Welcome to a new video! Today I'm checking out Delta's Boeing 717 product as Delta is now down to one year left operating these planes as they will be retired in December 2025. These planes definitely have seen better days and the interior was in worse for wear condition with tray tables stained and colored on. You can see how scratched and dirty the exterior windows are in the video. Either way, it is always fun to fly on these former AirTran, t-tail airplanes.

It will make you stop for In-N-Out Burger in Los Angeles, CA. My friend, Ryan Ridderbush, does that after going on vacation with his family!
I took a flight on American Airlines from Chicago to Los Angeles with my grandparents Laura and Hozie and their son Bill Burke, my father, in 2012 and 2015.
Fine video man! I travelled to Peoria several years ago on Allegiant Airlines. I was actually on one of the last MD 80 flights before they reitred the MD 80's. It wasnt the last flight as it did a return back to St Pete but it was close enough. I live in Tampa Bay area and still have family up there in Bloomington/Normal. I found the Peoria airport very easy to navigate through. Everyone from the TSA agents to the staff at Allegiant check in were all very friendly.
@@briantampa1164 Thank you and thanks for watching! That qualifies for a final flight status! :-) Those MD80s were truly unique aircraft. It looks like PIA will be getting some visits from the new Allegiant 737 MAX aircraft so I’m excited to see those at the airport. Tampa is on my travel list for this year so looking forward to touring your neck of the woods. I agree with all of those sentiments - PIA is a great airport experience all around. I’ll have more PIA videos coming up soon!
Nice video! I know I’m late!😂 But I came back to look at this video after I found out that UA is adding nonstop flights to DEN from PIA on the 175. Ik you probably don’t know but, do you think UA will use the newer expansion at PIA for the flights to Denver? Or do you think they would use gate 8 or something nearby gate 6 like they use now?
Thanks for watching! That is a definite possibility that they could use that expansion since it has sat vacant ever since United moved to Gate 6 at PIA. My gut feeling is that they will use Gate 7 since I'm sure both PIA and United would prefer to have operations right next to each other. Gate 7 has been mothballed for a bit so they will have to get that going again. I believe Allegiant is using Gate 8 at the moment. My hope is that PIA secretly has plans to add an additional airline (Delta, Frontier) and will let them use the newer expansion.
@ I looked on FR24 and UA uses gates 6 and 8 currently they have a flight from ORD that lands at 5:23PM and parks at gate 8. The CRJ spends the night at PIA and takes off at 6:30AM the other UA flight from ORD lands at 9:30PM and takes off at 8:15AM. It uses Gate 6 Unless FR24 is wrong. When looking at the map it appears that gate 7 doesn’t exist. At least according to the gate numbers painted on the tarmac. I’ve seen some Allegiant planes use gates 9 when gate 10 is being occupied.
@@JD-Films1 I bet United and Allegiant do some re-shuffling with the gates. It looks like PIA will have 3 United planes stay the night so they could occupy gates 6, 8 and 9. Which could prompt Allegiant to just take over the 2 gates in the new expansion to avoid headaches.
@ I guess we’ll see in march😀
@ And fingers crossed we see some more low cost carriers popping up at PIA in the future!
Just perfect 👍
Thank you and thank you so much for watching!
I lived in Peoria, Illinois (1984-86) and I am from Miami, Florida and used to fly on TWA and Ozark PIA- STL- MIA -STL-PiA dozens of times and only used MIA-ORD- PIA one times flying on Britt Airways
@@JoseHernandez-xn6tp What a cool route network! I wish Peoria still had that STL route - I believe that would do very well. Great throwbacks with TWA & Ozark. Thanks for sharing!
What were you doing in Omaha
No LI Flyer here unless Red tells him to reply to my comments lol
Do u know who QFS Aviation is?
Lots of construction at OMA
This is the equivalent of an a380 landing at eppley
🤣 No wonder they rolled out the red carpet for our arrival!
@@309Aviation I bet they had to close the adjacent gates bc of the wingspan
@@Swissspookie That and there is major construction going on at OMA as they are going through a complete re-do which is well needed!
@@309Aviation definitely, I'm english but my some of my family are unfortunately american so I have to fly through this monstrosity to see them 😂
@@Swissspookie Slowly but surely the airports in the United States will get better so hopefully next time you're visiting the States, you'll be able to have an updated airport experience! 😃

When Boeing remembered how to build airplanes.
The way the skyline glistens on the wing. 🤤
One of my favorite views! It’s a beautiful reflection!
Hello, I would like to know how I can use airline logos, can you help me?
I live in the DC area! I love IAD! Great airport! Butter!
Really enjoyed my time in the DC area and had a great time at IAD!

A beautiful city!
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
You’re very welcome and thank you for watching!
Thank you for this video! Everything about it was amazing! I also wasn't expecting that view towards the end mixed with such soothing music. It was beautiful to watch. Thanks again and safe travels!!
Thank you for the kind words and thank you for watching! Those city views provide all the warm, fuzzy feelings.
Best feeling is when wheels touch down in your home town, this feels when I land at ORD from Sao Paulo!
Many happy returns home! Thanks for watching!
Chicago resident here.....if you watch this too many times the city sends you a bill, just a heads up.
Ha! I might owe the city some $$ just for posting…
i’m sorry but that view of the Chicago skyline was absolutely stunning! this approach was 11/10 absolutely beautiful/breathtaking
The best skyline in the world! Thanks for watching!
This is how its done. No music, no long dubstep intro, no massive captions, no narration - just exactly as the video title has said!
Much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed it - thanks for watching!
I still like spending a bit of time in the airport lounge before boarding
@@vuho2075 The United lounges at LAX & ORD are both phenomenal!
Really nice. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
the view is so amazing ❤️
1000% agreed!
Living in Park Ridge, Illinois and watching the various aircraft take off and land at nearby O'Hare is fun. Always look for the various foreign carriers like Air France, Japan Airlines, British Airways and so many others.
I’m jealous of the vantage point you have - always a treat to see those heavies!
Greatest city to ever exist. Edit: *I wish this was 4k!*
Absolutely! I’m looking into some new filming equipment that will have 4k so stay tuned!

That landing looked softer than the ones I experienced over there.
It was a butter landing! Major props to the flight crew.
How DIRTY those flaps are !
United could send it through the wash here and there!
it takes about 3 minutes from when you cross over the lake until you land by air....by car thas almost an hour with the traffic in chicago. great video.
But you're also going at a speed of 180 MPH.
Better views from the air! Thanks for watching!
777-200? Isnt it a little bit outdated bruv??
They're well taken care of by United and as long as they're cared for - they provide an enjoyable flight experience!
Dated? Perhaps. But considered by many as Boeing's best, along with the 300ER.
Nice view
Great video! I'm glad you captured the remarkable deflection of the inboard flap. I flew the 72, 73, 75 & 76 but never had the seniority to hold the 77. Happy landings
Still that's an incredible list of legendary aircraft to have flown! The 777 has such unique characteristics including the noises that it makes. Thanks for watching!
For anyone who cares, that flap segment between the inboard and outboard flaps, the one that’s moving a lot while the aircraft is on short final, is called a “flaperon.” It functions as a flap when drooped with the main flaps but the deflections are designed to augment the roll control of the ailerons, particularly at slower airspeeds. If you watch carefully, you can see it deflect upward when the aileron out towards the wingtip, deflects up. The movement of the aileron is much more subtle than the movement of the flaperon.
@@TenMinuteTrips Great explanation. The flaperon is a good supplement to roll control. Like the spoilers, which aid in roll control way before the aileron reaches full deflection, the flaperon and roll control spoilers help even out the spanwise load on the wing resulting from roll commands. Smaller forces occurring all along the wingspan create less stress than a large force out at the tip.
Amazing machines ! Never gets old!
Indeed they are! I love flying on the 777. Thanks for watching!
the approach was mesmerizing, the landing.. not so much.
100% agreed on that! It was a pretty bouncy landing and definitely a hard first impact but what matters is that the plane was landed safely!
@@309Aviation That’s true
City so big over there USA I live in Australia ` Brisbane ` makes our city look like a country town. Lovely Video really in joy it. Love the sound of flaps coming down. I Subscriber. G`Day from Australia..
Thank you for watching and subscribing! It’s a really jam packed city when you think about it with it being right on Lake Michigan but it is beautiful. The 777 has classic sounds! G’day!
Gorgeous skyline.
And so iconic!
Very nice video, keep it up! Subscribed 😀
Thank you very much!! 😃
One of THE most beautiful cities to fly into at night. I recall a flight I took from SFO to DTW as we flew over Chicago, clouds were lit from beneath that were surrounding the skyscrapers. I sat pressed against the window taking it all in.
Agreed! I do the exact same thing, it’s so mesmerizing. Thanks for watching!
Nice I've been on this flight before.
It’s a very popular route!
Did you try the $100 slots? A few years back some fellow won twice, two six figure amounts.
I wish I could be that bold at the slot machines! I usually stick with the penny slots - I’ve had some luck in the past. Props to that fellow for risking it and winning big!
@@309Aviation ok, the video of the early morning arrival into ORD was very impressive BTW. Both the quality of the video and the quality of the airmanship of the pilot. The pilot set the throttles and never changed the power setting throughout the stabilized approach. Must of been a calm day in the Windy City? Looking forward to your next video.
@@cherifbar I appreciate the kind words! All props to the pilot for a beautiful and smooth approach and landing and lucky us - it was a calm day on the lake! I’ll have plenty more videos coming in the near future as I have a large amount of travel planned. Thanks for watching!
