Hiking Tatoosh Peak | Washington 8.2024
We hiked Tatoosh Ridge to Tatoosh Peak on 8/4/2024. This hike was hard! But totally worth it for the views and wildflowers.
The beginning of the trail is steep, but most of the elevation gain is done in the shade through a forest sprinkled with a few old growth trees. Undergrowth is sparse among the trees, but the trail is bordered by blueberries and huckleberries , and even a patch of wild strawberries. At two miles, the trail breaks free of the tree canopy into sloped open meadow. Cue the wildflowers. I felt like I was in The Sound of Music.
Once you get through this part, there is alternating views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams AND Mt. St. Helens.
Continuing to the peak you will be rewarded with amazing views of Mt. Rainier and alpine lakes. There use to be a fire lookout at this peak however all that remains is the 4 concrete ground supports.
There was a few people camping up here and the bugs were in full force despite excessive bug spray.

Cora Lake Trail | Washington State
มุมมอง 94หลายเดือนก่อน
Hiked August 4th, 2024- We started at the lower part of the Big Creek Trail #52 to access Cora Lake. It's located off FR 8420. There is a small parking area for maybe 5-6 cars along the road by the trail head. The trailhead is on the side of the road with a narrow, numbered signpost. There are no facilities of any kind, so be sure to come prepared for bathroom and trash needs. There was 4 vehic...
High Lakes Loop Trail | Mt. Rainier National Park
มุมมอง 86หลายเดือนก่อน
We hiked this trail Sunday August 4th around 5:45pm. We got into the park without a reservation since we went after 3pm. There was no line to get in and no one was checking passes at the gate. Reflection lake was CROWDED. Lots of tourists around the front view of the lake. Once we got going on the trail, there was hardly no people. I will say this was one of the most underwhelming hikes we comp...
Bench & Snow Lakes - Mt. Rainier National Park 2024
มุมมอง 156หลายเดือนก่อน
We hiked Bench & Snow Lakes in Mt. Rainier National Park on Monday, August 5, 2024. We did have a timed reservation (7:00-9:00am) which is required to enter the park between 7am-3pm. We entered at the Nisqually Park entrance and it only took about 15 minutes to get it. We started this hike at 9:50am and had the most perfect weather. This trail wasn't too crowded as there is limited parking at t...

Blanca Lake Hike | Washington | June 30, 2023
มุมมอง 631ปีที่แล้ว
One of the most striking lakes in the Wild Sky & Henry M. Jackson Wilderness. The milky blue glacier-fed lake is one of the prettiest lakes but the hardest hikes I’ve done so far. They are not exaggerating when they say rate this one “challenging/difficult”. Although it was gorgeous, it’s not on my list again to do any time soon. It is very steep along with some thirty-ish, steep switchbacks. T...
Snow Lake Trail | Washington | June 2023
มุมมอง 2.8Kปีที่แล้ว
This trail starts at the Alpental Ski Area and leads up to the incredible Snow Lake. This is becoming one of the most popular hikes in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. The route starts by climbing alongside the South Fork Snoqualmie River with Snoqualmie Mountain on your right. You’ll pass by numerous waterfalls and follow switchbacks on your way up to the destination. The journey starts at the par...
Heybrook Lookout Trail
มุมมอง 62ปีที่แล้ว
Hiked Heybrook Lookout 4-21-23 located in Washington state right off highway 2. This is a fairly short and moderately steep hike through a fern and moss covered forest to a fire lookout with great views of the nearby mountains. The trail begins in a gravel parking lot just after entering the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest . (It's actually more like a glorified shoulder off Highway 2.) The...
Mills Lake Hike | Colorado June 2022
มุมมอง 65ปีที่แล้ว
Colorado Hike Day 1: Staying in Estes Park for this hike! We were just a short drive away from the Rocky Mt National Park entrance. Completed this hike June 15, 2022. At the time, Rocky Mt National Park was requiring time slot reservations to enter ( I believe they stopped doing this now). We got into the park around 1pm. The line to get in was so long! It took a good 30-45 min to get through t...
Big Four Ice Caves Hike
มุมมอง 38ปีที่แล้ว
This is an easy walk on a gravel and boardwalk path to views of Big Four Mountain and the caves beneath the snow. The ‘caves’ are formed by melting snow, waterfalls from the above cliff and wind- they are really snow caves under an avalanche chute. The view was absolutely breathtaking and I could definitely feel the temperature difference just from the parking lot to the caves . I am sure they ...
Barlow Point Hike
มุมมอง 29ปีที่แล้ว
This hike was 2.4 miles round trip and is all uphill (800 ft gain) but the views at the top are worth it ! I nicknamed this trail ‘roots and rocks’ and also ‘switchbacks’…. Fun fact, This point housed a lookout tower from 1935 until 1964 when, ironically, it burned down. Because the surrounding forest had burned in the 1905 fire, the Barlow Point fire lookout had unobstructed views in all direc...
Wallace Falls Hike
มุมมอง 22ปีที่แล้ว
Wallace Falls State Park located right off highway 2 in the city of Gold Bar. This hike provides views of the Wallace River and the surrounding falls on a relatively low difficulty, scenic 5.6 mile round-trip. The Woody Trail is consistently gorgeous as you wind your way along the Wallace River and approach the nine dazzling falls. The elevation gain is moderate (1300 feet, most of which occurs...
Alpental [Snoqualmie Pass] WA: Day 1 | 2/22/2022
มุมมอง 1.3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
First time checking out Alpental Ski Resort in Washington state. The terrain was very steep and difficult for the most part. We didn't luck out with any fresh snow fall while we were there so conditions were a bit skied out and icey but fun regardless .

Thanks for sharing! Was this the 6000 ft. elevation gain plus 10 mile hike each way? Havasupai was my very first backpacking trip. Safe travels!

Amazing shots! It looks so different from when I attempted it last year in the snow. The snow was so deep that I couldn't finish without snowshoes, so I had to turn back. Your video has reignited my determination to go back and complete the hike!

I went there a few years ago, by far my favorite place. I had planned to go back this year but that’s all on hold now with the recent incident.

Don't need the hyper music. Stupid. Left after 30 seconds. Try something more relaxing. Just video. Comments, and just raw video.
