      Hello Pedro! It seems you have a very nice version of the console! I never had the chance to get my hands on one of those but i looked around for some info and so, here it is: db.hfsplay.fr/files/2019/09/18/saturneu_2SyPH12.pdf Not sure where is the actual info, but it always comes handy to have the service manual around... Then, i saw this: www.retrosix.wiki/laser-tuning-sega-saturn It LOOKS like, you have to deal with R114 and play around in small increments I wouldn't touch the R104, as the writer suggests though... I really hope this helps, let us know if you made it after all - Do not forget, there is an alignment resistor on the side of the laser pack (yellow). In my case, music only could be played as welll. ... Many thanks for watching!!....

    @CyberhugTechnologies could you please explain exactly what you did? It is not really clear for me. I'm sorry for asking. You used double sided tape as I understood from another comment, right? But you taped it between the upper and lower ribbon cable, right? And you taped the lower one against the metal when the laser is in its maximum position at the motor, right? So why double sided tape when only one side is used? Could you please help me? Thank you bro

    • @CyberhugTechnologies
      @CyberhugTechnologies 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Ben! you got it almost right, the goal is to have the ribbon stable on the metal underneath - I used double sided tape to hold it lower than the surface of the upper part of the cover so that it wouldn't be scratched anymore. The idea is to get it to the maximum length indeed because the laser goes up and down and it is not right to have it tight. Thank you so so much for watching! Please, let me know you did it after all.!

    I built one of these from the kit. Like other home computers, they were hard to get hold of, and we had to harangue them to get them to dispatch. It would have worked first time had my brother not told me to plug the 2k of RAM (4 chips) into the wrong sockets. The picture was very poor, and eventually they told us that in some kits they had mistakenly supplied PNP instead of NPN transistors for the video amplifier; when replaced, it fixed the problem. I tried doubling the clock speed to 2MHz and it worked fine, but the 300 baud cassette interface became 600 baud and was not really workable without using a reel to reel recorder.

    • @CyberhugTechnologies
      @CyberhugTechnologies 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! This is probably the most interesting question! Well, it depends on the game, if it is demanding, but mostly depends on the HDD itself. For example, i have experienced slow motion at some point when playing with the model that uses an IDE HDD - while at the same time, using a SATA HDD instead, the experience gets far better! If the game pushes the hardware to the limits though, there are not many things to do! thank you for dropping by and for the key-question!

    Factory ROM is a mask ROM, they don't get erased, but they do go bad. They can go bad in such a way that all the data pins constantly show HIGH, which in turn will be read as FF by your programmer. That's my theory on your mystery.

    Nice job , another on saved from landfill ;) I'd be very surprised if that ROM chip were blank. It's most probably a broken connection within the rom chip itself to the "chip enable", 5v or even the gnd pin, which would mean that the MSX or your EPROM programmer would be unable to read from it. The MSXs are nice machines, some great games were made for it and even some colecovision games were ported to it. I've just seen your sub count, congrats on making it to 1000 and have a happy new year buddy ;)

    Atari were making 520Mb and 1040MB STFM and STE. They may have made factory upgrades to 4160MB but they never sold them here in the UK. I bought a 2nd hand Atari STE and shop upgraded it to 4160Mb in 1989 (they added dual ROM at the same time) the 4160 label was not included in the shops kit so my label remains a 520. The blue 4160 labels have only been available since the coming of Ebay. Your Atari STE appears to be in a very good condition, you even have an original working mouse. I suspect that whoever upgraded the RAM refurbished the whole machine and re-badged it. The latest Atari RAM upgrades are considerably better than the 1980's ones, so if your upgrade was recent it's probably better than a genuine factory upgrade. The hard drives you could buy for an Atari St in the 1980's are no longer available but you can get an Atari hard drive emulator, I use an SD4ST. Your Atari floppy drive may die, the rubber drive band goes first, get an Atari floppy drive emulator called a Gotek.

      Hi there! It is all about trial 'n Error but if you wish you can attach a multi-meter to test ~ around 600 Ω or less. The logic and the idea is the same like the normal DVDs, less resistance, better flow of data bits... Please, bare in mind it is a fix that works temporarily - after 2-3 adjustments the laser will be completely dead - but this might take a year or two! thanks for watching mate!...

    Very interesting. I've never seen a functional Atom. In fact, the only ones I ever saw were at the back of a cupboard in my school computer room. I started secondary school in the UK in 1985, and by then the school was using BBC Micros, but had previously had a few Atoms. They were very dusty and had clearly not been used for years by the time I saw them. Cool it still works and you got a decent picture. Does it support lower case text? I'm guessing it doesn’t.

    Got my ps2 out of storage after 13 years, had this issue and was pretty bummed out and thought it was a lost cause, found your video and it completely fixed my issue, had to take apart the system 10+ times adjusting slowly but it finally worked! Thank you so much!

    Made a ghetto style cable just to check if this would work on my phone and the only thing I struggled with was finding the perfect equaliser setting (1khz+ max dB, below that min dB, always at max volume). Otherwise, tapes playing would not be recognised. However, sound coming from my laptop connector still won't play on the speccy, it could be related to fact it has integrated microphone.
