Top Gifts for Guitar Players!
With the holidays coming, I figured now would be a good time to talk about my top gifts for guitar players under $100! I wanted to quality things brand name guitar effects pedals, a good mic like a Sure SM57, quality audio interfaces like the Focusrite Scarlett Solo, etc, so no cheap $100 guitars or amps that you'll outgrow (or never like). This list is mostly directed at intermediate to professional players, but a lot stuff sits right above beginner level. What else would you suggest for quality gifts for guitar players under $100?

Our WILD Guitar Haul from Texas and Pennsylvania!
มุมมอง 13Kวันที่ผ่านมา
If you've been keeping up with the channel, you'll see we've recently been to the Mesquite Guitar Show and The Great American Guitar Show (Fall Philly Guitar Show)! We picked up a TON of guitars from vintage guitars to loads of Fender and Gibson. I was particularly looking for more affordable Gibson guitars like Les Paul Specials and Les Paul Tributes etc, but you already know I had to grab som...
Fall Philly 2024 was our BUSIEST Guitar Show!
มุมมอง 23K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
The Great American Guitar Show (Fall Philly Guitar Show) 2024 is our last guitar show of the year! My goal was to stock up on a lot of things to sell over the holidays, so I was on the hunt for some more entry level Gibson guitars like Les Paul Juniors and etc. Also brought a lot of things to trade out for new inventory. Said goodbye to a vintage Gretsch Tennessean, but got an equally cool vint...
Is the Fender Deluxe Reverb Tube Amp Still the Champ?
มุมมอง 3.6K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Today I'm doing a shoot out between the legendary Fender 65' Reissue Deluxe Reverb against the Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb! A classic tube vs solid amp state video. We love and know tube amps, but is the Tone Master version a good or better choice? We are going to shoot these out in a few scenarios and give our thoughts on each, then talk about who each is for at the end of the video. Chec...

What's the SECRET to a Successful Guitar Show? + Sneak Peek
มุมมอง 6Kหลายเดือนก่อน
What goes into exhibiting at a guitar show? Everyone does things a little different, but this is my process for keeping track of all these Gibson Les Pauls, Fender Telecasters, Boss Pedals, and the rest of the vintage guitars and MIJ Fender stuff we bring to each show. For us it takes a bit of planning ahead of time, staying organized, and having a good team. That's the short answer, but I'll b...
This Amp is Hiding a $1000 Effect!
มุมมอง 7Kหลายเดือนก่อน
If you're into music gear like I am, I’m sure you’re familiar with the vintage guitar effects pedal, the Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble (originally released in 1976). What if I told you this is exact circuit it hiding in a piece of gear, that came out in 1975? The Roland Jazz Chorus series of amplifiers have a built in bucket-brigade chorus effect, which just so happens to be the exact same circuit ...

Thank you for this my man,I’ve been to Osaka last 2000’s and so different now from when I was there…I’m in Okinawa now and I hope you can feature the music stores here..cheers..
I didn't know that. That means no weird power supply and whatever buffering capabilities to find if you just use the whole amp.... Doesn't the stand alone Roland fx need a buffering pedal ? Thanks
Am I the only one who thought it was all guitars made from mesquite wood?
Can I get pedal board
I've had a Boss CE5 since 1995 or so, but replaced it on my board with the MXR analog chorus a few years ago because it sounded more like a JC chorus to me
I wish I still had mine
I really like the dimarzio pickups. Best sound ever, anyway in my opinion. Love your videos man.
Peterson stroboclip, I think the rechargeable version came out earlier this year…
Great work touring the guitar shops around Tokyo. Love the advice and commentary, but your filming and editing sucks - slow down, you can’t really take anything in as you’re panning too fast! Sort it out for the next round 😂
My god, that sound is amazing. Total Shoegaze, Cocteau Twins, Robin Guthrie vibe. Love it. I’m sold. Thanks for doing this dive.
Nobody needs chorus effect 😅
A Fender jazz body and neck with and PJ pickups is my perfect bass, but I can't stand the hard edge on the Aerodynes.
The audio interface is a great shout, just to get some newbie guitarists to mess around with playing their guitar into their PC/Mac, or like myself, into an iPad Pro. 👍
Not probably the best way to highlight the jc amps; a piece of retro gear thats overpriced does not contribute to how good the jc 120 for example is. You can get a just-as-good chorus pedal for or under a hundred bucks. So therefore the jc:s ce-1 topography feature is more like "a hundred dollars worth of efx in ur amp" if we are being reasonable. There is lots and lots and lots of great sounding gear out there, you dont need the most iconic pieces to be reaching those lush, beautiful, rich and coloured sounds
the best gift: a new japan strat of aflashfloodofgear 👍 jaja
My pick is a metronome!! I have a Wittner Taktell, I love it! I can’t believe how under appreciated the poor little 😢 metronome is, it can make you so much better, it’s fun! A lot of bang ❗️ for your buck 🎄
It’s a stunt. Guitars are so overpriced. How can anybody afford them in today’s economy? We asked something if they closed all the toilet paper factories and these clowns got a hold of toilet paper. How much would they charge for a roll?😊
Great suggestions. The Boss pedals are something you can’t go wrong with. Also some capos, Fret Wraps/Wedges, Gear bags from D’addario, nice new pedal board, etc. The Roadie 3 Tuner is a personal fave of mine (it goes on sale for holidays and should end up around $100), which I use daily for tuning, practice, and at my workbench for restrings. It does so many things and works standalone so the app isn’t required.
Damn! I missed this again!
I have a 2016 Gibson Les Paul traditional brand new mint condition cherry burst paid $2400. From sweet water music store ..USA I wonder what it’s worth now.?
You forgot a tuner pedal! But nice recommendations!!
That's definitely recommended haha. I guess was coming at it from an intermediate to pro player so hopefully they already have some basic gear 😅
All hail the supremacy!✌️
I feel seen, thank you -Thomas
enjoyed this one good picks
Iam gonna present myself with a new set of locking tuners and a complete set of Solderless electronics. My 15 year old "what am i doing" soldering job has it's problems and some parts are not working correctly anymore (like the switch causing the signal to go out).
Some solid upgrades 🙌
Wish i would have gotten one of these back in the day..not of fan of the s.e.'s
@a flash flood of gear- are you talking new pedals or...
Yes, new! Lots of good *new* pedals for under $100 of course even more deals on the used market
As always great video! Under $100 guitar gift I'd like is a setup with strings from my local shop (we all have a guitar we'd like to have professionally set up).
@@joeandreana2645 love that!!!
I'd advise learning it yourself..it's not as hard as you might think and you get to know your guitar alot more learning I.m.o.
May I add Guitar Strings. I spend more money on string every year than any other accessory actually necessity than any other item. 99.99 Gift of string will help the annual cost and would be greatly appreciated.
One of the biggest hidden fees with playing guitars, especially when you have a few that need to be restrung 😅
@@TheBotsra We agree! Strings are a great investment and $100 of strings will get you far!
Good call..strings I use run around 20 And I restring two guitars every couple of mths so..
Or different strings the person never tried. Sometimes we are scared to waste money when we already like something, but it’s fun to get to try some different options from the same brand or a new brand. I’d love to get a gift with new types of strings. Just ask the person for their preferred string gauge and whether they tend to like coated or uncoated.
Two comments. 1 Who will want a 15yo tone master? 2 Isn't there just something about owning valve amps?
First time subscriber 🤙🏻 best guitar video on TH-cam, love attention to detail
I had a friend who switched between a Marshall JCM 800 and a Roland Jazz Chorus for his cleans. It was a cool set-up for the early 90’s. I just use a Boss Super Chorus and have it dialed it pretty sweet.
I sold a Marshall so I could buy a Jazz Chorus :)
It is STILL a cool setup.
Bandit 65 is the best SS amp period. IMO ahahaha
that silverburst les paul with the art is beautiful
So many guitar, so little hit song.
What about PJ?
I love your channel and how you take us to the guitar shows and give us the details of the instruments. But you have to lower the volume of the musuc you add to your videos. It's hard to hear and concentrate on what you are saying.
No Squier ‘51’s?!
Like your not a child now? Your what 26? My daughter is 23, still a baby. She just graduated from Berklee College of Music in. Boston. We are from Orlando. I moved with her to Boston in '21 bc she has a chronic illness.. She's a great musician. Plays 12 instruments, 40 genres. Violin and viola are her prime.
I own a Tokai tele in pink paisley exactly like the Fender version made in the same factory from 1984.
That's crazy that a Roland product is hiding inside a Roland product!
I had a Rolland JC120 way back in the day, that thing was powerful, it could get scary loud, I don’t think I ever even turned it up past 25%, I know I never went past 50%,,,,,,I can feel the Spinal Tap joke coming up,so, no, I would have never dared turn it up to 11…😵💫🥶⚡️🏴☠️👀🤓🫨🤯
Tube is definitely warmer and seems like it's not sterile like the solid state.
I liked the butterscotch Telecaster ( I had a '68 light blonde Tele). I also liked the double cutaway Les Paul. I liked the red '66 or '67 Mustang (my first electric was a Daphne blue '66 Mustang).
I sold off all my electric guitars and basses about a year ago. Metallica didn't call, and neither did Maiden, so I finally gave up. I only waited 54 years, but the wife convinced me that we needed the money so..... On the guitar side of things, I got rid of my B.C. Rich Bich 10 string, my Jackson Kelly, Washburn V and a few others. I decided to keep one of my basses just in case I got a hair up my ass and wanted to play. I wanted to keep the best one, and sold off the others. I sold the Ibanez, the Fender and the Jackson. I kept the ESP LTD (Gen 1) Tom Araya 4 string. Believe it or not, that $500 bass played better than anything else I had (and some of them were well over $1000 way back when I purchased them). Plus, it looked way cooler than anything else I had...except maybe the 10-string Bich. Point is, some companies make "budget" guitars and basses that play better than you would expect, and they have more features with better fit and finish than most of us will ever need. That's definitely the case with ESP's LTDs. I also played, and was really surprised with what Yamaha and Schecter are calling their low to mid range guitars. You can definitely find what you want, for the price you want, as long as you show some patience and do a little shopping.
Hi Alex I really enjoy your videos Right now I'm watching you in Japan awesome I have a question I have a takamine gd93ce acoustic and it's whistling I have this question for your tech I took one set of shims out should I try to put one set back in thanks
Not Philadelphia, that’s OAKs Pennsylvania
3:34 Squier Contemporary guitars are ridiculously underrated! The ones they make nowadays come with roasted maple necks, graphite nuts, and highly versatile pickups!!! 12:47 We definitely need more from non Fender and Gibson brands! It would be a cool video if you listed your favorite non-Fender/Gibson guitars or brands!
That chorus was glorious in the JC120.
Wood advice to the younger folks if you do not like how the jazz chorus sounds you can replace the speakers. It’s actually cheaper and easier than you think
