You can also sell your previous experience if you are extremely specialized. Historic work specifically has a very high barrier to entry, you can sell your backlog and your previous experience to firms looking to enter the market without experience.

I find it disgraceful how all the other comments are agreeing with you in the most condescending tone possible; this is legit a “Why y'all booing me? I'm right!” scene. Half the people are claiming you aren't paying your employees enough when you are legit simply stating “People are not perfect, even machines are not always perfect, otherwise they would never need repairs. Everyone in the company has a reason to be there, or they would not be there; even the CEO needs to help out sometimes.” yet, none of these people realize that said CEO is also a human who also has their own flaws. No employers are paying for 40% of the effort they expect. Employers in the trades are going to learn very quickly they will have to raise wages or go bankrupt because there is a far greater need for tradesmen than the number of tradesmen in the workforce. You personally speak about employees in a very condescending tone like you are better than them.

Oh it’s easy. I came of age some years ago and tried construction. Many drunks. Many unprofessionals. I worked for a week and did everything I was told to do and didn’t get paid my minimum wage. I chose another unrelated trade and found success. Boomers and gen X will find a way to shirk the blame down to the younger generation in the comment section but for my situation, pay someone or fire them there is no compromise.

Would it be the schooling route as in a project management degree or straight into working as a labourer to learn that in field experience. Love your vids by the way :)

It's important to understand the relation between PE stamped shops to validate the details in the shops as they relate to the efficacy of what's prescribed in the contract drawings. That is industry standard of care and there is no risk there. The risk lies where during the shop process an error or omission is identified and an Owner wants your PE to remedy the error or omission, and that I will not do. The Owner's Engineers and/or Architect's (depending on your scope), must make the change, and then we can proceed with the shops process and any associated dollars and time, that might be required (if any) via the change order process.

Selling, Closing, Negotiating are fundamental skills for all entrepreneurs and executives and I improve myself in training those skills daily, as a contractor and construction executive and now consultant, hard for me to say that those skills weren’t the most important, coupled with risk management and contract knowledge as a close second. As far as compensatory claims for delay are concerned, I hold the belt. All SALES.
