You are not telling the entire story and it’s context. Shame on your dishonesty. My father was in the 104th Inf. Div. and fought Nazis in Europe so I am not a defender of Nazis. But you have slanted the truth here.

The German troops must have known they were the Last line of defense before Berlin. They must have known they had little chance of success. They bought the kool aid. At the time if this battle there were already about 6 million Allied troops in and around Germany. The Allies had complete control of the skies and the seas. Berlin itself had been bombed nearly daily for months. About half of its inhabitants had already fled.

According to Heinrici's memoirs, the search lights made it easy for the German anti-tank gunners to hit their targets. The lights completely silhouetted the advancing armor. It was a giant blunder on Zhukov's part. The floodplain in many areas before the Seelow Heights, where the AT guns were dug-in, is only 500m, so the silhouetted armor had no where to run and at that range it was like shooting fish in a barrel. The PaK/40s and 88s did fearful execution for a couple days.

Absolutely right - many Soviet tanks had a hard time churning through the mud and became easy targets for the panzerfausts. The Soviet artillery fire fell too short as Heinrici had anticipated, all which combined to make the climb up to the German positions more difficult and deadly.

General Heinrici was well known for deceiving the enemy as to where the initial defensive line was in order to trick the Soviets into saturating empty lines with artillery. He had a knack for timing the withdrawals from forward lines for the last moment. Heinrici called it "Punching an empty bag."

The AI voiceover leaves much to be desired. Well, the South Tyrol never actually joined with Germany, so I for one am baffled by the title. The Germans did not want South Tyrol and remained under Italy, despite some half hearted terrorist activity in the post-WW2 years. Austria is not interested either in a bunch of farmers with nothing to contribute.

I sense a lot of bias in your view of history. History is written by the victors. who know what really happened and why. My sense is that their intention was to save Germany from the NWO - the one world government we are seeing happening today. Conspiracy theories? I don't know. But this time in history is connected to the sinking of the Titanic and fiat currency and taking the US off of the gold standard and the federal reserve. This is deeper than we think. Not everyone is willing to go down the rabbit hole. Dig
