Ever wonder why depression is so common these days? The key to sucess and Hapiness is "Purpose"
Seems like everyone understands but me, where are we getting these loose wires and what exactly did you snip? What do you mean ground I thought all metal in car was ground…can someone explain to me like I’m 5
Great troubleshooting. Starting with the cheap stuff first is good. Starter is $700 here. Want to be sure of the problem before shelling out
Great video worked for my 06 SRT8
You Sir are awesome and saved me from replacing the starter. I disconnected ground from fire wall wire brushed and it’s good as new. Thank You for the video
Great job Gilford, spot on!
Thank you I’m hoping this is my problem too!
I am very grateful to the author of this video, by watching the video I was able to solve the same problem with my jeep. I just want to add that I reinforced the ground next to the chassis and it was enough.
It’s been awhile since this video came out but thank you that helped out my issue right way, very helpful video and str8 to the point
good for you
Great video. thanks for the valuable info
Mean bro that worked 4 my jeep diesel thanks my bro
Your story really is burned out $6 for a new one take your horn relay put it in place for your starter relay and then go buy a new horn relay
Didn't work
I'm having this issue and I just replaced the starter and it didn't solve my problem. This fix doesn't make sense though. If the relay clicks, then you have ground on pin 85 of the relay, and power from the ignition on pin 86. When those are activated, the relay closes the path between 30 (source power) and 87 (output). 87 of this relay goes to the spade connector on the starter. The thing about this fix is, all you did was connect pin 85 to ground, but if it was a good enough of a ground to click before the fix, then it was a strong enough ground... I'm not saying that Chrysler doesn't have terrible grounds all over the car, because they do. I just can't make sense of this fix. A relay doesn't click but not work unless it's broken...
I have the twin to this Jeep, It even has the same air freshener on the same vent. Had to have it towed home the other day with the same problem that has been a off and on problem for a couple years now. Can't trust the old girl! I was planning to change the starter when time permits but now I'm going to test as you did. Thanks for the tip! It all makes sense now! Stand by for an update..........
Did it work?
Just got exactly the same issues... many thanks brother. Best wishes from the UK 👍
Thank you so much for this video, extremely helpful. I truly appreciate your willingness to take the time and make a video solely to help other people out with there own repairs. Thank you kind Sir!
Great job thakns man god bless you
First off your rushing with an accent, this vid has a lot of likes, with no detail, no help at all, probably informative but I wouldn't know...
That's a bit unfair, he explained the problem and found a solution, it seems to have helped many.. result.👍
The problem is you have to understand basic electrical operations, he did a decent job but it isn’t for people that are novice to electrical work.
I am having the same click when trying to start. My ground and "always hot" are 12 volts. Back to square one lol
The bad ASD (Auto Shut Down) relay will make it do the same thing
My issue was a small Clip/ spade connector which was loose attached to the starter , I had those exact symptoms. It was not the ignition switch , it was not a ground issue at the relay box .
Thank you brother! Definitely the same issue
exactly what I got going for me . I hope it works for me. Thank you
so I swapped relays to check, nothing. I did this ground thing, nothing. New battery and all fuses look good. W T F
I tried this and it don’t help and my dash now has no power any advice I have a 2000 jeep grand Cherokee limited
I am goin for try this when I get home
Thx chief!
Wish I seen this b4 buying a starter and it not even being the starter
Thank you to help, this video was really good for me, please could you to do a heat transmission video when pull a trailer; I have big problem. Thanks in advance.
Thank u for this video if it wasn’t for me and my dad my brother would of spent alot of money on his jeep love the video! Hope it goes to more audiences that need this video 👍👍👍
Was about to buy and install a new starter but gonna try this first... Identical problem on my end! HOPEFUL!!! :)
I'm having that same issue in my 1996 ZG grand cherokee Laredo. Turn the key, dash lights come on and everything as it should then when I go to crank it over the starter relay clicks but nothing else happens so ill have to buy a multimeter and try this out.
Had a feeling it was the ground.. my friend is having the same problem with their 98.. i keep telling them the ground or positive cables.. need cleaning or traced and cleaned.. or reppaced.. but they just keep cleaning the battery terminals.. but not the other ones
Ok i did mine last night and today its started first turn evdry time...yaya thankyou
good man, iam gonna try
What if I’m getting no volts from the ground would that fix still fix my issue?
good catch bro. that was a good troubleshooting procedure
I have same problem on 2010 jeep commander, same no crank issues. did a new starter and relay, new battery and same issues.
This is exactly what's wrong with my brothers jeep thank you I'll do this for sure tomorrow when I have more daylight
if my starter ground is showing 12 v, what should i look into next?
This car fucking sucks
Great explanation, appreciate you making this video 👍👍👍
Your a smart man!!! This was a helpful video as I have the same issue with starting my jeep .thx
about to try it on my 08 jeep commander hope it works thank's in advance!
I have the same problem on my 2010 sentra , I think it does not have a starter relay , it has an IPD module. It clicks , no start.
THANK YOU i cleaned the ground beside the battery on fender and so far working good Cleaned both sides of washer with wire brush, cleaned bolt, cleaned fender attachment area
Thank God somebody finally stated where the ground was that they cleaned for this particular fuse box and relay. I've been asking all over the comments. Do you happen to own a Cherokee or a Commander?
My 2008 Commander just did the same thing this past weekend. It worked fine in the morning then went to start it in the afternoon and just got clicking sound. I was going to make plans to repair it but will check the relay first. I have good voltage on my battery also.
Great video helped a lot thank you 🙏
Man… I have an appointment at the dealer to fix my intermittent click, no start problem on my Jeep Commander. I had already changed the starter. Then had the same problem. They were going to charge me $180 diagnostic… The service guy already speculated, “if you have already changed the starter, and the fuses and relays are fine, it might be the ECM or a problem with the Power Control Distribution Center.” I’m guessing I wouldn’t have gotten out of there for under $750. Thanks. Great work… and really good video!
Yo gud shit bro! Thanks alot.
