“What’s the most important thing about software development” “Logs that a human being can understand” “You’re hired”
Genius! hahaha
I feel like these interview questions/process are built by those fresh out of college Masters/PhD graduates that has only academic experience and no real world experience whatsoever! Just saying...
oh god, the PTSD is kicking in......
😂 this is funny because I experienced the exact same thing in at least 3-4 interviews recently. I worked as programmer in the last 10 years for a very big company. Most of the major code and the security updates and fixing is my everyday work. I instructed my two young padawans. My manager trusts me and I'm more or less everywhere in the team's project. Still I answered question in interviews like "what is a cursor"... bad programming, that's what it is. Company should understand who they are hiring. If you are looking for a young neo engineer to answer your theorethical question, don't even bother to call me. If you want someone that fix your legacy code in production at midnight, call me with something better than free snacks.
I am a certified Scrum Master and I approve this message
Graduated coding bootcamp late last year. Been applying ever since. Can't even get a fucking interview. Hell, can't even get a fucking email. How the fuck are you supposed to break into this industry? I feel like I've wasted thousands of dollars. Been unemployed almost a year. Fuck this
I've seen this scenarios where this only one guy know the system top to bottom and there is no documentation, the code has weird var names just to confuse new devs and make the company depend on him. After the guy is gone his legacy spoke bad things about him for years. He was like a legend but a bad one that spark resentment over that one guy and his bad intentions. I think no one should strive to work with these work ethics at all.
My wife reverses her strings always twice, just to make sure.
FrontEnd BootCamp Developers in a Nutshell
I would probably die first because id kill myself!
"do you think that the industry cares about fizzBuzz" dammmm hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Thats actually a pretty good description of a closure
Knowing a lot and forgetting a lot. Then when i solve a problem it somehow bubbles up. The magiclies in recognition of problems and their causes
got one question if need to change ui for presatshop can i do that ?
!alright
Movie Name is not Jigsaw, it is the Saw series, most likely Saw 1, 2, 3, 6 and 3D
Remember, Neo: TypeScript only shows you the functional door, but compiled Elixir’s Gradual incorporation of set-theoretic types take you all the way down the rabbit hole.
I am not good at DSA, but still interviewers reject me just because I unable to solve some leetcode problem, despite grilling me on my iOS expertise
Unionising will be our binary tree.
Ever since I was a kid I wanted to do codinf and nothing else. Now that I've learned how to fully code in Roblox, Junior Level Python and C# in Unity. I am afraid that I will never find a job and that AI will replace me. What do I do cuz I'm doing Bachelor of IT and it costs a lot too?
I blame the corporate adoption of leetcode. Sure, leetcode has nice little problems to think about and practice code with, but the mistake was when people started using it as a basis to hire people. Within a few years, people started memorizing solutions to leetcode without having solved any of them. Think about that. It creates the illusion of problem solving, because they've memorized an algorithm. Now there's a whole secret language of proving you spectate leetcode solutions. It's created this bizarre situation where knowing what the internet crowd thinks about a problem is better than being able to analyze and solve a problem. The leetcode people know these problems by name, and there's a community that shares the best solutions to each problem. Like I was watching a code guru quiz somebody like "what's the solution to the two sums problem. This one's easy". No further elaboration or anything, you either know the problem or you don't, and you either know the optimal solution or you don't.
It is Exactly like that. I've been to such interviews.
I had an offer from a CTO, then he left and the next one interviewed me as well and asked me to do exactly that - invert a binary tree. In 15 years I never had to do that at work and was rusty on the algorithm, so the guy rescinded the offer made by his predecessor. No biggie, I think people should be questioned about the work they will be doing, not on something that can be memorised by someone with no experience.
Which movie is this clip from?
Can u form the word banana with js without inserting middle nan as a string in the middle of a word?
Cant believe this shit dont have 100K+ views
inverting a binary tree cannot be done in O(log n) time in the general case
How was this made??? This is fantastic!
This is hilarious, bro... 🤣🤣
The last 2 questions are impossible to solve. Its important to at least know what's possible to implement the right things. The 1rst one is js specific so if the interview was for a web developer might be pertinent. If your app has 10000 users you should be able to make money off it, if its not and you are still looking for a job, maybe the skills you used for the app aren't all you need to make the company money. Producrion requirements change from time to time, these tests like arc agi are designed to test fundamentals. If fundamentals are strong you can learn the new thing fast
And then you will realise these were the happiest days🤣😂
This is really good. Great Job!!
Developers should understand the simple truth: these interviews are supposed to DEVALUE you as a developer, so they could lower your salary and the CEO could buy another yacht. As simple as that. None of those stoopeed questions about reversing binary tree are related to real intentions to check your skills
Read many comments and many didn't understand the important of an optimal solution on production, or just don't care at all, maybe others were taking care of that so they don't have to bother. Without fundamental knowledges you won't even know it's there. Some said it's gpt job, then how will you verify its responses? If you apply for intern or fresher, then fine, you will learn, but senior without fundamentals?
Now i understand why in Russia all interviews looks like this. It's very grotesque to see when people in real life looks like rednecks, but in office talk like they are work in wallstreet.
"we will stop everything and spend the next 15 minutes discussing it" resonated.
I still don't understand why people don't apply to startups who have never built anything yet, there are always so many Surely you get less salary, work hours are messed up and what not but it's better than being unemployed questioning why a job that says "3 years of experience required" on a company which has enough money to hire a better guy would hire you, these companies can't afford the bugs and slowdown caused by a fresher so better look for someone who can't afford to hire better devs
where are these startups bro I'm willing to volunteer I don't want money at this point
Microsoft developer Security hahhahahaha
😢😢😢
Alternativley, you could first become an IT Help Desk Support. That's the best way to break in the tech sector.
That questions are the worst. And coding challenges are sometimes not much better
Soon AI will replace all
I just used chatgpt for the stupid written exam and winged the interview 😂

Its so funny
Story point estimates always devolve into time estimates. It's the main limiting factor so it makes sense, but I wish we'd stop pretending story points are actually useful.
