowing but the front jets work perfectly
Check the integrity of the line, it may have rotted out somewhere and is leaking
where did you get the window covers u show at the end of the video??
Great question! I bought reflect-X from the hardware store and cut it to the size of each of my windows. I then used spray glue to stick black curtain to it and cut them to size + 2inches. I should have then sewn the edges, but never got around to it. Cheers!
I assume that u removed the second seat of seats🤷
Can confirm
I have a rd1 I love it
Sweeet 🤙
Just need a better cooler lol
I do the same in my Toyota! Be safe and thank u for sharing your set up!
Epicness and my pleasure bud! Rock on!
"That's my gym bag cause... well, that's where I shower... in the gym, not the bag" got me laughing so hard
❤️
Enjoyable video. What I’ve found that if you put a sunshade for the windshield als darkens the inside enough to hide what’s inside.
Hey I know this video is a year old but was wondering if you knew if the 2 pumps were the same? Like if I purchase online does 1 pump work for both front and rear washers?
I’d love to give you an answer, but I don’t 100% know. They seemed to all have similar colours for left and right, so I’d assume not, BUT they definitely run off the same voltage and have a similar mechanism inside. My guess is that one has a tube coming out one side, and the other is mirrored. You could probably adapt one side to work for the other with a bit of duck tape and fabrication, but best would be to get the right part the first time imho.
Check your rear charging point wattage out in the crv manual, my outlander has a 12v 120w outlet in the back which was amazing to find! I thought it was just the same as the front.. Also you won’t have any energy loss if the motor is running as it charges at 14v. Ur basically using petrol to charge your devices. The battery bank is a great idea and now you can buy up to 80,000 mah banks.
That’s an excellent idea, thanks for the tip! I don’t have the CR-V anymore but this is super useful to know for future projects!
Very helpful thanks
My pleasure!
Wow the folding table is super cool!
I think so too :P
Super informative and well explained. Thanks!
My pleasure, thanks for the kind words! 😄
I think the table only comes stock with the first generation crv, which of course is the best one! 😁
I agree that the first gen is the nicest, but can confirm that the table comes with the second generation as well. If it’s missing, check a few junkyards ;D
the 2nd gen still has the table. but the succeeding ones are no longer equipped w/ this innovation.
That screen is actually genious Its to keep rocks and bugs from putting holes in your rad
Oh true hadn’t thought of that!
Love it!
My concern is where take a 🚿🛁?
The gym! (When it’s not closed due to the quebec government, of course)
Hi Lindsey how many miles do you have? I just got an 07 recently and looking to do the same
I forgot and ended up selling it, but awesome! Wishing you awesome adventures in it man!
Wonder front and back are same connectors?thanks
They seemed identical
they are not the same, the front has flat plates that are perpendicular to each other, the rear has flat plates that are parallel and next to each other. the plastic clip piece is the same though.
I think that's a great solution to rent, as long as you can manage things like toileting and cleaning. Love the fan, desk and CR-V table.
I really love this build. Very functional for the small space. I already miss my CR-V.
Thanks, glad you like it! And yeah I get that, I just sold this one 2 weeks ago to go backpacking (new video on the subject will be out soon) :)
Very enjoyable video! Hard to believe you can live there through winter though. Did your dad also helped you with that?
Especially well spoken and funny!
Thanks man, and nah, I plugged in a space heater and parked in a friend’s driveway :)
Drop curtain behind front seats is key,I've been living in my Mini Van for 1-1/2 years never had the "knock" before the mini van I lived in a 01 Toyota Camry also had a drop curtain & removed back seats sleeping into the trunk.
Can confirm the drop curtain was super useful! I did get 3 knocks over 1.5 years though; 2 from cops and one from a friend that recognized my truck :P
Nice build there dude 🍻
Thanks a bunch bud!
This is bad ass
