      I know if you use the native DJI receiver, that the settings will stick, I can’t imagine it’s any different using the Action 5 Pro - but as I don’t own the Action 5 Pro, I can’t confirm this unfortunately.

    Currently, on Coegco 1000M/100M cable. Moving soon and getting 3GB fiber from Bell. I got an Opnsense machine, and the cpu is too old for single threaded pppoe. This seems like a possibility, i can even spoof the mac address in opnsense and set it up in the admz on the hh4000. Thanks for the video. Hopefully, i can get it working, and soon, Bell can give us a real bridge mode.

      That’s weird because the kit I ended up keeping and the one I did the testing with in the video worked fine. You heard the sample in the video I’m sure. Since that video, there’s been a firmware update to address sound quality which is subtle, but better. You sure your mic wasn’t defective?

    Bought mine 2 years ago. What a piece of junk my CalDigit TS3a Hub is. One of the most UNRELIABLE hardware kit I currently own, but will soon dump. Do not care that it is in a nice case. Many forums on this CalDigit product have found tons of problems: thunderbolt device disconnects, ethernet failure, overheating so bad it melts plastic tabletops .... etc. Never purchasing Caldigit again. This is an honest review - thank you. Also like that you have a hackintosh. Ethernet on the TS3a is unreliable - full stop. Ethernet is not rocket science any longer, but Caldigit has not been keeping up it seems. I have been connecting computer equipment since 1978 and even got to meet Prof Metcalfe once briefly thru his friend Pat McGovern founder of IDG and a great fellow who passed away too soon.

    Practically speaking, you don't necessarily need the SPF adapter to bypass the modem. The modem (both GigaHub and HH4k) itself has a bypass feature built-in to perform a bypass and do direct PPPoE connections. This is achieved through the DMZ option of the modem, which will bypass the modem altogether. In fact, it is possible to set up to 5 simultaneous PPPoE lines through the interface on the modem. I'm on a Bell 3G line, and I run this setup with an OPNSense setup using a 10G NIC adapter, I get around 3200 up/down, and I am able to nearly max that on speedtests on Windows going through a 10G switch (Modem > OPNSense > Switch > Win). I have unfiltered access to the PPPoE line this way. One thing to note, and it likely doesn't come up for a lot of people, is that maxing out the line will cause drop of the connection, I started a thread back in 2022 about this issue when I first signed up to 3G and needed to move 40Tb of data: www.dslreports.com/forum/r33444694-Internet-Home-Hub-4000-bridge-drops-internet-at-3Gbps Not sure if that's still an issue. Goes back to reinforce the point about dated infrastructure.

    This is exactly the video I was looking for! I wasn’t buying this microphone just because of uncertainty, but as soon as I watched this video, I bought a white DJI Mic 2 on sale. I also got a kit from Amazon Turkey. I’ll test the 32-bit setup and then return it. Thank you so much!

    • @TechMixr
      @TechMixr หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice kit to keep (I ended up keeping mine) - but it borders on being underhanded (paywalling a feature with additional hardware with an additional cost that clearly is in the device itself) DJI COULD release a firmware update to enable it without one of their compatible cameras or the DJI receivers being required. But that would make too much sense.

    • @kadirsenkal810
      @kadirsenkal810 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ Definitely a great kit and worth its price, but unfortunately, I don’t have the budget for it. I spent all my budget on the FX30. However, I prefer Rode as a brand. I wish the Rode Pro TX was sold separately.

      There isn’t a true bridge mode on the homehub 4000 / gigahub. We have to use PPPoE, even with Bell’s almost-bridge mode. It’s not ideal. Maybe I’ll do a new video explaining the bypass, the benefits and what Bell is still getting wrong.

    I think it’s kinda funny - and no shade to anyone here, I totally get why people do it - when people preface criticism of mkbhd’s speeding by admitting that they’ve occasionally broken the speed limit, as if it’s hypocritical to take issue with someone doing 60MPH over the posted limit in a RESIDENTIAL AREA. I mean, I get it. I took a moment to check myself and go, hey, people make mistakes - was it really that bad? And then I’m like, YES, that wasn’t an accident! And I think his response to the backlash so far has also reflected poorly on his character. You’re right when you talk about image and parasocial relationships. We can’t help but build up an image of how we perceive someone to be based on their content alone. I personally had a lot of respect for the guy: he pours a lot of work into his channel and seems like a nice guy. But now knowing he sometimes drives recklessly because he has an expensive car, that has shifted my perception and will definitely make his videos less appealing to me going forward.

    Im gonna give you a critical response, it’s an app. He didn’t hurt anyone, he took the feedback and switched gears on how he went about it. Most app developers don’t face everyone the way he did and Im saying that as someone who isn’t a big fan of his content. This is no hate to you directly but this is another clickbait video about a gigantic nothing burger.

    • @TechMixr
      @TechMixr หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the critical response. However, I have to ask, did you watch the whole video? Because he almost hurt someone or himself. The beginning was about the app. This isn’t clickbait, this is actually messy. The other part was about him doing more than double the speed limit in a zone where there’s posted signs for kids crossing.

    • @Blitterbug

      Wot?? No hate, but calling Shaun out for clickbait? K then... I'm a reasonably astute guy who _hates_ clickbait with a burning passion, and can smell it a mile off. Absolutely none of it here. Please, please use a dictionary before using words my man. Not to mention he qualified every criticism he made with statements like 'may be none of my business', etc. Guy couldn't be less clickbaity if he tried. 'What are you doing, Marques?' is both the title _and_ the content. Thus the very antithesis of 'clickbait'.

      Someone who took the time to watch the entire video. 🙏🏾 - I’m actually floored at some of the responses I’ve been getting. There’s one viewer (who if they’re reading this, I actually hid them from the channel so good luck commenting into the abyss) - who kept calling it horeshit with their comments (plural). Another user immediately out of the gate just decided to call me fat repeatedly and then wondered why I got offended. This comment isn’t the worst, but it indicates to me that the whole video wasn’t viewed. But I thank you so much for defending my point. 🙏🏾 - it’s not click bait everyone, watch the video in its entirety.

      I wish I could have pinned this response to the main thread. I was tempted to make a response video to all the misconceptions in the comment section I received (and removed because most were offensive) but to be honest, there’s no winning with some viewers who either didn’t understand the sentiment of the video - or didn’t watch the whole thing.

      It is very hard to disagree with you. It’s sad. I think he’s into tech still, but if he came out and said he’s tired of making videos about it and that he’s burned out on it, I wouldn’t be surprised. I think the most cringe part is the apology tweet. I didn’t say this in the video, but as cliche as this statement is, I believe it rings true: he’s not actually sorry, more, he’s sorry he got caught.

    I like this content. I want to plug an ISP's SPF directly into my router. Bell doesn't offer Fibre in my building, BUT Teksaavy does. Show us how you do it.

    • @TechMixr
      @TechMixr หลายเดือนก่อน

      So I read this before. Here’s the issue. The way I’m doing it is mainly for Bell and some other US based ISPs. It won’t work for Rogers and some of the other ISPs here. I wouldn’t want to do that video only because it would be false information for someone in your position who doesn’t have access to fibre to the home from Bell. Who is Techsaavy leasing the fibre line from, Rogers? If so, what packages do you have access to?
