Tesla Wall Connector Installation | Gen 3 Charger
มุมมอง 11Kปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I show the installation of my new Gen 3 Tesla Wall Connector (Tesla charger). For the last 3 years, we've charged our Tesla Model Y using a ChargePoint charger. While this serves us well, I've had to use a J1772 adapter and be limited to 32 amps for charge rate. The Tesla Wall Connector allows you to charge up to 48 amps (11.5kW) using a 60 amp breaker and 6 gauge THHN wire. This...
Upgrade is Hesitant | Tesla FSD Beta 11.3.6
มุมมอง 517ปีที่แล้ว
My commentary on the new Tesla FSD Beta 11.3.6. I take it through suburban streets, traffic circles, and other intersections to test safety, flow, and hesitation. It has the potential for zero interventions, but only if you are very patient to let the car work through decisions and don't mind the occasional annoyed driver around you. Is it safe? (spoiler alert: it is, but perhaps at a cost to d...

FSD Beta 11 appears to be going out in wide release. I just receive the update from FSD Beta 10.69.25 to FSD Beta 11.3.4 today and took it out to get first impressions. Tesla 2022.45.13 update. Please forgive the poor video quality - I didn't have time to set camera white balance before getting out in the last bit of daylight to share my first drive experience with you. #fsdbeta #fsd11 #modely
Tesla Model Y Efficiency at 3-yrs/60K Miles | Cold Weather Range
มุมมอง 2.1Kปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I take the Model Y on a 250-mile cold weather road trip to see cold weather efficiency after 3-yrs/60K Miles of ownership. We're driving just above freezing (between 32-46 deg F/0-8 deg C) for the entire trip, at an average speed around 65-70 mph.
One Year with Solar - Was It Worth It?
มุมมอง 1Kปีที่แล้ว
One year with solar - was it worth it? We had a very snowy first winter, but the numbers are in. I crunched our electricity production and costs to determine whether the initial estimate for payback period was accurate. There are definitely some things I wish I knew before getting solar and a battery installed. How has it performed and do I still think getting solar panels was a good idea?
Progress | A Tesla Owner Story (Model Y + Solar Panels)
มุมมอง 2.6Kปีที่แล้ว
I've had this channel for over a year now and thought it was time to tell my story: why did I buy the Tesla Model Y and install solar panels for home use? What events led me to moving from gas to electric vehicles? Do I ever anticipate going back to a gas vehicle? I didn't buy this car to buy a brand, but do have a great appreciation of what this brand stands for: Progress. This video starts ne...

Tesla Heat Pump & SuperManifold Replacement Cost | 2020 Model Y
มุมมอง 6Kปีที่แล้ว
Unfortunately, the heat pump failed in my Tesla Model Y and needed to be replaced, causing the supermanifold and coolant lines to also require replacement. In this video, I share the Tesla service experience (which was Top Tier - my best experience from Tesla by far). I also share the Tesla repair cost of replacing these components, which was not cheap. 0:00 Driving / Explanation of Issue 1:28 ...

A tractor-mounted snowblower makes sense for long driveways like mine (clearing 450 feet), but with a driveway as short as yours, you could clear it faster with a walk-behind snowblower. Why did you opt for this blower? Second, I am not impressed with the throwing distance of your Cub Cadet blower; my old Craftsman tractor-mounted snowblowers could move more snow in less time with greater throwing distance. In my experience with numerous snowblowers (walk-behind and tractor-mounted), Cub Cadet products are poorly engineered, plagued with too many engineering mistakes that penalize customers.
2021 Y owner and have the same issue but only replaced the super manifold. no heat pump issue but still cost 2.9K. It was only 15 days out of warranty. My personal experience would say, Tesla is good for 4 years and buy the extended warranty thats offer at 2K. Battery is still good at above 80%. However it's not low maintenance. This is why Hertz sold most of their Tesla.
Will you be keeping one spare tire in your car at all times in case of a flat?
Biggest impact on the usebility are the tires - proper Nordic winter tires. I had no issues in really bad weather with shit load of snow. Best winter car for now our LR AWD. Good video!
I have the exact same setup since 2018, now 2024 and still works great, 200 ft driveway and 4 spots in Southern Ontario.. The only thing i don't like about it is putting it on the tractor.
Great info
Hi is this Long range AWD or performance car?
also to create the pilot holes for the screws what size drill bit(?) did you use? (i am very new to this)
amazing work. May I ask what exact screws/washers you used to mount the desktop to the frame? Thank you so much
Why not just buy the IDASEN top? Its of excellent quality plywood. Had mine for 6 years now and its still good as new
My only question is how so many Tesla owners have same exact issue. To me it should be looked in. Maybe is Tesla sending over the air bugs to create issues to scam money from service. I don't know.
Ive seen this same model high centered in a snow storm up here in Canada.Theres no ground clearance making it not suitable for deep snow. I passed it in my Honda Element. I also saw a model 3 stuck because of no clearance.
im happy to drive corolla hatchback ! i dont have 3000$ to put in my car for a heat pump I thought about buying a Tesla and I canceled because it was too expensive. I did well to buy a Corolla hatchback for $28,000. I have 90,000 km and nothing to repair, only brakes for $500.
How would you know if someone wired a gps tracker in a tesla?
Great video and learned quite a bit from you! Just bought my 2024 LR RWD before Memorial Day! Still learning. Live in southeast Pa and occasionally get heavy snow. Any brands of snow tires you recommend! Seen some Tesla drivers using “studded” tires. Is this necessary?
Just had the same issue on 2020 Model Y @ 75,000 miles. It's in the shop now in California, the cost for the same service is now $3,400 parts and labor.
Hey Did they give you warranty on the new heat pump ?
What screws diameter and washers did you use? Please let me know as i messed up my installation and need to re-do it all over again.
look lie a nice fireworks unluck didnt ofudn nay other video of this place , ty for your clip
2x8' you go... short and nice.
I have an xt3 with the 3 stage snowblower attachment. I would never recommend it. The 3 stage just gets more clogged up. It does pretty good with light snow but not with heavy snow, it clogs up quickly and is better used as a plow. Oh by the way the auger assembly has broke each of the last two years at a whopping $800-900 fix each time. Repairs shops see them break often and have had to replace the auger assembly on many cub cadet 3 stage snowblower attachments. Dean
About one year ago I live in China, now I live in Winnipeg, about 5 hours distance😊
Love the Video. I was the Pyrotechnician on this show and we are Premier Pyrotechnics
Beautiful shots and edit John! Thanks for sharing it. Happy belated 4th!
Where was this show? Just curious. Like who put this specific show on?
It was in northern MN. It was organized and put on by a voluntary community organization that plans our local 4th of July celebration.
Love seeing the bursts illuminate the lake & boats like that
How is this a "hack"? They sell the frame separate for exactly this purpose. LOL.
Açıklayıcı anlatım için teşekkürler
My last 3 cars were Japanese cars. in total maybe 700,000 km and I have spent no more than $1000 US on it. Brake Caliper, Muffler and Brake pads. that's insane! better set aside $10k just incase your Tesla needs repairs.
Do you think the Ikea Idåsen base would work with a 200cm (about 79 inches) table top?
I imagine it’s a huge PITA to hook that blower up. It would take me a lot less time to start my 1968 Ariens snowblower 😂
Ty
Thanks for this video. Not many people talk about these issues on reviews.
Very good and detailed video. If i purchase a 32x75 inch block countertop will it fit or will have adjustment problems (e.x. on the edges)????
That is not a "heat pump". It's the A/C compressor. Looks like they sold you the Super manifold and the Octovalve unit. Keep those parts, because there are some non service components on it you can't buy separately. All 6 actuators on the front side are not a service item. You also have 3 temp sensors on the front. I'll bet money they didn't diagnose anything and sold you the complete Super manifold with the Octovalve as a CYA. Glad you got it fixed. $1K is super high for that repair. What is their labor rate ?
You're correct about the AC compressor vs. heat pump. I checked the invoice and it was stated as such. They didn't break out labor hours on this one, but I had service last month. Tesla is currently charging $215/hour for labor at the service center nearest to me (Maplewood, MN).
Thanks for your review. I was wondering in your Model Y was a AWD long range? I am planning to buy one of those and you have about the same mileage to do as I do and live in about the same climate
Yes it is the MYLR. I still own it now (June will be 4 years) and have 85,000 miles on it.
I’m sorry guys, but this is not that expensive in my opinion. I’m a mechanic by trade and for all the money you save in the long run with a TESLA paying $3000/5-year is not bad
Well, it just happened again tonight. The service message came back 14 months after I had it repaired. The warranty on the repair was 12 months so we’ll see if they cover it or I’ll need to pay for this repair again.
@@JohnVanDeVoort Oly moly, that's a bummer. Did you go to tesla with this, or tried an independent repair shop?
@@JohnVanDeVoortupdate ? I hope you didn’t have to pay for it!
Did you post the 2nd failure and how did Tesla resolve it for you. I am really concerned as I maybe in the same boat later.
Hi I'm Korean and I'd like some help making a desk! can I know the size of the side that comes out at 4:08
The desk extends beyond the top brace by 7 1/4 inches or about 190 mm
Nice work. Why not just use 6/2 MC in stead of wrestling with the conduit?
Not a bad idea. In hindsight…
well done John!
Hi John, do you think where the 3 cross braces join you could extend the width by moving the slider out one position and only using 2 bolts a side? Any chance you have the max distance between the legs so inside leg to inside leg? Thanks
I'm at the max width for the adjustable base. I would not recommend extending further as it would affect lateral stability. The legs are 53 inches apart (on center of leg). Distance of inside of leg to inside of other leg is 49.5 inches.
One question , how is the wobbling at the stand position ?
It’s pretty solid. I use it on a carpet floor with padding. It hasn’t caused me any worries for tipping.
Update as we close out 2024 winter - It's been holding up since the repair so far. I'm at almost 80,000 miles. During the coldest period this last winter, it did make some odd noises (like pinging/crackling) when it ran on the coldest days, so hopefully not an indicator of impending failure. But, so far, so good.
This happened to me in Dec 2021. Under warranty, but I still have the car, it's 2024 and so far no issues this winter. I hope the Replacement I had is a solid fix. I feel like alot of these issues ate 2020 model years. I have some videos posted on my channel
Yes - holding up well so far!
What are those rims? So nice!
Enkei Phantom 19" wheels. Thanks!
I ended up paying 2,650 for mine.
You got a bargain :)
Mine doesn’t say anything after i type service. Its a Chinese tesla. Maybe a different password?
Did you have Tesla change the car to your country? Request it in the app
Dismantle the heatpump, you can see if the scroll is broken.
I still have it on a shelf in my garage. I'm planning to do it when I have a little free time.
Great video..we plan to use this for a conference table..about 36" x 84"
Perfect!
Surprised there isn't a core discount. 99% of it is probably still good.
Me too. I'm also surprised there isn't a discount based or recall, based on other reports that I've seen.
