We are an indie game developer couple, my Wife and me. Started making 3D games in our free time several years ago.
Were inspired by our love of PC games, so we set out to create our own world.
Meanwhile, we met the Unity Game Engine and the best free 3D modeler software the Blender.
Here we try share our developer journey and experiences with You. Hope You will find somthing intresting :)

@Tannos 2023 I need help again. I have this big cave that I imported from blender, I placed a mesh collider in it but I only can stand on the roof of the cave not inside of the cave. I just go trough it, do you know what could be the problem?
Hi Caselli8409 I think the normal (face) orientation is the problem. Basicle faces normals show outside. Example if you add box in Blender, the faces show outside. If turn on show face orientation under the view your box outside faces will be blue, if go inside with camere its will be red. The blue part showing the texture, the red no. The Unity colliders use the same technic. Only works from the blue face orientation. The simplest solution in blender, select your object, go to edit mode, select all faces press ALT+N and chose flip normals. In this case the cave face orientation will be inside, so the inside part will be blue and the outside red. Now Unity handle the colliders inside. If you duplicate your cave, one face orientation normal one is flipped and place 2 cave in the scene, you can stand inside and outside on the cave too. Try turn off the outside cave mesh renderer to reduce performance use. Hope its help, have a nice day and happy creation

Hi Samu013 Thanks so so much your feedback If I remember good, I use a small part of worm image (where a few rings are visible only from the top view) and paint the model withs this, and smooth a bit. Painted in Blender texture paint mode. I not found the original texture, only the model, but if you need I try to make a video from recreate this texture. Have a nice day and happy creation 🤗

how do you make the edges white like that?
Hi Vikko47 If You think the strong edges, this is a display option in Blender. In the right corner press the small arrow next to shading view. Here turn on the shadow and the cavity option. How do you import the Blender file to Unity?
Hi DexKatsuragi, Siply just drag and drop in to project window, or copy into asset folder. Unity support the "native" blender files (in background do some concversion into library folder, but its automatic. from Unity version 21 its need to work). Only in one case drop error, if you use multiple version from Blender. example 2.x and 4.x In this case drop FBX convert error because its have compatibility problems btw Blender versions. If this happend, you need set up the default Blender version for blend files, or uninstall multiple Blender versions and use only one. Have a nice day and happy creation 😉

what is the key for "numpad" ?
Hi Nessou, sorry I not understand exactly. If You dont have numpad you can rebind keys under preferences. Numeric pad keys use for camere view. Many times better and faster editing from a preferred view. Example move the length of object from side view. This view help to dont move the object or object part to wrong direction. You can use other tricks, but many times its faster. Or numpad dot (,) focusing the editor to the selected object, so this will the rotation center point. Very usefull. Hi, is it possible to create a shader graph that's compatible with Blender's parameters? I'm having trouble correctly inputting normals and roughness. Additionally, I can't achieve realistic glass or mirror effects as I can in Blender
Hi Adrianmatiasroffe7841 Unfortunately Blender and Unity shaders are not compatible with each other. If I remember correctly, there is no addon that works properly btw the programs. If you are using an HDRP project (standard, URP, HDRP), there is a relatively good glass shader among the examples. Top menu in Unity: Window / Package Manager Here chose Package: Unity registry Find the High Definition PR package. Under the samples tab You can download the Material Samples pack. Here are a lot of predefined material. This will looks total different like Blender glass shader, but give a good starting point, how to handle in Unity. After download samples, You will found under Asset/Samples/High Definition PR / Version (your current HDPR version) / Materials In Unity version 2022.3.25f1 or above have some great glass material under HDRP 14.0.11 or above version Hope its help a bit. @@tannos2023 Exactly. There is no predefined shader that is compatible with Blender's shader parameters. That's why I think it would be good to make a shader that complements this. I have tried to add roughness by making the smoothness negative. But since I'm not an expert in this, it's too difficult for me to solve each node. Thank you very much for the answer.

at 7:56 when i try to bevel those edges it does not bend and make the cure on the edge like yours does, it only adds the lines on the faces with no curve or bend. im using blender 4.1

@@tannos2023 Not so loud that's all. In the layers how do you stop spawns on a layer do you delete the layer in the layers lists? Also I have convex colliders on my rocks but when it spawns the rocks they have no colliders.
@@firstpeoplegovernment Hi firstpeoplegovernment, When using layer mask with Vegetatin spawner Minimum Strength (MS) 0 value let spawn trees to everywhere (all layer) 1 stop spawning. 0.9 but < 1 spawn maximum trees If You add more then one layer mask, you need adjust this values. Short example You have 2 layer Grass (green) and Sand (brown) Only want spawn trees on the grass paint layer. Add the grass and sand layer to layer masks. Set the MS on grass 0.9 on sand set MS to 1. Now trees spawn only on grass layer. Here the density, mass you cant adjust very well. Better if create a new Species on the top list, and create a new tree set. On each Species set you can adjust the spawn density rate and set layers. This Vegetation Spawner tool place the objects (trees, bushes, rocks, grass) on the basic terrain object, not on the Hierarchy. The rules is the same like on terrain placed object. The complex colliders not works in this case, only the basic like box, capsule. Yepp, you can skip this step, just at end cant join togother the blade and grip. You tell right, if apply the blend modifier you can delete center point. At 19:00 I created a copy from the blade for backup, then apply for the copy the blend modifier. (maybe want more blend to the blade , its a good startiong point)

When I delete the Empty plane axes , sword gets deformed , I can't even rotate the blade.
Hi Vihaanmohanta3070 Before delete the Empty, dont forget Apply modifier to the blade (18:58). If You dont apply and delete the Empty, this will lost the shape.
