For coaxial helicopters ... the little toy ones. My helicopter was spinning and wouldn't take off. lt was the big gear cog for the lower blades, the one that meshes with the little cog on the motor. lt was spinning on the shaft, which meant the top blades rotated at normal speed and the lower blades where slipping causing the helicopter to spin. l pulled it apart , put a small drop of super glue on the shaft and cog and put it back together, immediately it flew perfectly. I think this happens when you crash and the motors are still spinning and it makes the cog slip on the shaft instead of breaking the teeth. Probably a good design as long as you know whats happened and how to fix it. I will try to throttle off as soon as i crash from now on. Might sound complicated but very simple fix. 20 minutes of taking your time and a tiny drop of superglue and you'll be flying again. Hope this helps somebody. happy flying
just want to thank this guy for his helpful info, i had got extremely aggravated with my 330s after replacing same piece as he did and my heli wanted to spin out of control. now, its done correctly and flying as it should............thanks!
hey there caleb, i know this video is 3 years old, but i had the same battery isseu,,,mine chipt of as well. the motor made a small cut into the battery. i have been flying the blade 230s for a while, but i was a beginner, after some flights and on the real flight simulator 9.5 i upgraded a bit. then came out the 330S,, awesome ...a bigger heli,, i have been flying now, but i had a little crash,,,not mayjor... i wanted to calibrate my 330S,,but nothing happend?? i went to the sit of horizon hobby, to check how to calibrate your 330S the only thing i saw was how to calibrate you 230S,, OK,,,,, I contacted horizon how to do it with the 330s, they said it was the same as the 230S,,,, but unfortunally nothing happend i have read all of the manual and searched all internet,,,,but really. nothing i have the RTF with the DXS transmitter,so its not progammable i was wondering how did tou calibrate your 330S on the transmitter? and also to get your swasplate level???? best regards richie
@@Richard3D-HeliPilot ok, so my manual on my 330s tells me how to do calibrate it. Look for a 1st gen 330s manual, I might be able to give you the directions later, I have to locate my manual first, it’s not that difficult to calibrate it. I now use a Spektrum NX6 transmitter helps a lot, also my local hobby store has been a huge help with setting up the transmitter.
@@calebsrccrawlers yes it does, but nothing happend,, only the servos made a noise. in the mean while i noticed that my swashplate is not level when i turn on the power i saw in your video that yours was a little bit of,,,, mine is extremely leaning forward ( i think of the crash) how can i fix this???
@@Richard3D-HeliPilot give this a try and let me know how it works, take the servo arms off the servo horns on all the servos and then, power on the helicopter re attach the servo arms and make sure the swash is level when you put the servo arms back on, also make sure it's a level surface, also the safe technology in the beginner mode will make the swash tilt even when the helicopter is sitting level and the rotor blades are still, hopefully this helps.
If my heli is spinning out of control could mean the elevator servo is not set correctly with the other 2 servos.
Good flight helicopter review, to my experience with all these helicopters is the fitting of The cowl , Tuck in the wires will help and as far as the radio goes I recommend you ditch it and get a better like an Nx8 , nx10 , I my self spent a good penny and got a radio that has lot's of potential like the Ix12 , there others that work just as good now that would be preference 😊
Same broken part, same put back error. Learned something once again!😎
Happens to everybody, hopefully you got everything back together😊.
Purchased one recently very weak tail rotor design broke very easily with light impact
I have had a 330s for a week it's junk mine showed up damaged an horizon hobbies are the worst customer service I know of an thank God I'm in the law firm they will pay
10/4 I think the 330s is a total hit or mis, either you get one that works or you get one that doesn’t mine had to back to blade to have some stuff fixed. Hopefully you get your issue solved. People in the comments get so pissed because my results are different than theirs! It’s pretty funny though.
you need a better transmitter, like NX10; Nx12, for set ups pre-loaded, for helis; planes,QX,and sail planes; Has finer tuning.
Thank you for being the 101st person to tell me that, I did get a better radio, I may have done a video on the spektrum NX6, I can’t quite remember.
If you’re really concerned about the tail boom clamp you can file down the inside of the frame so there’s more room to clamp. Don’t blame me when you start snapping belts though.Spektrum battery’s are a scam.
Ha ha ha, thank you very much for the info, I won't blame you. Yes spectrum batteries are a big scam.
I also have one. th-cam.com/video/8MrxJhv1Rv8/w-d-xo.html
the reason its on back order is beacuse evebody is ordering i have had to replace mines 3 times and also the swashplate still can get it to fly right, flys like a drunk pelican its not a great helicopter please buyer beware
You know you're late to the party, on the back order issue right? that's pretty obvious why things are back ordered!, And also that's always the risk we take as consumers, is, buyer beware with, everything. Mine did work amazingly, but now I just need parts for it. sorry if my response sounds like I am a jerk, that's not the intent.
@@calebsrccrawlers no man you are right it just has taken time to figure out if you have experience in this hobby is there any other brands of heli you recommend i know you have to replace parts but not after a few flights i do love to fly them
I broke that same piece and got it back together and it was spinning exactly as you described... did your fix and works as it should. Thanks for posting the how-to
Yes the fix did work, hopefully it works for you too.

when i flown mine it just started spin round and round?can you help plz ths mark.
This may seem like a silly question but is the tail rotor working? (Rotating).
@@calebsrccrawlers hi yes it works fine thx mark.
@@calebsrccrawlers hi again when i put right rudder in the tail motor spins faster and when i put left rudder in the tail motor stops spinning?
@@thedonnyman1 return it if you can
I busted the tail off of mine second time in the air. Should I repair it or order new parts?
Sometimes making a repair works pretty good, but it can also make things worse, how close to the canopy did it break? What I would do is use clear scotch tape and don't use a lot because too much could throw off the helicopters balance, then I would order a new one, and fly it with the repair till the new part comes in.
@@calebsrccrawlers thanks for the advice! I’ll see what I can do, but I’m afraid that I’ll make it much worse 😂. Thanks again, new SUBSCRIBER!

Thanks, those old scx10s are nice but, boy do the parts wear out rather quickly. My rc truck is on a 2016 axial scx10s frame, it's not as bad on parts as my first scx10 was. My scx10II, the parts last a lot longer, I am also learning to do 3D, flight with my RC helicopters.

I love rc helicopters, not many people are into this hobby. I really Appreciate you are still in this hobby. You have really nice helicopters my friend😉👍
Thanks, I love flying RC helicopters. Especially now that I have a spektrum NX6.
Few things, never use trim tabs on the radio with a FBL heli. The problem with the 330s and the tail belt losing up is normal with the plastic frame. The plastic frame will never get tight enough to clamp down on the boom. As far as head speed it’s normal to have a high head speed in stunt 1 or 2. If your serious about flying helis get your self a good programable radio so you can set your throttle curves to your liking witch will lower or raise your head speed.
I did get a good radio, It's a spektrum NX6 I have a video on it. I should do an update to this video. This heli is incredible with the spektrum NX6 it flies excellent now, and this video is also 7+ months old.
Nice heli you got . Just be careful with the motors . If I'm correct I have a few of the older s200 mini and most of them burned up the motors after 8 hours of fly time . Not all hours at once lol .
Thanks, but I would think Blade would have figured that out now to where the motors burning out doesn’t really happen, I will keep that in mind though. Did you see my transmitter video I uploaded last week?
Loosen the tail boom support clamp dude. Adjust the boom. Tighten the boom clamp again. Adjust the Safe mode with attitude trim dude. Nothing wrong with that helicopter. It’s a heli. If you don’t like the rpm, buy a real transmitter and use the throttle curve adjustment.
CoeShow619,I've seen almost all your heli videos, keep up the great work. And your right there is nothing wrong with it, it's all operator error. (My negligence) I understand the helicopter a lot better now. I check the tail belt tension before every flight and make adjustments to it, if it's needed. I have been debating weather or not to take this video down, because I was new to the helicopter then, I didn't understand some things when I thought I did. I am not new to RC helis I have been flying ultra micros for years. Also I did get a Real transmitter, it's a spectrum NX6, I need to finish making my video on it. It's an awesome transmitter.
very noice
perfetc
Flying nicely. Glad she's fixed .
Thanks, the other video I posted on Christmas Day the heli wasn't broken I was trying to help out a commenter to show them the right way the tail is suppose to work.
@@calebsrccrawlers I haven't seen that one yet . Last one I seen was just after the crash .
@@Portuguese-linguica oh ok, there's like two videos after the crash I think.
boy this heli hovers really nice. tell me did you do any type of adjustments out of the box with it?
Thanks, no not at first, I had a malfunction with it, like 3 months after, I got it. The main rotor blades popped off during take off, there was no loctite on the bolts that hold the rotor grips to the rotor head. And I sent it back to horizon hobby who fixed the problem and fixed a couple other things from the factory that were wrong they said. then they did a proper set up on it. And it flew great out of the box with no adjustments. But after I got it back from horizon it flew even better. The only thing you'll want to watch for is the tail belt tension just check it before each flight and make sure it's not super loose. Oil the main shaft every 15-20 flights and also oil the bearings with a drop or two of oil every like 20 flights or so. And you should be good for the most part unless you have a major catastrophic failure, like I did ha ha.
@@calebsrccrawlers thanks I really dont have alot of luck with copters. I was going to get this one but im not sure yet. Did they say what other corrections they did for you that wasnt right from the factory?
@@DronemanJoeRc yes and I was hoping you would ask, ha ha. Yeah the tail boom was on backwards and the loop for the tail belt was backwards too, and the rotor head needed to be rebuilt, And the battery telemetry wasn't working either. But The battery telemetry never worked since I got it but they fixed that. The rotor head wasn't right from the factory either. They were not specific on which rotor head parts though.
Mine spins out of control is it possible for me to email you been doing it since day one never flown properly
Sorry to say but I don't give my personal email out. Ok what I want you to do is plug in the helicopter, turn the throttle hold, so the rotor blades do not start up. Now with your hand grab hold of the tail boom and see which way the tail servo pitches the tail rotor blades. Which direction does the leading edge of the tail blades pitch?
Thank you, I was wanting to learn the fly the Heli, but I didn't want to have to work on it. It may not be for me.
If you want to learn to fly RC helicopters, and if you want to stick with Blade brand rc helicopters probably start with the Blade 70s or the Nano S if you want to learn 3D.
I have the bnf version. It flies ok, but needs a lot of trim in safe mode. The RTF versions I hear are trimmed al lot better, and the QC is more thorough
@@calebsrccrawlers I have a Blade 70, but I got the RF9.5s to learn to fly heli's before I buy one.
@@robertwren2289 the 330s RTF flies great I just got my first Spektrum computer radio on dec 25th it’s an NX6 I bound it to that radio and it flies a little better then the stock radio, how ever my 330s is kind of a later version I think it’s the second version of the 330s. The 330s is very stable in safe mode I have only tried intermediate mode once it was alright but needed a bunch of trim and my servos would glitch for some reason want to bank the heli right really hard that was with the RTF transmitter the servos do seem to be somewhat glitchy with this helicopter you’ll notice it after a couple flights, I kind of think it’s the safe mode doing its thing how ever, the next day you take the helicopter out it acts like nothing ever happened. So you will probably have to keep your hands on the sticks at all times and Not do the “Look, no hands” ha ha ha. And I also would recommend using higher C rated batteries I am using 30c and I should probably be using a minimum of 40c, The stock batteries are 30c and they get very Hot to the touch and a higher c rating would not get as hot. In the cold the 30c batteries get kind of warm but they only last 2-3 minutes when it’s 10 degrees Fahrenheit outside.
The 330 is a good helicopter buddy
Yeah it is, that's why I only have those small complaints.
Iv commented on your other video complaining about my 330s. But head speed changing is another problem Iv had over the last year. Horizon told me temps effect the electronics. And I should let it sit out before flying so the electronics adjust it hasn’t helped
I think I remember responding to your other comments, if I haven't sorry about that, The changing head speed in safe mode is a problem I had as well when my helicopter was sent back to horizon I asked them to fix that, and they did, try to see if you can send the helicopter back or take it to a hobby shop that can electronically lower the head speed. I think you have to plug the radio transmitter into a computer or hook up the heli's ESC to a computer or something to adjust it.
Don't forget to read the manual and put the boat into lipo protection mode or U will burn Ur ESC
Thanks, but This video is 3 years old, I did read my manual, but mine has an electronic manual. I have to go traxxas.com to read it. Or it just didn't have one when it came to my local hobby store.
Nice boat I got 2 of theses boats red and blue both have been upgraded bits and do 100klm per hour on 6s lipo
Tell me about it, i’m waiting for months ( s) amd yet the ETA on their web said FEBRUARY 2022 !! Booooom !! 7 months of waiting. I want to get the 360 insted , but guess what ?! OUT OF STOCK ASWELL FOR MONTHS !!! But cars , planes and boat coming out like poocorn at the theater movie. Go figure.
I originally thought I wasn't getting that helicopter till June or July, ha ha ha. Also I guess heli's aren't as popular as airplanes and cars and trucks.
Well, looks like they get the heli back in stock , finger crossed I should get it 2 weeks … Have u maiden it yet ?
Yeah, I’m having the same problem. My battery telemetry shows nothing at all. I only have the two wires on the ESC and 3 on the battery pack. I also have two wires on the telemetry sticking out in the back also. Looks identical to yours in this video but reads zero volts on the transmitter. I’ll have to give horizon a call.
Yeah I would call them and see what the deal is, worst case scenario you have to send the helicopter in to have it fixed by horizon hobby, also the more people that call and email them, the better the chance horizon will realize there's a problem and fix the issue for free, or at a discounted price. Please keep me updated with how the process goes.
Like a sucker I bought a set of these they’re garbage.
They used to be really good, batteries but the 5200 mah 3s 50c packs seem to be garbage, but their 7600 mah 75c packs seem way better. I’ve had a lot of great batteries from Eflite over the years and power hobby is great brand too, Common sense rc is a hit or miss.
Nice canopy, good to see you got her up and running 👍
Thanks yeah the heli flies like it was professionally set up.
Im sending my 330s in too. I did the software update to fix my 4 battery lights, but instead all it did was remove the governor so the next time I went to fly it over revved and did a right side blade strike on the ground! I broke the swash plate, one actuator, and now need the swash plate leveled and my blades re pitched correctly.
Ask them for a full setup on the helicopter. Also turn around time for them is like 12 days.
@@calebsrccrawlers I will, thanks. Also did your 330s have a tendency to tilt to the front right hand side when lifting off the ground?
@@colearthur8868 yes it still does that, are you in safe mode? My local hobby store said that's safe mode doing it. I have not asked blade about it.
Now I wonder what I’ve got to do to make this work?
I wonder if it might be something like updating the software in the transmitter. Try asking horizon, and explain the whole thing about it missing the third wire and the telemetry.
Blade says that you have to update the firmware on the 330a ESC to get the 4 voltage LEDs to work.
I actually found out my esc was missing the telemetry wire on the smart ESC. No idea how it Passed Q.C. with out it, I got it fixed by horizon hobby.
@@calebsrccrawlers oh Boy, I have been emailing tech support at Horizon for a week and they assured me it {the ESC} just needed to updated. So I am waiting for my programmer to come so I can do the update. Hope it works. BTW does your 330s pitch to the front left hard when taking off?
@@colearthur8868 nose in or tail in orentation? When I'm in tail in orentation it does pitch to the right some what but not enough to bank the helicopter over and cause a crash.
I have the same issue on my blade 330S rtf. In flight battery indicator isn't working and having a hard time finding the trim flight procedure. The manual refers to it but I can't find it in there.
Nice flying 👌
Im having the same problem with my 330s. The 4 green battery voltage LEDs are not working. Does anyone know why? I bought my 330s only 2 weeks ago.
I just replied to your other comment, about the those lights and the low battery warning.
I have a ix12 cannot get the tail wag out of 330 . Do u have any settings on the radio that came with it ? Thanks
Unfortunately, I don't it's a pretty basic non computer radio. Coeshow619 may be able to help you, out better then I can with tailwag, issue.
@@calebsrccrawlers thanks
I am having problems with the Battery voltage LEDs. They do not turn on to indicate a fully charged battery. Has anyone else have this prob;am with the 330s?
I have that same problem, actually, I think it only works with a spektrum G2 battery, maybe. I've tried to get it to work, but it just won't on mine.
@@calebsrccrawlers your esc’s are missing the grey telemetry wires going to the plug, I have the same issue and horizon will send you a new esc…only thing is you need to install and program it, I haven’t changed mine yet just set a 5 minute timer on my watch. It looks like a whole bad run of these esc’s since I drove 6hrs today to buy a second one…only to see it missing the wire, I had to pass unfortunately.
@@rctruxbashing7420 well that's interesting, I could've sworn mine had it, I kind of think the camera may not show it, it's kind of a crappy camera, it's the stock ipad camera. I don't have the helicopter with me, so I can't look and see, but maybe they'll catch it while it's there. It's actually at horizon hobby, due to a part failure. They are fixing it under warranty.
@@calebsrccrawlers if it had it the 4 green LEDs would be lit on the remote, I watched your video closely towards the end and yours doesn’t have it either, hopefully they catch it while it’s there so you get the telemetry for the batteries. I’ve already received my new esc I just haven’t installed it yet.
@@rctruxbashing7420 I wonder why it wouldn’t have it to begin with? I also wonder how it gets past quality control, that doesn’t make sense to me, like I said I don’t have the helicopter right here to look at it. I told the person at horizon hobby, I would rather they just send me the parts under warranty and that way I could fix the part that failed and know for sure it has loctite. Now I kind of wonder if they want it back to fix the part that failed and to check it for the third esc wire. That could probably be why they were very willing and insistent on wanting me to send it back to fix it. It was the flybarless spindle assembly that failed because there was no loctite on the two bolts that hold the rotor grips to the spindle. So during take off it got Ike 15-20 feet off the ground and the main rotor blades popped off and luckily it was only the canopy the main rotor shaft and the rotor head that got damaged. The canopy took it the worst and I had to throw that away.
When you make a mistake, you fix it.
Yeah I've been pretty lucky with this helicopter that parts haven't been on back order, It's pretty easy to fix this heli too.
Nice Caleb 🚁
Thanks
One thing I found out about putting tape on these is it will off balance the helicopter and cause it to crash .
I have never had a problem with taping the canopies what has caused me to crash with the 120s2 is if the wind picks up or my orientation is lost, Or I take my eyes off the helicopter. I just crashed my 330s because my tail belt got really loose and the tail lost it's effectiveness and the servo's were acting funny.
@@calebsrccrawlers I learned that when I lost my old 180 trying to take off from the roof of my house lol . It was under power for the weight now once it got 3" up it nosed dive straight off the roof and into the ground full speed.
@@Portuguese-linguica how heavy was the tape? Ha ha ha, It must have weighed quite a bit to make that happen or there were several layers of tape causing there to be a lot more weight on the heli, I haves taped my old 120sr as well. I flew my 330s on a 3200 mah 4 cell lipo, it’s esc is rated for 3- 4 cell Lipo’s I strapped it to the to the bottom of the heli it was balanced with it on there and flew really great with it, I logged like 6 flights with the 4 cell. Before the crash, I don’t recommend using a 4 cell of that size for 3D flight or regular flight unless you no exactly what your doing. Was your old heli a brushless or brushed?
@@calebsrccrawlers it was two 2" peaces of masking tape cause the noise was smashed . ( I stepped on body ) other than that it had never crashed before with a 2 cell 500 mah battery .
@@Portuguese-linguica huh, that is odd.
O and as far as the battery telemetry on the radio, I think it only works with g2 smart batteries
The manual doesn't specify, but I think your right, either that or I didn't reset the lights properly, the manual says you have to reset the lights after every flight I think.
