"Turbo", better known to us poplockers in LA as Boogaloo Shrimp. What would LA Poplockin be without him?? This is the single-most influential popper from our culture, known on the streets and underground, as well as Hollywood and pop culture.
Boppin Andre
มุมมอง 31K17 ปีที่แล้ว
Known as the founder of the Boppin style, Boppin Andre Diamond has contributed more to establishing this particular style (of the poplockin artform) than any other one person.
Mr. Animation
มุมมอง 7K17 ปีที่แล้ว
If you come to LA, you will most likely see Animation (of Air Force Crew) performing at Venice Beach, The Promenade, or Hollywood. This LA Poplock OG has been holding it down nonstop since 1982.
Medea Sirkas
มุมมอง 5K17 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is another clip of Medea Sirkas, featuring "Newberry" from Oakland, demonstrating some of the earliest roots of the Boppin style (he is the one in the chair). While Frisco was originating "Struttin" (and Robot), Oakland was originating "Boogaloo" (and Robot). Each had their own style of Robottin, and the Oakland style (of Robottin), is where the LA "Boppin" (first called "Bottin") style ev...

Rip bro ❤
RIP Mr. Bruno Falcon. You were an amazing human being. Thank you. ❤️
This is one of those times where Boppin Andre, a master of playing to the audience, failed to do so. Or was the soundtrack not accurate? Andre was hitting early, according to the YT video + soundtrack. Perhap Andre excels at seeing his audience, because he has acknowledged that he lives for the audience and its reaction to his incredible talents. Regardless, this was an underwhelming performance when considering Andre's incredible high performances (he is the foremost master as well as pioneer of bopping, which IMO eclipses the EB's by far). It's interesting to note that Andre, with such dramatic stage lighting and what appears to be a pre-choregraphed (or potentially so) performance, falls so flat of some his simply SUPER funky freestyles.
Baddass poppers the pioneer's
This guy's got no soul. No... I don't mean his dancing is uninspiring, or lacks passion, or leaves me unimpressed. I mean none of that. I mean it literally.... he has no soul... :)
So great
Where is the full video
Just off the charts phenomenal 👍🏾
*ABSOLUTE NASTINESS!!!!!!*

Summer of 1984.

You can also hear burn in Mr. T's video "Be Somebody or Be Somebody's Fool." Why "Burn" wasn't released properly on wax is strange as hell to me. it's bad as hell!

whats boardmans song? shit hits so hard i cant find it!
Bro his fucking pause are sick and body control !!!!!
Exactly...this explains how Oakland Boogaloo and Frisco Strutting influenced dance styles outside of Cali to certain degree. There were even strutters in the Philippines during the 70s. We had 2 big military bases there. I have relatives in Hawaii who were OG poppers and their dance style almost exactly mirrored the Bay Area style.
Hi
popular culture ruins everything. they want to join in but found they weren't good enough to Bboy or Pop so they invented a lame mediocre version which is the dance genre we refer to as Hip Hop. ushered in by flakes like madonna.
Lol this is hilarious. This is Andre not even trying. He's soooooo sick I spent six hours with him and in that time I probably got 2000% better at every style of popping
that`s from the video "breakdance gang" i have the original video here at home!!! great old style...
Whats the song!
Please what's the name of the last song that Tempo absolutely murders!!!???
yep Tru Max, I agree... I'm amazed at how more people aren't into Funk and Electric Funk, but hey, look at this generation... so soft, so crazy, in so many ways.
Name of the song is "Body Talk" by The Deele
@Starflite07 Dude this track is just too dope for real......... Electro funk was way passed its time. Thank God Kraftwerk & Afrika Bambaataa were around when times were tough. Peace!

TUNE N2 ME,HAA !!
@b00too well put, the Bay graduated the scene into something new now, earlier in late 60's, washington soul group the Unifics were kinda doing sync dancing, instead of the net, the info/dance/music/culture flowed by Greyhound bus, guys in the service, people coming home from visiting Family across country real deep - peace
GO2; Frankie.d Trendy dayz
boppin style is is part of poppin....popping is not popping if its no on beat..robotic is just robotic...if you robot on beat its bopping....boppin andre is the guy that started it
where can i get one of these outfits?!?!?!?
Believe me, I've asked plenty of people, but those who know the bopping style are generally unwilling to share. You don't really see this with other styles. I just want to know what constitutes bopping, but I've never gotten a straight answer.
I don't understand the secrecy of bopping.
P-TOWN!!!! lol
I aint gonna front! they're doing there thing! i wonder If they still do the Carnival
The EBs were so good, that they barely even got mentioned in the 82/83 documentary "Breakin n Enterin". Here's these "creators" and "they are the best", yet nobody is even mentioning them, and they themselves aren't even IN the documentary, showing the culture of Poppin at that time, all the way from the Southbay, to Hollywood, to LA, to The Radiotron, to Hollywood blvd at night............ Yet the suburb kids of today actually believe that the EBs owned everything.
The way it got transformed was that in the late 90s, the EBs went around and told everyone that they created Poppin. They targeted mostly suburb kids, because they knew they could easily sway and control them. Now you have these kids runnin around thinkin that they rep the new generation of Poppin, when nothing could be further from the truth. The sad part of that, is that when people see all these suburb kids "reppin" Poppin, they get a whack idea of the artform. It's a black eye.
Hell Ya Homie POMONA Put's It Down
type in 'breakin' trailer' on youtube click on the first or second video cnt remember which one it is and yu see them in black and red for a couple of seconds
yeah they on stage at the radiotron and they're in the movie as well.
