A clever duckling helps her injured mother duck.
During a duck hunting a duckling watches ducks fall from the sky when they are hit. Afterwards the little duckling can no longer find her mother. She looks almost everywhere. In vain. She hopes so badly that her mom survived and longs for her mother so much that she thinks she recognizes her mother in all possible forms. In a balloon that she follows, in a duck figure in a garden. When she spots the truck with shot ducks with even more balloons dangling over it, she follows the truck into the city. Here she finally gets to a restaurant that offers fried ducks. When the duckling discovers the grill with the roasted ducks, she thinks she recognizes her mother. Desperate, the little one makes her way home and is amazed when she finds her mother near the nest. But poor mom is lying helpless in the grass. The duckling is too small to help her mother up. But through her journey into the friendly world, the duckling has an idea...Hope you enjoy!
The duckling can't really make sense of it all, not even when she sees the remaining balloons hanging in the backyard. Only when she discovers the grill does the duckling realize what is going on and thinks she can spot her mother among the grilled ducks.She sadly makes her way home. Her surprise is even greater when she discovers her mother near the nest. But mother duck can't stand up anymore and duckling is too small to help her up. The duckling needs a brilliant idea... It's good that she saw and experienced so much on her adventure trip.
I've never understood why people hunt animals unless there are really valid and important reasons. The German Animal Welfare Association has long denounced hunting as a mostly senseless act that not only kills animals, but often also tortures them. This applies, for example, to duck hunting in this country. A controversial hunter's code of honor states that ducks must be spooked before they are shot. This is supposed to be more sporty for the hunter. But for all waterfowl - and other animals living around - this means pure stress. Lead shotgun pellets are also used, which often injure rather than kill the birds, to name a few examples. The Animal Welfare Association complains about many other things.So I came up with the idea of making an animation about this sad topic - from the ducks' point of view. As always, the animation is intended to entertain and not to lecture.
It took me quite some time to create this little animation - and in the beginning I had several versions, which doesn't make me happy at all until I had the idea for this final version.
The music comes from Free TH-cam audio library, the sound from pixabay, Tobi Lijsen and myself. The voice is from my little grandchild.
