Josh Bateman
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 28 ต.ค. 2011
My name is Joshua Bateman I grew up in a small town in Ontario Canada
I have since moved and traveled across the country, done and seen some amazing things. I am now living in rural Nova Scotia and continuing my dreams of being a competitive athlete as well as living my every day the way i want to.
Over the years i have became good at building my own things. Everything from putting together something from instructions to making it from scratch.
Iv never been one for being on camera so it may take some time to get used to making videos and being the "star" of the show. Hopefully the content will speak for itself.

I wound like to see how u did the saw trigger
Excellent Thanks for sharing Cheers from Alaska
Hope to see it in action .
Looks the biz , well done.
Why did it not cut bothe sides at once
Great job, looks great!!!
I want one
Where did you buy your machine?
Local dealer in moncton n.b. Various online dealers sell the same unit I just didn't want to deal with the import
Don't listen to the haters, they are just unhappy privileged people, I think it's admirable that you accomplished this project. Great job.
Great video
How many hydralic motors are you using total? I'm thinking 2, one for saw and 1 for chain feed
Yeah 2 motors 1 low speed high torque for the feed and a "concentric" brand 5000rpm motor on the saw. It's sized pretty good for the setup
@joshbateman901 are they both concentric motors? Do you by chance have part numbers?
What are you using for hydralic motor for saw
Great setup, love it. How do you chain feed set up?
It's a gear on the front and back making a loop and a second set of gears reducing the speed from a hydraulic pump
Thank you for sharing your findings! Very interesting!
Josh, just came across your channel. Very impressed with your fire wood processor build. I love your wood manufacturing setup. Do you bundle and sell kindlin?
When there is time to yeah. Usually through the winter when the milling is slower il do some kindling and firewood. The kindling is good buisness especially with "free" material but it is seriously time consuming.
Do you still like trudo?
I don't understand the question? Did I ever?
It is not Actually a furry if penguins can join any army. So, they can be a anti furry.
hey that's mine
No
what no did you say my mom is an elephant…(kindergarden fights be like)
😢
Yas!
😂😂😂😂
😂😅
😂😂
😂
Omg!
NO BS, just to the point. Thanks.
I see you have sold the unit already, cordless drill and a socket really speeds up those scissor jacks!
Yeah sure would. If it's getting moved a lot that would definitely make sense
Jesus, I'm gonna have about $1500 in mine and it's just as good! I'm glad I don't buy my shit in Canada
It's true canada has gotten out of hand with cost
5 lug axle rated at 4400lbs? I'm super sceptical.
It is rare but possible I believe it was a Dexter axle. 3" tube Lots of 5th wheels are like that. Quite common for a 4k so maybe they assume it was 400lbs with tires so it's an actual 4k load rating possibly
How is the edger going
Quite well. Machine has needed some serious tuning to get everything working the way it should. It's buzzing through boards now
You’re supposed to put 2 screws in behind the log stops to true them up.
Yes agreed and that squared them to the deck. If I'm thinking of the same thing your referring to I ment along the length one stop to the next there not in line to each other and I had a hard time even with the play in the bolts to get them all lined up together. Not that it's critical since I'm only using 2 at once anyways.
Nice indeed
How far does the frame stick out from the rear axle building a trailer and trying to get references
I find the rule of thumb to be 1/3 length of deck behind the axles. Just me and a rough guess. May be more and better info out there
What did you do to beef up the frame?
Plated in the "I" beam about 4ft distance across the axle section. Helped a lot with the twist. I had another one with tube main beam. I would definitely go that way if I had the chance again
65 lbs magnetic hook to hold the dust bucket works well
Excellent video and excellent build.
I'm missing the same 2 bolts. Lol. Had mine shipped. Just put it together.
Haha guess the QC isn't that great. They sent them out right away once I mentioned it to them. It's been a great mill for the price point. Have fun sawing Thanks for watching
As long as you keep your mill on concrete blocks you are going to have leveling problems. My HM 126 is 7 years old and I don't have any of the rail problems you described but then to I have mine set up on a solid bed
Yeah for sure not ideal. But do watcha gotta do with the budget you have. Depending on what portion of the rail issues iv gotten used to periodically leveing from front to back and side to side. Just part of maintenance. On the wave portion where there's dips in between the feet I'm sure it's there on just about every woodland mill that's been used. I figured out to buy an extra set of feet and now have feet in all the unused large holes. This has greatly reduced that and added to the strength and stability. As well as adding several more bunks in all the open spots for bunks. Thanks for watching
Just saw your video, my 126 has an adjustment for tilting the blade as you describe, so I’m sure your does too. I put a line level on the blade and you just loosen a couple bolts and swivel the blade cage.
Your talking about the 4 long bolts through the head to the post slider? There is a slight bit there but not nearly enough (at least for me). And the plastic sliders have some as well, but again when it was new there's not much room available for adjustment there either. It would be nice if both bandwheels had forward and back adjustment to get precise level on both sides.
Nice work 👍
It is good you have the skills to fix stuff, it'a shame you need to. No signs on the machine to identify it may be a good thing. Thanks for the video , good job.
China brand needs no brand... It's good for what it is just not great. I'm sure if I spent the 20k on a woodmizer It would be ready to work, but iv gotta work and buy within my budget. Thanks for watching
Watching other videos on this exact mill (I have one coming), the blade leveling front to back does have adjustment points on the back of the mill head.
Do you mean on the frame or on the bandwheel? Bandwheel doesn't have any forward or backward tilt option due to the design of the tensioner system. The head has a slight bit from the bolts and post guides but not an actual purposeful or useful amount from my experience
Maybe my mill was build more off true then others but I couldn't get the head sleeves to move enough to help
Those that can, do. Those that can't, critique and/or complain about those who can. Good job!
I like it
Not sure I fully understand the theory behind the regenerative circuit, but it was faster for sure, so Win! Do you have plans on anymore modifications, or a nice lick of paint perhaps?
I'm also sorta baffled by the concept as well. All I know is if it works it works! Basically just looping the flow from the inlet and outlet ports and T in the flow from the pump as well vs the full flow going all the way back around the circuit and through the pump again. Iv seen much more simple single circuits where it only increases the flow/speed in one direction but I was looking to get a better speed through the full cycle. Lots more to do when and if I have the time and money. Iv got a conveyor for the split wood I'm gona install. As well as changing up the push plate and I'd like to build some kind of live deck to feed the wood in as well. Rust don't count as paint? Paint comes when I'm done building, so likely never. Thanks for watching stay tuned for the next video
Clear as mud. :-)
That's pretty much it... I don't even fully understand it just know that it's working in practice so it works
Don't you just love it when all your tools and bits n' pieces fall all over the place 😆
That's just my every day...
Looks good but why did you get rid of the log lifter from a year ago? I think I want to build a log lifter so I was just wondering?
The other machine was mobile on a trailer so could drive it right up to the log pile. This one is stationary so I'm hauling logs to it with the tractor anyways so can load right onto it. I am thinking of building a live deck off the back vs a loader. Loader worked great just onto a different way now
Thanks, I really like both set ups@@joshbateman901
Is the conveyor powered or manual push log to stopped ?
Rollers are just manual. Beer style rollers
