It’s a pretty good cover, I just wish we could hear his raw voice and not the processed echoey effect we hear here. I think the echo takes away from what could be a stellar cover; it just makes it sound like it was recorded in a giant warehouse with zero sound dampening.
Coming back to this after his country album. I am by no means a hater of country music but I feel like it’s just so surface level. It’s so poppy and cut and paste. I’m still holding out hope he does an entire folk album after hearing this and songs like feeling Whitney and stay.

I always stumble across this video and come back to watch it because how great of a cover it is. Every time I think to myself "Wow if 'Post Malone '/Austin RIchard had just chosen a different genre I'd probably have been a fan". Incredible talent and I really think he should really re-consider the silly 'rap' stuff
His latest albums aren’t rap. In fact his most recent album is a country album lol
@@spencerwarner9268 I am no expert on the genre but from what I have heard (from the one co-worker who would constantly play it) country isn't much improved from the direction 'rap' has gone. It's the same formulaic bull crap, but instead of mumbling over similar beats with country they just use the stereotypical country 'tone' and sing about pick up trucks and beer

Can we all just take a second and recognize that this little boy chased his damn dreams is at the top of the world now. This video is 10 years old. Anything is possible. To you young musicians, don’t stop giving it your all and most importantly don’t stop believing in yourself. You will have your time if you just put the work in.
that is a dream that a lot will not catch. Not everyone can be a star. The message we should be giving these young musicians is to chase their passions, but to know that it's like playing the lottery.
