Remembering our founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew
Born in Singapore on September 16, 1923, Lee Kuan Yew became the longest-serving prime minister in world history. Lee rose through the ranks of his country's political system before becoming the first prime minister of Singapore on June 5, 1959. In 1962, Lee led Singapore into a merger with Malaysia, but three years later, Singapore left the union for good. Lee resigned as prime minister in 1990, and his son became prime minister in 2004. Lee died on March 23, 2015.
"I have no regrets. I have spent my life, so much of it, building up this country. There's nothing more that I need to do. At the end of the day, what have I got?
A successful Singapore.
What have I given up?
My life."

Lesson on LIFE

This is a great lesson on life and how we choose to prioritize it. It makes you stop and take a moment to evaluate what’s most important in life and how we all put too much emphasis on the little things in life. It’s a great reminder that our children our golf balls and should always come first!
YFP 2014 theme song - iGNiTE with lyrics
มุมมอง 5K9 ปีที่แล้ว
The theme song entitled, "Ignite", is based on the calligraphy Ikeda Sensei presented to the Young Women and Young Men divisions, “Together in mind, Together we advance”, during his first official visit to Singapore in 1988. One would associate the word “Ignite” to light, combustion or even explosion. This aligns with the Youth Friendship for Peace (YFP) Festival sub-theme: "Be the Light of Huma...

Mentor and I We are walking the path My mentor and I On the wings of our mission Together we fly Far to the east and far to the west Not stopping nor knowing a moment of rest. We are walking the path My mentor and I Turning sorrow to happiness Tears to smiles Playing our parts yet one in our hearts We turn a new leaf and make everyday a new start. We are made up of 7,107 islands. Some have grown into cities. Some are the epitome of tropical dreams. Some are just long enough to lay down on and get a tan. Big. Small. Sandy. Sunny. Relaxing. Exotic. Beautiful. Our little clutch of islands make for one long stretch of beach more than 15,500 kilometers. Here, no one is more than two hours away from a beach-side lounge chair - which explains w...

What a song for Buddha, or Nichiren?
The presentation failed to mention the most significant factor/resource to invest in the Philippines: the Filipino people. Not just to mention the population or BPOs, but it is very important to mention the fact that the the Filipino worker is highly - skilled and literate, with the ability to communicate proficiently in English much better than its Asian neighbors.
thx ninoy aquino

In the u.s they only show the thrashy & the poorest side of the philippines. My wife's Filipino I've been there. I was really surprised how modern this country is depending where u go. They got malls bigger than the u.s. I have seen way too many exotic cars parked around the area. I will certainly go back there for a visit.
They say the Philippine economy is one of the fastest growing in Asia. The truth is, our FDI hasn't reached 5% of Indonesia and we can't even beat Vietnam. Just my opinion.
honest opinion
true they're Suck our tren made in china wtf!
***** informative and logical ... thanks
you are right ... your argument is full of logics and facts ... for me it is an eye opener ...however a great deal of development is in good education ... continues training and development of the manpower ...thanks for sharing positive and enlightened ideas ...
in Philippines, the media (read : goverment) tends to lift up the country's achievements to build such opinion that the country is doing really good. Meanwhile in Indonesia the medias are bashing and bullying the goverment to their incompetence and failure to do this or to achieve that. which one is better to give optimism for citizens and pursue the better natioon? you decide..
The Philippines first needs to deal with the security of it's people from armed communist and terror groups spread across the country. National Security is one of the basic necessities for a stable society. Create low cost housing and remove homeless people from the street. Acquire and invest in local corporations and start focusing on heavy industry. Shipbuilding and electronics is the way to go. After that you can start building high speed trains.
Nice song, nice video! Thank You Victor Chua

That's why in the title it's "rising" but Philippines is still a third world country not a developing one. In the future it will become one, I hope.
stupid😑
i don't understand why they kept building projects in manila area whereas other part of the countryside have less or poor infrastructures that made people go to manila and worsening the congestion.

99 millions of populations. 99% are craps
Ok count me in with the 99% no problem.
While I was there recently l noticed all this building work going on and asked the taxi driver what was being built, he said blocks of condominiums, 3 days latter I see this on TV and they interviewed an outside real estate guy who said they are likely to go bankrupt before completion as the Philippines Government does nothing for its own country to attract xpats there to purchase, not only that they are building a new shopping mall the biggest yet the ones they have already locals can't afford the mall prices but go there for the Jolli B and aircons.
i felt, noticed the changes and progress of PH economy...even to myself...keep it up!

Investing in the Philippines is not wise due to corruption THE ONLY WAY IS TO BRIBE YOUR WAY BUT ONCE YOU PUT MONEY IN ONE HAND THE OTHER HAND COMES OUT THEN THEN 10 HANDS COME OUT EVEN THOUGH YOU PAY ALL THE BRIBES YOU MOST LIKELY WILL LOSE EVERYTHING IN COURT
I believed in this presentations that the Philippines is right now the best to invest if somebody wants to make money. I have said this before even during 1990's, If our political climate change from corrupt politicians to honest and transparent governance. Now that our President Aquino is honest and hardworking president Philippine economy will continue accelerating in unprecedented manner.
Whoa hardworking prez daw.. It's the pilipino people by themselves that's making the country's economy boom. Nakiride on lang c pnoy.
Ping Yu That is your opinion but not us.

Daminh negative thinkers na mga Pinoy dito, ibang bansa na nagsabi at naka pansin oh, tanga naman ng ibang mga commenters na Pinoy dito.
good government daw ampota..mga sinungaling,!!!
utooooooooooooooooooot
better to have basic salary than nothing at all.those rising infra are opportunities to filipino community slowly but surely.this all success cant be done by just one administration alone and expect we all going to live within the global standards of living...i believe that the current administration is doing his best to give us a brighter future not too fast as you are expecting, it is slowly but surely..look around you, is there a change? how about you? is there any changes? if none... the problem is in you...help and be part of the change and contribute to betterment of our nation..
I really agree with you, still OUR GREAT GOD ALMIGHTY is in control in what is happening in our country. MABUHAY ANG BANSA NATIN. GOD blessed the Philippines. PHILIPPINES IS FOR JESUS.!!
I really agree too. Infrastructure is quite an expensive thing in the Philippines since we are in a fragmented country separated by water in between islands. This means that resources have to travel by boat from different islands to create the required infrastructure. That's why it will be quite difficult for Tacloban to rebuild everything since resources simply can't be carried by road from one place to the next. They will rebuild Tacloban eventually but it will be slow. Let's just hope nothing as powerful as Typhoon Yolanda will hit Tacloban as it rebuilds.
