20 Minute Ball Handling Workout
มุมมอง 11K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Most of the exercises are basic. The pace is pretty fast. Press play and follow along at your own pace. *all you need is a basketball*

Accessible Dining In Tokyo
มุมมอง 1.3K4 ปีที่แล้ว
It's a strange time to share a travel video, but in the spirit of life being postponed rather than cancelled, I wanted to share this video that I made recently with the Japanese Tourism Bureau. www.jtbcorp.jp/en/tokyo2020/ Over the course of a day in Tokyo, I had the pleasure of meeting up with and sharing amazing Japanese food with a few remarkable people. Josh Grisdale is a fellow small town ...
1997 CWBL Junior Final Highlights (mostly)
มุมมอง 1.7K6 ปีที่แล้ว
I guess two things have happened; we've grown up and wow the game has changed. Hard to distinguish between the two though. A few things to note... 1 - no anti-tip fifth or sixth wheels yet. I heard about them for the first time in the spring of '98, and had one added to my chair a few months later, on the eve of Worlds that fall. 2 - I'm playing on 27" wheels. Shortly after this tournament I sw...
Patrick Anderson - Skill Saturday #23 - 1 on 1 with Steve Serio
มุมมอง 14K6 ปีที่แล้ว
This week, like most weeks, Steve and I played 1 on 1 (games to 21). Part fitness, part skill work, part lab experiment, the focus of our 1 on 1 games changes day to day, week to week, but we keep coming back to it. This was our third game of the day. The first two games we played full court, which is something we throw in when we have the luxury of both baskets. (fyi when we play full court, t...

Patrick Anderson - Skill Saturday #21 - Variation #2 On A Dribbling Theme
มุมมอง 1.9K6 ปีที่แล้ว
I learned to juggle in first grade. A young woman came from Japan to visit my elementary school, and she taught us how to juggle and how to make origami. I suspect she was in teachers college or something, but at the time we thought, "man, the Queen of Japan is one talented lady". Anyway, one of those two skills stuck with me. In my early 30's I rediscovered juggling and spent some long hours w...
Patrick Anderson - Skill Saturday #20 - Variation On A Dribbling Theme
มุมมอง 2.5K6 ปีที่แล้ว
/www.patanderson.ca This week I took something I do often, and put a little spin on it. When I was a teenager, I had coaches who never tired of throwing new challenges at me. More often than not, it would come in the form of a variation on something I was starting to get comfortable with. It takes a dedicated coach to keep an eye on you, and know when you need that next challenge, one who lets ...
Patrick Anderson - Skill Saturday #19 - Left Handed Bounce Stops
มุมมอง 4.1K6 ปีที่แล้ว
Longer video this week. Show & tell on the subject of left handed dribbling, and specifically bounce stopping. A bounce stop is a very wheelchair basketball-specific term and skill, but it corresponds to picking up your dribble. It's one of the keys to unlocking the mystery of how to move a wheelchair and play basketball at the same time with only two hands (or less in some cases...shout out to...
Adaptive Device for Piano Sustain Pedal
มุมมอง 1.9K6 ปีที่แล้ว
I started playing piano when I was 7 or 8 years old. After I lost my legs at age 9, I kept playing but I never gave much thought to the pedals. I suppose I compensated by learning to crawl around the keyboard decently well, but I also compensated by playing too many notes. Too busy. Trying to fill the empty space where sustain should be. Along came good friend Ira Newborn, who wouldn't accept t...
Patrick Anderson - Skill Saturday #18 - Layups In 1 Minute
มุมมอง 3K6 ปีที่แล้ว
The game can be complex. It gets complicated sometimes. That's ok. It shows we're working hard and thinking creatively, trying to wring out every last drop. But sometimes the game comes down to which team makes the most layups. The easy ones. Make your bunnies, as Coach Bowesy used to stay. (Still does I'm sure) It pays to focus on this building block, whether young or old, rookie or veteran, t...

Hi Patrick, im looking at the rgk elite but im slightly bigger than the 125kg payload, could i use shortened pins on wheels to counter this, im 130kgs
No problem. RGK can make a heavy duty frame that handles up to 160kg I believe.
@patrickdanderson thanks for the reply Patrick, I'm finding it really hard to get any information from the only rgk supplier where I live.
Nice dk3
Hello, great work, do you use specific wheels for tarmac, then different wheels for indoors
Thx for sharing. Those of us coming up in the game appreciate it.
I was discouraged from taking lessons as a kid because I have CP and couldn't use the pedals. Now I'm a middle aged mom and decided to learn how to play and hit that pedal on my terms. Your adaptation reminds me a bit of Sure Grip push/rock hand controls. Really ingenious!
Hello Patrick, I am the son of Sergio Vera Peralta of the Argentine national team.
GOAT
I m also a Moroccan player but i don't have a good wheelchair 😥
Hi, how can I join you?
I want to play on Patty’s team. We’d ball out
He plays for Team Canada and the New York Wheelchair Knicks. Yea not happening bro sorry
Patrick, you're a legend
👍
I'm totally paralyzed from the chest down. Do you know of any adaption that I can use for my upper body or head? Where can I get one of these?
الووووووو

Hiii
Thank you
I met you in nationals in Kansas this year
Maybe it's an overreaction but even after 4 years this still blows my mind.

Hello my friend that is amazing what you do I hope you have a great day 😊🎄
I’m also a huge fan
Hi Patrick do you know somebody name Mike McCready and David McCready that’s my dad and uncle and did you go to James McQueen?
I’m about to start playing wheelchair basketball. (2 years into having a sci) …I used to okay hoops in college, but I’m 47 now. Any advise or suggestions on how to become a student of this new variation of hoops to me? I assume diet and exercise will help too? Thanks!
Hi, hope you got yourself sorted, if not 'I'd recommend finding a local wheelchair basketball team and you should get good help.
I've just seen this video after searching for months on ways to adapt my piano sustain pedal. I have no feeling in my feet due to neuropathy and have been playing the piano for 32 years and used to teach. I can no longer play much as it causes too much nerve pain to use the pedal, which my foot falls off a lot as I can't place it. 3 years on from this video and I wonder if you have the plans yet as I have someone who could build one for me.
amaziig love it. WORKING HARD!
This 1on1 is better than the highlight reel of the Paralympic Games. Chair skills are insane🤯
Welcome to Galatasaray😍

Very Beautiful
