This was the first outing for the .44 caliber (.429) and 3rd for the .58 caliber. I had previously sighted them in for 50 yards with about 2" groups. First shot was at about 30 yards and second was at 15, third was at about 50. The video is not the best as I was relying on the gopro in the narrowest view and not the best light. First deer came about 6:30 am then every thirty minutes afterwards....

I add a pin or hollowpointing probe to the Lee Bullet mold. As a proof of concept it worked great (everything was concentric and a lot of weight was taken off maintaining length) but the hollow points did not fill out at the tips. So it needs refinement. Cool build! I've been eyeballing one of my old Crosman 160s (may just use a QB instead) with similar thoughts. My machinist friend was checking out my 2240 pcp money pit, and I saw the light bulb pop up as he looked at the safepac unit. I need to get back to hanging out on GTA and see what I've been missing. ... Oh, did you try pressure cooking the can????

This gives me ideas. I play Airsoft and have been considering how to convert an old Walmart Paintball marker into an HPA Airsoft rifle. I was trying to go Semi-auto mag fed but I may experiment with bolt action. I will use a pressure regulator so the little 6mm plastic BB is not deadly.

Powerful airguns are very loud and do need quite a long barrel to be efficient. It makes it difficult to add a suppressor with a real noise reduction effect without adding much length to an already long gun. I do own a PCP from a well known brand with a "suppressor" covering all the barrel length.... this airgun is one of the loudest i own... IMO this type of suppressors is more a "llok good" thing than an efficient solution.
@@DIMZEROCENT Thanks for the info, I’m not very familiar with modern air guns and assumed it would be similar to firearms. Not that I have much more knowledge about suppressors in general. I think I read that air gun suppressors aren’t NFA items, no tax stamp.

I recently built my own pcp as well , the air chamber holds 2200 pcp on a tiny resivour my 1st tune was pushing over 40 FPE but only getting 3 shots , Im down in the high 20s now getting 14 shots . I really like seeing what people are able to do on thier own RE : building your own PCP , I knew nothing at all about tuning or how to build with my only mechanical background being I know how to work on bicycles . I watched tutorials learned as I went and was super conservative on how high I would pressurize it 2000 PSI seemed crazy high and I had it a month before I pumped to the working pressure of 2200 PSI . Love to hear you just do a show and tell us How and what parts , talk about your airgun background, seeing you shoot targets is great you can see it's powerful but I would love to hear more about your build .
Be very carefull at those pressures. If thing go boom it will be very bad if you're close
@@noidontthinksolol always pays to keep safety in mind , the unit I put on my 2240 is called a Safepac, you have to take the valve out of the gun then take the back half off this is the part where the CO2 cartridge pushes up against the seal then screw in place a CNC machined Aluminum tube , it can be safely pumped up to 2400 psi , if you are interested have a look by typing in Safepack installation , there is a machinist named Rob , AKA froggy airguns that makes and distributes these units . If you want to check out a horror story of a guy using the highpack system which goes together like any other pcp but has segments that are screwed together and then the valve itself is oringed and then Pinned with 2 or more screws. The major flaw in that system is the valve can become a projectile if something fails , in this case it did and shot the valve thru the Dudes Leg . His name is Randy and he was or is known in the airgun world. Type in exploring the PCP explosion. Randy definitely came close to death because he had the riffle pointed up and was target shooting just prior to it failing. Would have left a big hole in his head for sure .
