Yikes this is really bad info to be putting out. Our bearded closes his eyes, just like our kitties do, when coming up to us for head strokes and cuddles.
i've had mine for 7 years and he's around 13-14. i have a feeling he's not gonna be alive much longer. he's always very sleepy now and is having problems eating

Not sure that this applies to all dragons. My girl is pretty clear about what she doesn't like- we never force her to stay on our bodies or in our hands when she's out of her tank, and if she doesnt want to be pet or held she'll just hop away to explore. Sometimes though, she's just in the mood to snuggle up on my chest for some petting and she'll start to fall asleep. All dragons have their own quirks and personalities- if they don't like something they'll usually let you know, especially if they have the freedom to move away. It depends on context too- i can tell the difference between her closing her eyes to avoid an unwanted stimulus, versus just being content and sleepy. So just get to know your pet- please don't think that it hates you or is miserable just because it closes its eyes. Every dragon is different.
Ours is getting to the more advanced stages of cancer. I don't recall the specific name of the cancer, but it affects the orange pigmented cells (she is a "citrus" colored dragon). I'm surprised she's made it this far, as she was diagnosed and had a couple tumors removed. Until recently her appetite was great, her last appointment in August showed healthy bloodwork (considering the circumstances), but she's starting to sleep more and eat less, but doesn't appear to be in distress.
My beardie can’t use his back legs it came out of nowhere but he’s still moving around and eating his veg and worms and he gets a bath every couple of days he did get mites out of nowhere but we’ve been treating it and his brother in the other tank got them but he’s very active and also gets treated for them and eats normally
Why can't you people juat tell us why a bearded dragon is breathing heavily. Ffs
Found this because I just measured the shed of my male ball python...he's 33 inches long and just at 1 year.
Nice video but I don't like the AI generated voice that mispronounces words
My dragon just laid eggs today
This is a great guide. Thanks for sharing.
Death adders ARE venomous.
Mine just spends all her time sleeping whether it's on the hot side or the cold side. She will sometimes perk up for a few locusts. She will be 15 years old next year
I would disagree for a multitude of reasons on a few points - 1: “closing their eyes is a way of escaping the threat visually” please provide any evidence of this once so ever because this both ecologically behaviorally and evolutionarily makes no sense, secondary consumers MUST be hyper vigilant as they are both susceptible to predation and looking for food to predate on, if there is a threat of any kind what other terrestrial animal with eye lids do you know of that spots a threat and closes their eyes? It’s a very low number this is a becuase if something is a threat the prey MUST keep an eye on it to make sure it is safe or needs to run closing its eyes would almost guarantee death if we were real predators with it having no visual input to even attempt an escape remember they are both predator AND prey in the Australian outback the last thing any prey item does when it’s faced with a predator is close its eyes it just doesn’t make any sense behaviorally and evolutionarily more than likely it is a sign of comfort and if you truly disagree go do an experiment where you put bearded dragons under multiple stimuli and look at their brain and blood chemicals circulating so you can determine if they are under stress or not because I’m almost 90% sure it is a sign or comfort
Thank you for this informative video about Snakes 🐍 who give live birth.
Could you maybe show us the tail, not the head?
i don't own a chameleon but i saw it at the zoo and in 3 shows, colourblocks, happy tree friends and wolfoo
********WARNING********* The information given in this video is incorrect and can cause harm or death to your bearded dragon. I'm sure the creator of this video meant well but there is a lot of old harmful info that has been proven so yet people refuse to let go of. Science moves forward. We learn new things about these animals and we should accept these changes as we would any other medical science discoveries. The incorrect info in this video is as follows: The abssolute minimum size enclosure for a bearded dragon is 4ftx2ftx2ft or 120 gallon. I know this sounds like a lot but anything less cause a lot of mental stress that you may not see on the surface. It actually causes their brain to shrink, they get depressed amd their immune system gets compromised. You can get a 120g for almost the same price as a 50 or 60g at a chain pet store. Never ever everbkeep more than one dragon in an enclosure. Never feed a dragon more than 6 or 7 bugs a day. Anything more can cause gout. This killed my 1st dragon. The temperatures they mention here are surface temp not air temp. This can only be taken with a infrared surface thermometer. If you want to measure your dragon use a piece of string and then measure the string.
The incorrect info in this video is as follows: a basking area shouldn't be 90 some degrees. The basking temp should never be taken this way. The only way is with an infrared surface thermometer. They are under $15. The surface temp should be 105°F to a maximum of 114°F. Never ever keep any dragons in the same enclosure regardless of gender. They can get very aggressive. Bearded dragons get euthanasia daily due to cohabitation injuries.
Juveniles can only have 5 to 6 bugs once a day. Adults 5 or 6 2x a week. This is the most updated info from the world expert Dr Jonathan Howard. Giving my juvenile as much in 15 min a feeding caused him to get gout and die. Please update or remove this video this is harmful information. Another problem is it causes rapid growth. They should not reach full size until 18 to 24 months
No absolutely not you are waaaaaaaaay off. The info you are giving is old. This gave my beardie gout and killed him 😡
Do you want to save more dragons lives? Please cover juvenile gout. I don't know why bo one talks about this. It killed my 1st dragon. The old info says give them as much as they can eat in a 15 min period and this can be deadly. Yes it doesn't happen to all of them. I fed my 2nd the same way before I was told what caused the gout in Shenron my 1st beardie. Juveniles simply do not survive gout. It is possible but extremely rare and it's a terrible thing to watch over months of time. Please people don't feed your Juveniles that way. 5 appropriate sized bugs a day that's all as far as bugs go. Adults 5 or 6 bugs twice a week. Adults CAN survive gout but it's a miserable state. Also you do not know your dragon is dying unless an exotic vet tells you so or it eats a lightning bug.
Couple things here. Spending more time on the cooler side does not indicate illness. If husbandry is correct they will bask about twice a day for maybe an hour. They will return to the cool side multiple times a day from thermoregulation. If your dragon is basking all day then that is more of a concern.
Not a helpfull video. Should show the snake's tail to give viewers an idea of gender look, and not its head.
Mine choked on wood chips the supposed expert of reptiles in the pet shop recommended it to me and now here we are
The last part of this video is fine, it says the at home methods are inhumane, it let's people know a vet might offer payment plans. So the best thing would to have been to just say the at home methods are inhumane so take your animal to the vet, not explain the inhumane ways to kill them, geez.
I'm sorry You are no help you just loop the video annoying ppl are looking for easy to find answers not a looping video it reminds me of clickbait videos
BAN THIS AWFUL VIDEO WTF!!!
I just bought a 2 week chameleon and he is very dark in color does not eat. I have to feed him by hand
You should have a lot more subscribers. This video was very informative and covered the topic excellently.
"Adults only need to be fed 7-10 days". No she doesn't, this info is so wrong
I just got a bearded dragon and I am happy to have this information.
The temps can safely get in the 50’s at night. 🤦♂️ no heat at night unless you are in a freezing cold environment
Repent now and trust Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior please🥰 John 3:13 for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life!😇❤❗
Wtf do you still believe in fairy tales? Hahaha
First of all this is not the place for the JC comments
its john 3:16…
@Saylors_Stuff😂😂 hope you baby's doing better 🦎
This is a great video thank you! I just got a baby bearded dragon like a month ago he or she eats good and goes poo and pee once a day but he's very docile. I thought it was because he's a growing baby but idk now.
Mine bearded dragon is 18 years old and I think he's dying...is there any other signs of this??
The 10-20 gallons for a baby is sufficient line is harmful misinformation. At NO point in a ball pythons life is a 10 gallon sufficient. I would start with no less than a 30 gallon and keep adult males in no less than a 55 gallon terrarium (48”/120cm x 13”/32cm x 21”/53cm) and females should be kept in a 4’ x 2’ x 2’ (120 gallon) but a 75/90 gallon should be just fine for an adult female. The vertical climbing space is correct but they don’t need 3 feet of it. A foot and a half to 2 feet should be okay as they prefer to be perched if they are climbing. I have a 1 year old juvenile female in a 40 gallon that is getting put in a 55 gallon very shortly while I convert a 5 foot by 2 foot dresser into her life long enclosure
Okay I know you literally just wrote down the centimeters right there, but I'm stupid and need some clarification because I always leave more confused than anything when researching enclosure sizes (cannot comprehend gallons); The biggest enclosures I'm able to find and buy are 120cm/122cm long (unless I want a mesh screen top, which I don't). One is 120x60x80 and the other is 122x46x46. From what I gather, these measurements are either too small or the bare minimum for a ball python, am I correct in that?
My snake is actually a rat snake and hasn't eaten in 4 weeks I checked him with a vet last week not illness could it just be brumation cause he's still quite active and could it be he's just lost interest in white mice even though that's what he is use to eating.
I got a crested gecko and soon I’m gonna get a fire skink
My beardie has relocation stress and had been constantly for almost a month how can i help him
Thank you so much. He sorta has the run of the house and sometimes I don't see her for days but she always come back to me to feed her are get her water. I have stuff around my room for her. Thanks 4 sharing, I'm a new ball python owner I just had my first holding after the wait , & feeding.. All was well So thank you 4 the video 😎👍
We lost our beardie yesterday. He was 17 yrs old. I knew something was wrong 2 nights ago and had him sleep on my chest for a few hours. It breaks my heart to say goodbye to him. So many memories with him taking my kids to school with me, going to baseball games, basking in the sun together. I was mad at myself for not taking him to vet the other day. After listening to this video, I feel a little better knowing he was probably at end of his life and there wasn’t anything a vet could do. RIP Spike! You were such a good little buddy. Thanks for your companionship.
Wow! Your bearded dragon lived a long life! But, im so sorry, it’s so sad to see our animals leave us.
I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s obvious with him being so old that you took amazing care of him and did nothing wrong. 17 years old is astonishing! Rip Spike.
I think the mouse I gave was too big and it's already halfway in it's mouth is there anything I can do
This is the WORST care guide I’ve ever seen! Do not listen to this. Go to ANYONE else.
I got one from a auction and I have no idea he looks so small
Mine is about 2 months old
I don't know what's wrong with my boy hes got where he won't eat or drink and he won't poop......I took him to the vet and they suggested getting a poop sample from him, but if he can't poop how can you do that....I don't know what's up with him, I'm worried cause I've had him for two yrs now and he's been fine until recently
I’m not sure why but my 2 and a half yr old won’t eat, I’ve been doing everything the same as I always have but about 2-3 weeks ago it’s just refuses to eat no matter what I try and I’m not sure why, it’s not shedding or close to shedding either
I have been looking into it as I'm having the same thing. I have a male cor snake and he hasn't eaten in 4 weeks, tried everything. He looks interested, but then just stops. I've been reading it might be related to mating season for male corn snakes apparently.
@@Laurenelinaa It is very likely due to mating season. Males are especially likely to 'go off' their food during the early spring, they only have one thing on their minds and that's girls!
@@Laurenelinaadid they ever start eating again?
@@TtvRaslix He did, apparently male corn snakes fast during their mating season, around March -May here in the UK, he went about 7 weeks without food, and then has eaten fine ever since😊
