Thank you so much for making this video. My endnote doesn't show the whole library like yours at exactly 29:03 in the video instead I have to search for references one by one. Is there a way to fix this?
If it’s when trying to insert a reference in word, try typing “a” in the search box and hit enter. “a” will bring up the full list. Also, jump into endnote and make sure you have “all references” selected up the top of the bar on the right (where your groups and folders are)
@@BryterTraining Oh thank you so much this one works
But how to write essays of project report with referencing from journals which are super lengthy and answer to my essay questions specifically with referencing? what I mean to ask is how would I find exactly what I wanted from lengthy journals, I am finding it super tedious task, please help me
… …. …. Great! Just started watching - Give us some useful terminology .
Almost all of my needed references are needed membership (money) to access💀
Can you access them through your school? Either login to the library site and then search for/access the journals from the school page, or many journal sites will also have an option to access the database via your institution.
Thank you very much! It's very helpful!
Problem.with my experience is that if you don't ignore it and you speak out, the company HR and managers become worse than the site manager. Just ask Wilson Security.
Unfortunately many companies do adhere to the spirit and letter of the law. While it’s illegal for them to retaliate, it can be hard to prove. It’s worth having a calm, planned discussion with hr and if you want to proceed, unfortunately you may need to be ready to go to the fair work commission and have a bit of a battle. But being aware of your rights is the first step.
@@BryterTraining my phone is terrible with mistyping. I fixed my previous comment. I tried to do that with HR but HR and the contract manager became worse than the employees who were doing the bullying. I do have plenty of evidence. I just hope that FairWorkCommission will review it.
How do you do a keyword search on any article? Is it an app that scans the screen or a built in function (sorry if this is obvious I haven’t went to look for it yet) amazing video thank you!
For pdf’s with scanned articles you need something called ocr (optical character recognition). A lot of pdf viewers and editors will have it. For example in adobe there’s an option for “scan and ocr” so once you open the document you can convert it to text. The accuracy isn’t always amazing but you can search for good rated ones online.
Welcome back! Great video. To the point and all the useful stuff. Thanks!
@@ryanjones1765 always appreciate the support. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
You're a true Captain, thank you!
lol thank you!
Oh god, I have 4 days for my case study/business report
You can do it!! There’s also ai reference search engines like elicit but you need to double check the accuracy. Just map out the headings based on the task and rubric, add an intro and conclusion, and find some references to support any opinions or facts.
@@BryterTraining thank you for your advice. I’m looking at my school’s online library right now. Never thought of using it before😅
I think it can work for some but not for others. My profile results were so far out that it was basically worse than useless. As for self reflection it's not something I do. You have to take such tests with a pinch of salt. I dud an emotional intelligence test which said I literally had no empathy whilst my colleagues said my empathy was high.
Fair enough. I think k they have their place for some teams and reflection. It’s amazing how many people we work with who have never considered that people think differently to them!! But it’s not a science and should never be used as factual profiles. Shame it didn’t work for you though! Mine gave me a good laugh.
I did this test and the results were so inaccurate it was literally useless as a analytical tool. I had to do it for work and my boss was livid that I wouldn't share my results with my colleagues.
The trainer in me says "did you answer honestly or what you thought you should answer...and did you do it in the context of work...?" however the realist in me says that it's essentially pseudoscience and not much better than astrology (which some people also swear by). Personally I think that the real benefit is in having a framework to self reflect - so even if it's totally wrong, you can still explore why, and essentially still create a good tool to share preferences. ALSO...it's worth sharing it with someone who knows you well and (without leading them) ask their opinion. Sometimes we have some pretty significant blind spots.
Vance is repulsive and dishonest
3 years later and still incredibley useful thank you
Fantastic!! Thanks was thinking of updating it given the new AI tools available!
The last 5 years have taught me a lot about bullying my eyes have been opened in ways I never dreamed possible
I’m assuming not in a positive way? I’m always amazed at how many people don’t understand bullying, and so many companies just ignore it!
@BryterTraining I think there are many who just don't know how to start tackling it, and then there's a lot of fear around it for staff and management. Good luck with your message
Thank you so much for this video! I found it so much more useful than the official "Learn to use EndNote X9 in 6 minutes" one. Much appreciated!!
I tried this for numbers. It didn't work. Any help on search for numbers?
Hmm...It does work on mine so not sure. I found it had to be exact (ie: 10,000 rather than 10000 if thats the way it's printed in the document). Also make sure the numbers aren't saved as an image (such as on a table) since the search function won't necessarily be able to find text within an image. You can also click the "show more options" button and select "match any of the words" to see if that helps? Good luck!
Half the world population are Muslim, originally based on Christianity. All organisations are politicized in Australia. No Middle Easter race Australian is allowed to work at top positions. Accountability is not required if a British mafia controls the system. Many Middle Eastern staff have been forced to leave their jobs by their British-Australian management in WA. Racism has never stopped in Australia since the beginning. No policy or law can even reduce racism as long as British mafia groups control every sector of government in this country.
It’s definitely not perfect - I can’t comment on global government conspiracy - but I can at least help general employees know their rights and try to protect themselves where they can!
1) Can you explain your professional and educational qualifications on this subject? How does this give you the authority to advise or guide individuals? 2) Can you explain how you diagnose my needs? Explain why this training program is the best option to access these needs 3) Can you explain specifically what design elements were chosen and why? How will this lead me to a specific learning outcome? 4) How will this program lead to long term benefit and behavioral change?
All good questions - especially since organisations are paying good money (plus the poor staff have to sit through the training) so the service provider should really be able to demonstrate ROI, alignment with needs, and valid qualifications and expertise in designing and delivering the programs.
The miss gets even creepier, in its consequences, than you can imagine. I tutor handwriting (and s9metomes other things), so I had a student, and I had a new student (she was old enough to know better) tell me very firmly that I must never, ever, Ask her to look at anything or trace anything or copy anything because (she informed me) she was an auditory learner. She “needed” me, she said, to teach handwriting entirely through her ears. The student, unsurprisingly, didn’t come back for a second lesson - the only pleasant consequence of the situation was that it gave me a wonderful story to tell to advocate of “learning styles” so that I can see the stunned look on their faces when I ask them what they would suggest I should do for the next student who shows up, wants better handwriting, and declares that the lesson must be auditory-only.
Wow! That’s absurd! I see it a lot with things like “role plays” or presentations when people feel uncomfortable (or lazy!) they dig their heels in and say they are “visual learners so just need to watch other people but they don’t learn by doing it themselves!”. It’s quite interesting how these misconceptions form. Some people argue like crazy to defend their opinion! Thanks for sharing - such a great story!
Thank you so much the video really help me ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
No wonder my boss (who is blue) and I (who is yellow) would butt heads!!!
And the funnier thing is if you both “flip out” under extreme stress, you’ll be come each others colours (for the bad day profile). So yellow tends to switch to lists and detail, blue flips to yellow!
good work need more help on use of k words
Excellent - I might update the video to expand on key word search tips and using AI
Excellent! Is there a way to index all the PDFs so searching can go faster? all my PDFs are saved on a networked server and it's not the fastest, if everything was indexed it would make a search much faster.
From the tools menu in adobe, there is an option to "Index" and then you select "manage embedded index" but that only works for a particular file (but useful for REALLY long files). In Adobe pro there is an option to "create an index for a collection" which allows you to create an index file for a whole folder of PDF files. Again, click Tools and go to the "index" option, and up the top of the screen in the secondary menu, there's an option for 'Full text index with Catalog'. I'm not an expert on that one though - however you can search online for 'adobe index catalog' and you should find some resources. I think indexing can take a long time though depending on how many files there are.
@@BryterTraining Thanks! I'll poke around in there and see what I can come up with. I'd rather take a long time to index once, rather than doing it every time I need to find something. You've given me a good starting point.
Thank you so much!
Pleasure! Thank you!
Perfeito!

I’m gay, I had a ‘straight guy’ leer at me, constantly. I wanted to talk to him, he gave me a written warning, which got me sacked.
That’s terrible. You’d definitely have options to explore that - especially since they’d need to have some ongoing evidence of the issue, their approach, and the support of protected attributes. Sounds like a crap culture and management but you could explore further with the fair work commission if you were so inclined.
This happened in 2022, I wanted to have a conversation with the guy, as to why he was looking, it could’ve been for any reason. I’m not solely going to suggest that it was just sexual, even though his eyes, were very suggestive in that way. I wanted to just have chat, man to man, see what happens. I got a written warning, so not even a verbal one, it went straight to verbal. In that work place, I also had a few people under mining my work and ability to get interesting briefs from clients. So a few things at play. To this day, it still affects my mind. Haven’t been able to stake. I’m trying to. I should’ve also acted better after receiving the warning, like trying to have a conversation with the guy. But I went war path like cold silence on him. Truth be told I should have not engaging at all with said bloke. It was a messy situation, over glances, which got me sacked, with zero mediation. HR was the sister in law to the owner, the guy who was looking, knew the family and came from wealth. In the end, I should’ve also acted better and stayed away from him completely. My loss ultimately.
Human resources and WH&S are evil people only concerned about compliance and exposing employees to experimental medical procedures based only on someones opinion with zero evidence.
Sounds like there are a lot of issues there to unpack. I'll agree that some HR departments are there to minimise legal risk and there to protect the company. However I think if you drill down, there are individuals (rather than generalising a collective group) that genuinely se value and want to help. Unfortunately most organisations don't include HR as a strategic function and aren't willing to commit to improving culture, values, and accountability from the top down...which is where we see these problems occurring. All you can do is learn your rights, document everything, and work collaboratively where you can (while being ready and willing to protect yourself should the need arise also!)
I love this information. All of this was good to hear. I hope this is coming to the US. Reality here is that if we go to HR, they target the complainer as the problem, fire them via sabotage and protect the manager bully. Executives ignore the high turn over and inefficient adversarial sick culture. It IS totally a health and safety issue. We should not have to learn how to manage emotional damage done by bullies in work groups, which manifests physically as some very real and unpleasant symptoms.
I totally agree - HR should be a strategic function, with dedicated (and protected) people strategies and human centred design aspects. Sadly most HR departments are only called in for problems and to protect the business legally. There are many HR people that genuinely want to help, but they're often hamstrung by the same cultural and procedural (and ego) problems that everyone else faces. Toxicity in the workplace in my opinion has the same result (and often the same causes) as domestic violence at home. Yet we tend to protect truly damaging behaviour in the workplace. Which is why it's so important to know your worth, have a backup plan, and know your rights.
Thank you so much!! You really helped me with this video. God bless you.
Thank you!!
Colour preferences
You're very right - these are not static labels but preferences that we can flex into (or may default to) in different situations. They're a starting point for self reflection.
Informative video. The journal requires the inclusion of DOI numbers in each reference. Please make a video that how we can add doi number in each reference with single click. thankyou
Thanks - I’ll look in to it for you and will upload soon
Could you please make video on how to write Harvard style Reference in assignment
Sure. I’ll create one soon and will upload it for you.
@@BryterTraining Thank you so much, so nice of you
Thank you this was very useful! :)
Thank you!
Thank you for this video, I have almost given up on my academic writing because of referencing, I have just heard about Endnote for the very first time, this really what I need to get me on . I have subscribed and will continue to watch and share your videos, its really much needed by many, well explained. Could you send the link to download Endnote pls
Thanks so much for the feedback! The endnote program is often provided free by universities and schools so it's always best to start there. You can go to the Clarivate (endnote) website but they will only have paid versions. Check with your university first. We also have a video for Endnote 20 which you might need if you get a newer version.
How do people score yellow personality results? Do they write down they don't give a shit about anything?
lol no! My profile is actually yellow! It’s more about those who prefer a 1 to many connection rather than a 1:1 interaction. If you tend to focus more on creativity, possibility, hypotheticals and less on rules, process and structure then you tend to land on yellow. Green is more caring about individuals whereas yellow is more abstract and groups.
I mean, in terms of the questions that are asked in the test, I only remember the test asking effectively if a person was going to look for the correct answer or just move ahead without it. Maybe I am mistaken. @@BryterTraining
You guys are Gem. Can you show in details how to use Harvard style referencing please. I love how detail you are. XoXOXOXOOXOXO
Thank you!! Glad it was useful and we appreciate the feedback! I’ll put a Harvard overview together for you!
Great video! Excellent explanation!
Thank you!!!
WHY TELL THE SUBJECT THAT THEIR EYE MOVEMENT IS BEING ASSESSED? WHY OH WHY?
Because it was a demonstration. Plus ultimately it doesn’t really matter. Yes, people may become self-conscious or more conscious but in my experience since they’re largely unconscious movements it doesn’t matter. During advanced training we all obviously know that it’s being assessed and it still works.
Thank you for sharing this useful video...
You’re welcome!! Thanks!
Thank you. Great video.
Thank you!
I am not so sure if your advice is right. What are your references?
I reference the sites I use for my own research. There are of course newer sites available now, and different schools and assignments may have specific criteria. What advice specifically are you unsure of?
@@BryterTraining How do you know that your supposed to use Google Scholar or check Wikipedia for links to others references? Did you come up with that advice on your own or did you read it from someone else? Who sets the standards for what good references are anyhow?
@@kylesmithplayz8470 You're not supposed to do anything. In general you need modern, relevant, peer reviewed publications that you reference. This video is about having a starting point to find said references. You then dig deeper and take those references, read them, and put them into other databases (like your school library) to determine their validity. Fun fact - all of the sources exist and are used by millions and I didn't create them. And yes, as my video, this is my experience with my multiple degrees and own research. Use it, don't use it, the choice is always yours. Your university will often set standards on what they want, and your role as a student or researcher is to find the best data.
@@BryterTraining Yes that makes sense I find that the idea of references, however, while in some cases necessary to prove a point, can also be limiting for writers because it sometimes can encourage people to follow Ad Populum arguments or appeals to authority that simply assert that something is true based upon the premise that so-called "experts" or a majority of people believe its true. I think while referencing the work of others is very important to establish credibility as a writer I also think it's important for people to try to cultivate original thought that one can argue using one's own logic. I acknowledge, generally speaking, that your advice is good advice and I actually have come away with some helpful tips that I can utilize in my writing so I thank you. All I am trying to do is remind people that while it can be great to make arguments using the work of others, you yourself can also produce intelligent, convincing arguments simply by using your own logic instead of relying too much on referencing the work of others.
@kylesmithplayz8470 All good points - just keep in mind that we're talking about scholarly writing which is very different to an editorial or an opinion piece. You can have original thought - that's what scholarly opinion is (we have a video on that too!) however an opinion without supporting evidence would never be used as evidence or would be shot down in the peer review process. There's a bit of a saying in academia that if you can't find reputable supporting evidence to back up your 'original thoughts', then perhaps your thoughts are wrong. Lot's of people have compelling arguments and ideas - but if they're not backed by research and peer reviewed evidence, then it's not a fact. It's a hypothesis.

No need, but thanks!
Really good video , got my heart rate up , will need to watch in a few sessions , victim of Covert bullying for 18 years by two team leaders , it also develops into social bullying , I have found there are a lot of devotees ,lots of bystanders, and No upstanders , bullies enjoy schadenfreude, they spread dirt to elevate their status , passing on the dirt to some new employees during inductions or soon after if employed . The company policy has bullying and harassment on it , it may as well be toilet paper .
That sucks. On the upside, companies that have policies need to be even more careful since they have a written commitment to behavioural standards so if that fails and it goes to the fair work commission, they have even less to hide behind and the outcome for them is worse. As always, document everything, save the policies. Refer to them in discussions, and if it doesn’t improve then consider external review. Good luck!
Thank you. This is quite helpful.
Thanks!!
You dont know if references are true
Thanks for yoru comment - There's always a degree of bias in writing, and of course our understanding of topics change as people conduct more research or have more experience. That's why you always want to use peer reviewed references from quality journals - you certainly want to avoid books, websites, and un-reviewed sources where possible otherwise it's just opinion. We have a video "do your own research" which explores that.
It's good! Thanks. Your explanation is simple and effective. Congrats!
Thank you!
We are continually having Bullying and harrasment courses thrown down our throats but when we were bullied into having to participate in an experimental medical procedure to keep our jobs the bullying and threats for that by the organisation was condoned and the employees had no say.
Unfortunately I can only comment on the employment law aspects and try to encourage fair and open discussion. Sounds like a cop out, I know, but the politics of public health is outside the scope of this particular video. As much as it sucks, sometimes we just need to draw a line and find something in line with our own values if the law doesn’t work.
I was in hospitality as a chef was prone to people with addictions and alcohol abuse was bullied on a daily basis and well i wish more was done to restructure the hospitality work environment it has a long way to go this was in 2020 Melbourne if this happened a few years ago and im no longer an employee can i make a claim?
I’ve heard some terrible stories. I hope you’re in a better environment now. This is why I wanted to raise awareness and share these sorts of stories and laws. While it’s so hard to be involved in, the more knowledge and support that exists then hopefully we can change the cultures or help more people. Thanks for sharing!
