About a week ago I played BOTW for the first time in about 2 years because I was wanting to try some glitch stuff in that game. And it's amazing some of the QOL improvements, I'd forgot about. But one that I think makes such a difference for me is not having a cool down period for recall like they had for stasis.

I like zelda's zonai look in this game.

Richard is such an interesting character, he has such a burden on his hands, despite being such a patriot he nearly tore his own country apart with his own hands. Its easy to miss but the intelligence division was the best of the best in the Liberl army, they took in the cream of the crop and he dragged them down the wrong path. He is skilled and he knows it and now he fears his own skills, that his ability and talent could be warped against what he loved so much (a very weissman thing to do). That he can find a path for himself can only ever be a good thing The jaeger corps kevin encountered were the Nothern jaegers

While this tutorial island was possible to complete out of order, GSI definitely pushes the player in a more linear order than BOTW's Great Plateau. I personally liked that better. What was your preference?

Taking Renne makes sense on this dungeon too as you'll soon see

Its more that he has mastered his craft, and once you have mastered it to the level he has there are principles that apply regardless of weapon choice, its quite interesting to learn about. Things like footwork, spacing hand positioning... stuff like that. always fun to see what the gang is up to haha cassius really do just be built different.... and agate sulking cuz he didnt get to fight Cassius is hilarious... Amazing that we would be awwwing over richard... would never have imagined it in the first game haha Keep a close eye on the cutscene once you defeat the "schwarzritter", there's some nice stuff in there

cassius would kill everyone if you let him get a few turns in. as you can tell, he hits very hard. its even more brutal on a blind hard or nightmare run since hell likely kill anyone with a hit, or wipe everyone out with his s-craft if you didnt have shields up. but yeah, cassius has dialogue with everyone, with pre-battle, post-battle, and then you can talk to them in the garden. most of them also have dialogue whether they were there in the fight or not.

How gosh you really went and did all of them haha and even won all the battles! youre definitely not underleveled at this point... also probrably an expert at the cassius fight haha i love how hesitant he is at fighting royalty, man has a code he sticks to. Renne being somewhat horrified at cassius's power and cassius instead being nothing more than a doting dad is just so great to me. To renne power is something to be in awe of or fear but cassius shows he he is more than just his martial strength, hes a dad who is more than willing to welcome her into his house should she want it.

Cassius has something unique to say to everyone, its very cool and good effort from the writers Yeah Cassius doesnt need any adds, he will take you on all on his own haha

Classic trails and its endless corridors Morgan do be quite the temperamental fella... and quite the tough challenge too In the end not too bad... but the last guy can only be one person right?

The games go on to prove Richard was right about everything in FC imo

yeah for an impregnable fortress... its been broken into alot... Richard also took over it as the baddie for abit too... I wonder who is going to be waiting at the end for everyone tho... Hey i mean Cid helps out whenever he can. He's not the best but hes helpful Judging by pure swordmanship, Anelace is probrably better than Cid... Cid seem slike hes more a tactical or strategic mind than fight mano a mano Richard just feels unworthy of having such loyal followers... mans got an imposter syndrome of sorts

Ah this is not really Renne's door, apologies i forgot she technically has two... there is another door for her and that one is the one to look out for. This door is more about Pater-Mater. It does also show that there are still pure evil people in ourobouros, syncing with the machine killed dozens and they lined up Renne after all that. Once you get to Renne's door you'll see how cruel this really was... She would have been around 5 or 6 when they attempted to sync her to the Pater-Mater

Bleublanc is quite the strange character, and like the society, seems to tread a fine line between being purely criminal to having some kinda moral code they follow. For all his nonsense, they only real bad thing he did in SC is probrably how creepy he was to Kloe... which isn't exactly the best but hardly a crime. honestly if whoever he sold it to tried to hide it away, he would probrably just steal it from them again... Hes Enforcer number 10... so the roman numeral for that would be... hahaha yeah but he could also be lying so who knows eh

Player revives characters: buisness as usual Enemies revives enemies: "Hey! That's cheatin!" Hahaha it always catches me off guard whenever they do that. Yeah the arena fights do seems to be all bribed haha Rip Richard... he'd probrably feel bad about letting you down as he is now though The church cant stop what they dont know... and kevin seems like a "rules as guidelines" sorta guy when it comes to this stuff no? Haha Good job making it through those fights! Nightmare arena is really really tough though so maaaybe that one for next time... if you felt your butt was getting kicked before that one takes it to another level haha And dont worry about veghesther, they're one of the mysteries of the trails fandom... geniunely they always pop up somewhere and drop the same advice of playing on easy. Strange if generally harmless presence

However I'll still play the game on the EASY mode difficulty but for the Hard arena battle rank ON easy mode the last enemies use Faint/Sleep on the ENTIRE party so you must NULL BOTH.

How... also i want one Julia with the not so subtle hints to up everyone's levels haha Renne has a very high social intelligence... she clearly knows what people want to hear but chooses the wrong options intentionally. Estelle to the rescue tho haha... Yeah shes not just socially smart... shes a real wonder kid... still just a kid though and deserves to live the life of one. Estelle preemptively big sistering Renne is adorable Imma be honest i never saw anelace there... what is she doing... Olivier looks like he was drinking with schera... brave brave man

Ahh trails in the sky and the neverending similar corridors... I think its a lot of fun that they give all teh side character who have really only had their combat ability hinted at some chance to shine and showcase their abilities. A lot of these characters have really only had their abilities hinted at so letting them showoff is nice Pretty much everyone wanted to see Kilika on their team. its not the last we will see of her though. She's quite the character... Yeah there are a lot more people ahead... halfway is about right There is a 0% chance Zin goes all out against Killika haha she has him wrapped around her finger after all.

knowing renne... she could probrably sneak on ahead on her own and be totally fine... probrably best for his liver that olivier doesnt join schera to often shhh, i'm sure what ries is reading is perfectly respectable and nothing to worry about haha this next section is going to be a lot of fun best of luck!

Shhh the chest is hiding, its playing hide and seek with the other chests The idea of a gifting a happiness stone is very sweet though. nice to hear from the kids again and see how they interact with the rest of the town A bit of a weird side story but a nice one nonetheless also one of the strangest ones, i genuinely have no idea if itll ever be referenced

Even if they aren't a thing, their friendship is truly a thing of beauty haha Series of the wonderful side characters, they feel like main characters in their own game, maybe a VN or something haha

The fellas were surprisingly tough haha seems they've really been training It's quite funny how much they look up to estelle tho I mean hey the first in a long gauntlet has to be the least impactful no? Ah i believe youre talking about Orvid haha But yeah its about the Ravens hahaha Kinda random, but also nice to see agate go back and lend them a hand. funny that estelle and joshua individually were each okay as junior bracers but these fellas only count as one if they are all three together... Being even a junior bracer is a bigger deal than i initially thought haha They dont have orbments as they arent even junior bracers yet so they wont have arts haha

Yup this is from the book gambler Jack haha you don't need to know the story though it does add a lot of context Hahaha that's best found out by playing the games i would say, if you really really wanna know more about the carnelia characters, there was a manga released that helps transition between Sky 3rd and the next series call Ring of Judgement. (if you can find it) I could be wrong but no that is not how poker is usually played, i believe poker usually has it where 2 cards are handed out to each player and three are laid out on the table. from there bets are thrown in (you're stuck with whatever cards you get and there are no exchanges). Then you can decide if you want to match the current bet or raise it, there will usually be some sort of mandatory amount thrown in but that's more rules dependent (to prevent people from just folding until they geta good hand). After that another card will be revealed and everyone gets to bet or fold again, then a 5 card and the same. Then the player with the highest matching set, using the cards in their hand and well as on the table, gets the win. This game's version is very different in the process but the hands to win are the same... mostly Hey no spoilers coming from here, they're honestly good reads tho... and you should really read carnelia especially before the end of this game, there is some fun context with the church stuff.

So now you've got a brief summary of Erebonian politics. Erebonia itself is loosely based on 18'th century France with the rise of the French revolution. Where peoples discontent with the monarchy and nobles as a whole led to an abrupt and violent change to it's goverment with the guillotining of the French king. Which eventually lead to anarchy and mobs guillotining other people in the streets. So you might see why Olivier is a little apprehensive about this whole situation. The Chancellor and the reformist faction represent the revolutionaries. The Nobles represent the monarchists. This is an important conflict that happens in the Coldsteel games.

Betcha didn't see that one coming, yup yup welcome back to lechter, there was no way to see him earlier but uhhh... he was the erebonian spy And he works for gilliath Osborne, there is going to be a lot more of that man. The man is a snake, so much more so than Ourobouros themselves (ironically) his words are wreathed in falsehoods and double meanings. Its quite interesting to hear that Olivier has changed as hes quite impenetrable to most of the cast. As for Lechter, part of me thinks that it was just an act as there was no way the slacker could have been a spy (but doubles as a convenient cover when he has to run around and do other things that everyone think he likes to play hooky) but part of me also thinks thats just a closer glimpse into who he actually is. Olivier really seems boxed in, he fully admits to hating the nobility, but is fearful towards the force that seems to dethrone them. really feels like there is no way out for him... and if Olivier hates someone you know they definitely did something very bad to him. Oh Lechter and Osborne are definitely the baddies, and they are the "beast that has made it's home in Erebonia" that he was referring to in Sky SC. Olivier has been seeking a way to counter him from teh get go which is why he was so eager to consult Cassius. He's got his work cut out for him...

There's no way anything bads gonna happen, cant imagine anything bad happening haha Yeah kevin do be hiding things from the party again... that dang guy... the person responsible definitely wants Kevin in pain with all the shit they put him through.... From what he's saying though i feel like Olivier already knows who is responsible Renne and Tita's conversations are officially the most adorable thing

Olivier's door is great, loads of foreshadowing for event long into the future Fellow spider hater i see hahaha can't stand the things either Renne is a very strong caster especially as she is fast, while richard has a craft that delays and with enough CP can almost spam it indefinitely. just some advice incase it gets too hard as the fights are only going to get harder

Richard is super strong haha, did you make him basically solo that fight? The use of orbments shot their technology level up a few levels too many, and yeah youre right it definitely did and is going to cause a few more conflicts...

Anelace with her very important priorities... I dont know if your set one, but josette is very good as a support party member, despite how weak she is as a proper party member haha Renne is super confident but her, she has pretty good reason to be. Her and Tita's friendship is so cute tho. Estelle's Operation cuddle Renne seems like its still in progress... The Salt Pale is one of the major historical events in the series, and its effects are felt even in the latest games, truly horrifying stuff though. I can't imagine what that would have felt like. Oh the citizens were suuuuper happy about him fleeing an arge is about a meter so 2.5 arge is 2.5 meters Yup that was them the northern jaegers, not the last time we will see em... honestly quite the pitiable group (there is an anime about north ambria, it is horrific though so do not watch it, plus it has spoilers anyways) Oh the church knows a lot that it doesn't tell anyone... Weissman gets to survives the salt pale (he was from north ambria) which orphans him only to get it shot into him by Kevin... quite the poetic end for him no? Yeah you'll slowly come to learn that the church are not the really the good guys... remember Kevin is a hitman for the church, a very god guy thing to need.

To me Renne was the star of this game. Whatever happens don't skip her door which is easily missable Also Oliviers door is pretty important for later games like Coldsteel Those 2 you HAVE to see, others are more or less fanservice and closure.

Olivier does have a door no worries, its just his door is one of the more plot significant ones... you'll know when you see it And yeah say hello to the final party member, been so hard keeping it a secret, having her in the party is gonna be such a blast... Poor girl is so on edge, understandable tho... forewarning, her door is one of the darkest places this game series ever goes to. Definitely don't watch it at the start of your day and be prepared. Tita is so good, probably the least physically capable or imposing there but the first to run in and defuse the situation.

Tita, with her mom and grandpa, i can imagine her sleeping even when trapped in limbo. Everyone is so supportive of the self depreciative Richard. Killika would be awesome wouldnt she.... somehow though i feel Zin would be hen-pecked to hell and back Josette having some real misunderstandings on what schera is to joshua... hahaha thinking back the two havent really interacted much Hahahaha yeah fleeing from battles doesnt count

Man its great to have estelle back, hahaha how we have missed her Shes so much mors mature now, though i cant remember were her quote came from Yeah... eventually might need a level catch up session Richard! Yeah i did wanna spoil it but aay hi to the mew party member, mam what a long say hes come since ths first game

Everytime you see a box brake it never have to buy arrows again and on bone guys throw a dazzle fuirt down instant kill.

Yeah... so fishing becomes a much bigger and better thing in later games... but an entire door... Granted this game is where they really tried experimenting (josette's door is another example of this) But really... this door... hahaha

Yeah... honestly between josette and Estelle i think we know who the real tomboy is... her go to method of negotiation is quite... violent Joshua casually putting children on the ground... well i so long as they don't roll away... No one is ever ready for Erika's wrath I mean all things considered theres worse impressions out there.... But yeah accidentally went to where youre supposed to go hahaha Erika with her...ritual... hahaha i've met people who that... theyre always very funny. i mean not that specifically its more just they have their little rituals for big things Erika is amusing but... people with her personality are insufferable in real life haha Poor Agate, hes totally at the whims of that family... hahaha

Erika may be... herself... but she's clearly smart and tries to push agate's buttons to get hin to accept Bracers seem to have to be very good at problem solving... I guess a skill that would work well in an engineering context
