Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. I’m just having consultations now, but will probably be having the same procedure. I’m also a nurse (retired) and have done a lot of research into the different types of reconstruction, but nothing helps as much as hearing the experiences of others. I hope your all healed up by now and happy with your results.

My surgery is in 2 weeks. I'm nervous but you helped me more than you'll know!

Did you realize how tattoos are bad for your immune system which is what cancer needs is a very strong immune system.

I’m just wondering did you look into the healthy alternatives that work for cancer that doctors are not allowed by law to tell you about?

My functional doctor in the United States says that women should not take blockers because we need hormones, even if we have cancer and you should ever never never remove lymph nodes

Did your doctor tell you tattoos harm your immune system

I have to make a decision on what kind of breast surgery/reconstruction I want done…mine is unilateral so I was considering DIEP…and seeing your positivity makes me lean toward this reconstruction option. Hey Lindy, thank you for the update and I am so glad you are cancer free and doing well !! To sleep better (I have the same problem as you) my doctor recommended cbd-oil. I have been using it for a short while and i think it helps me sleep longer.

Thanks for the update 🥰 I’m having my DIEP flap October 8. I had my bilateral mastectomy & reconstruction with implants Jan 30 of this year. I was a 26 year survivor of breast cancer so this diagnosis has really been difficult at 68 years old. My reconstruction left me with a Picasso chest so I’ve been waiting since June to have the DIEP surgery. Getting a bit anxious but ready to get these implants that are very painful out!!! May God bless you. My oncologist suggested I get CBD/THC over the counter gummies for the sleep issues I was having & they work great!!
