Narcos did a brilliant job with how they wrote and portrayed Escobar. A very complex character, ruthless but with a human and very tragic side as well. If you were at the top of the biggest drug cartel the world, you have once had so many allies and then everything collapses, you end up having only enemies and ultimately as a very lonely man. Those final episodes with his dad and hiding in Medillin were amongst the best of the series, because that lonelyness he endured became very apparant. Those episodes gave a philisophical reflection about what is better in life: money and power, or simplicity and happiness, and about the results of the choices you make. He would have become a happier man if he simply had become a farmer with his dad when he was younger. But now it was all too late, there was no second chance for normal happiness.

What makes this even more interesting is the context in real life His father was a simple man, a quiet man and rather simple minded. While her mother was a teacher and therefore educated and ambitious. Pablo lived in a context of a brutal civil was on his early life and probably realized that power and money meant safety instead of education. The idea of a SIMPLE life didn't guaranteed his safety or happiness, and his father was so tiny that Pablo's mother live appart of him for years. Even his sicarios tell to his face that he was a momma's boy and he didn't mind. Pablo probably looked down on his father so much that he wasn't even angry to feel like he didn't even existed on his life

Front: At Some Point, You Will Be the NEXT PERSON on Earth to DIE. Back: Sobering thought, isn't it? You may not have realized it, but every second, two people die. What happens then? Is there a Heaven and Hell? Are you "good enough" to get to Heaven? Look at the Ten Commandments. Have you ever lied or stolen? (regardless of value) Ever looked with lust and therefore committed adultery in your heart? (see Matthew 5:28) You may see these as "no big deal" but God takes them seriously. He is Holy and said, "be Holy, for I am Holy." God sent His Son, Jesus, to live the perfect life we never could. He took God's wrath on the cross for sinners. Jesus took the punishment of His people’s sins against God, then He rose from the dead. Cry out to God for mercy, confessing and forsaking your sins. Put your trust in Jesus (rather than "good works") to save you. Read your Bible daily and obey what you read.

What is so sad is the fact that there was a time where Foster lived the perfect life; a time where someone wouldn’t get harassed for sitting on a pile of rubble, a time where men could negotiate for an ideal price for an item, a time where workers didn’t have to do unnecessary work just to meet their work quotas, a time where people weren’t constantly stuck in traffic, a time where everything was perfect.

@Bartosz Patrick Bateman and William Foster both share significant commonalities that made me draw the connection. The characters both go through similar arcs which relate to their social and economic class, with each character suffering from their respective societal stratums which serve as the catalyst for the twos progressively deteriorating mental conditions which prompts them both towards nihilistic violence in their manic search for meaning. I think your analysis of these characters Is quite shallow. For instance, yes, Bateman has mental problems but what caused them? yes, Foster lost his family but why did he? asking and answering these questions will find you more similarities than none between the seemingly incompatible characters.
