You're Watching the Frozen Movies Wrong.
A recent tweet by Jenny Nicholson prompted me to look at a 2020 documentary about the making of Frozen 2. This caused me to rethink the entire Frozen franchise and why it might be smarter than I initially gave it credit for.

3 Reasons Westworld Failed (But Why It's Good Anyway)
มุมมอง 1.1Kปีที่แล้ว
Westworld was a good show, but it was also a flawed show. By taking a look at the reasons it failed, I think it's a little easier to appreciate it as a whole. Also, you know... spoiler alert for the entire series. (I think the title of the video implies the series will be spoiled, but... uh... just in case.) And sorry for the spotty video quality of some of the clips from the show. Did you know...

Alf left the house many times. He also had a group of people who knew him… Jake, the psychiatrist, Jodi, the elderly people at that retirement home, Kates mom, , Wizzer, Willie’s brother… I don’t understand this criticism… of course it’s ridiculous… it’s still a great show.

"And for once, I think the German people are right." -Shawn B. Ryan, 2022, 22:20 Curious to see if the German people have a critically high rate of failure elsewhere on this channel. Jokes aside, this was a fascinating analysis with some great points. Really love how you touched on the good and the bad of everything. I feel like Alf peaked very early in S1E2. From start to finish, it's golden. Whatever the rest of the show may have been, that one episode is one of my favorite sitcom episodes from any show. Also has one of the greatest opening themes ever given to a show. First half of the show's theme is my preferred version, but the later seasons' version is also crazy good.

Commenting on this video a few years later, I’d like to say all of my reasons about why this video is pretty bad 1. you’re ripping into a sitcom that is really old and looking at through the eyes of someone who doesn’t understand it. 2. There are definitely worse picks You could’ve chosen like the Big Bang theory, for example the acting is cringe and most of the jokes are either hit or miss. As a fan of this sitcom, I respect your opinion on it, but I also wanted to critique your points

In the 60's show, wanting "to be a part of the community" was part of the charm, but now it gets a disappointing sigh? It's an odd criticism because it wrongly equates wanting to be a part of the community with conformity.

I'm European and prefer the American show. I think the British is a little boring. The house feels really cramped and not like a giant mansion and is really depressing to look at because it's all very dark and Dusty even after they renovated. All the ghosts and human characters just come together because they have to and are annoyed about this. The human characters are staying because they have to because they literally can't leave. Everything just looks sort of drap. And I think the ages at which the ghosts died is also way more interesting because I feel like in the American one they are farther apart. Like every age group is represented. I think the comedy is better in American version. Do British one has good moments too. But I prefer the American

I was obsessed with sabrina the teenage witch as a kid. But I remember seeing sabrina in a coffee shop outfit and the clock shop in the fourth season and was just like... nah. I didn't love Dreama either but there was enough there to make season 3 fun. But season 4 for me just tipped the balance into meh. I remember scrolling onto an episode of season 5 and just being super upset with how awful it had all gotten so fast! I think the writers had run into a problem of "well if she can do anything with magic, why would she have any conflicts or problems at all." So they came up with all these artificial limitations like the quiz master, the family secret etc, to try and put an artificial limit on her magic use. But yeah eventually she has to pass or fail those tests and have full magical autonomy, and then your back to the same problem as before, why would sabrina have any problems if she can just magic her way out of it. I think it would have been so much smarter to have her move to the other realm after high school and then you've got a whole swap of the premise. Now she is adjusting to using more magic and being around people who think her mortal habits are weird. I'm guessing the writers and producers also thought that, but then realized a mortal apartment and coffee shop are waaaaaayyyy cheaper to film in. The special effects budget would have been insane in the other realm, especially since CGI wasn't really ready for primetime and so much of the effects had to be practical. But I mean it's sabrina the teenage witch, not sabrina the teenage office worker who sometimes does a fancy magic trick.

Character changes did occurred in BBC's version of Ghosts, in just did not happened dramatically and forcefully like the CBS's version, but very subtle and organic that when you realized it, it'll make you wonder when the did all the characters became a tight knit and loyally loving with each others sort of family that will teared your eyes when they decide to sell the house and helped Alison with her situation.

I will never understand how most people prefer the UK version, I get we all have our preferences but it leans so hard on the comedy aspect that it actually makes it very corny. I dont dislike it but I do think the American version is better there’s much more depth there for me where the UK version is much more comedic in almost every sense.

4:19 The UK certainly has more documented history, but in my opinion the show doesn't tap into it. Robin is a caveman and the second oldest ghost is a Tudor nobleman, which is a huge gap. No one from the Celtic or Roman or Medieval periods. Yes, there are the Black Death victims, but they are side characters.

After watching both, I admit I prefer the US version. A lot of things done in UK versions would not work in the US. Remember Pam getting ‘fired’ in season one of the Office. In UK Ghosts, Julian intentionally pushes Allison out the window, for the hitting the head scene and never apologizes. US Ghosts, Trevor was just trying to learn more about his ghost power when he pushed a vase onto the floor and Sam didn’t see the vase and slips on it and falls down the stairs. Trevor’s immediately regretful about his part in her potential death.

I have a complicated relationship with this show. I think that Jenna Ortega, Luiz Guzman, and Fred Armisan perform really fresh versions of Wednesday, Gomez, and Fester respectively. I really enjoyed seeing these actors bring these characters to life. I like seeing how Wednesday reacts to the coming if age events, such as odd couple roommates and dealing with other kids. I also seem to be in the minority in thinking that Wednesday's relationship strain makes sense, due to her being at the "I'm always right" teenager age. To me, her rebeling is inevitable, since she IS Morticia's daughter. I absolutely adored Thing and every scene he was in was awesome. On the other hand, I hate the Tim Burton monster, the pilgrim resurrection, and the series' insistance on going outlandish with the monsters. I disagree a little bit with some of your analysis about the Addams' self awareness. I respect your interpretation, but I think them being self aware makes the satire that they were created for pop even more. However, adding a bunch of monsters ruins this: the Addams are, despite their quirks, intended to be grounded in reality. That's what makes them different from, say, the Munsters. What makes them an effective foil to the Leave it to Beaver crowd is that they, themselves, are normal people with a different perspective and outlook. The biggest problem with this show is that it deviates from THAT formula. Really awesone video, i really enjoyed it!
