Did anyone not get any cold air from ac before replacing thermostat?
@marcgarza9072 I still got AC but could be your blend door that's broken and is stuck on the heat side. It's a super common issue
@@RCCamaro thanks I will check that as well 👍
Will this work for a 2019 camaro v6
@@ken-ul7kf yes it will! All the same motor
Awesome video, bro! Do you by chance remember the torque specs for the intake manifold bolts, thanks.
@xAeoIus I do it is 18ftlbs but there is a sequence you need to follow. Message me on IG and I can send you the photo of it
Lewis Frank Gonzalez Mark Hall Jessica
just watching through a bunch of videos right now and came across this one. i know you have/had a Overkill 91/e85 tune on your car, do you recommend for myself to get a actual dyno-tune done for my car too? i was initially tuned by will@overkill and then tracy at TRP helped finalize my tune further and set me up on e85 -- but i feel as if a dyno-tune in person will do better justice than just emailing back logs/tunes with someone states away. (what do you recommend? i currently have a ported/filled IM from jacfab & e85)
must be a very common occurrence.. i had a cylinder 2 misfire and it flooded it. CEL came on and i went ahead to verify it wasn't the Coil/Plugs so i swapped them over to C1 and the misfire stayed on C2. so process of elimination (so far) turns out to be an injector issue. pulled the C2 fuel rail, pulled off injectors and it was just black and the seals were in rough shape. my car currently has 91k miles, and we're on stock injectors. (ordered new injectors earlier, will wait until they ship/installed to see if it fixes my issue)
@Nairovirus yea I had to replace my seals twice but I think what caused it was not proper seating of the seals so they didn't form correctly when I replaced them. But the process is a bit a pain in the ass but it's very doable
@@RCCamaro i thought about just buying new seals but with the miles i have on the car, id just rather buy entirely new injectors that come with seals pre-installed and just have it 'plug-n-play'. hopefully with zero-mile injectors, i notice a bit better mpg/power now that i'm running only e85 through them.
@Nairovirus yea I'm about 87k on the original injectors and so far so good but with e85 every mpg counts but I've come to the conclusion that it will always be bad haha especially since I daily the car in e85. Honestly if the seals go out again or need to get anywhere near the injectors again I'm going to replace them. Though these should last for at least another 50-60k before they die but pushing them to the limit can cause them to wear out faster
@@RCCamaro yeah i agree, major issues occurred yesterday with the flooding/misfire for me, but i had very intermittent lost of power/rough idling/etc and chalked it up to maybe my tune was the issue, until i sent the log to tracey and he said everything was fine and that it was a mechanical issue.. lo and behold it might JUST be the injectors (hopefully)
@Nairovirus the last time it happened to me was firing my wedding and had to drive it back from Yosemite to San Diego. I babied it the whole way back but everything seemed fine from what I could see and feel.
First ran Lone Pine in my then new 1976 Cosworth twin cam Vega which just been fully prepped by Dick Guldstrand, running on Caldlwell race compound Goodyear recaps. Fun memories.
@bmepdoc9675 I never knew about this growing up but I'm sire if I did inwould have tried to go and watch the runs. It was such a great time and definitely looking forward to next years event.
Did you tune the car it before the install because the increase of air flow?
@SuperAztekwarrior I did tune the car after putting on the parts. Though I got the tune first, installed the parts, then tuned the car. It fired up with no problems
Are you from Florida?
@hiramhinojosa3876 I'm not but always more than happy to answer any questions!
I want to see how to do it, I don't want to see your face.
@nikomsrisai564 I get it, but it's hard to record and do the work especially when your doing it on your own. I get this comment often on my earlier videos but I've been working on ways to show the work. But I try my best to show what I'm going to do then review what I did. Holding a camera and turning wrenches is not easy.
Thanks for letting me know where to get the plugs for less.
@jerrodd8385 always happy to help!
How did you get e85 kid for ur v6
@MManifestOfficial there is no kit for it but you can tune for e85 without needing to change anything. Though if you are not a 1le car, i would upgrade the intake fuel pump if you plan to track the car but you can do it with the stock pump.
can we get a "hoya!"
@@gnquijada appreciate ya!
Where did you get the bolts from. The torque to yield bolts
@galil12346 those bolts came with the axle. If you need to do the same thing just make sure they come with them.
Does that harness support 24 hour parking monitoring??
@Steelr8ge the kit does not come with the parked monitoring harness but I couldn't use it due to my car being a manual. But reading the instructions and looking at the site, you can get the harness separately. This harness does not give you that option.
the grid you have is incredible! I have a Camaro too and I would like to know where you bought the grill?
@bilwoky4038 you can get it on American Muscle's website. It's not a cheap as it used to be but easy to install.
@@RCCamaroyou are the best thank you very much!!
@@bilwoky4038 my pleasure! Anytime
What bumper u got ?
@@RugratJay197 my bumper is the stock one. I upgraded the grilles. You can find them on American Muscle's site.
Bro how can I get good tune? And e85?
@daviddelacruz7496 a good tune depends on who does it. Realistically anyone could do it but finding someone who can do the LGX engine is another. For the most part, everyone is using Tracy Lewis for their remote tunes. I've heard great things and was on the Overkill tune for a while. I changed tuners because I have access to a dyno and that is much better because you can see what the car is doing and make changes then and there. To go to e85, it's easy, it's just a tune BUT, make sure you have plenty of stations because you go through it fast. Depending on what your goals are for the car, e85 isn't a massive hp improvement but if you're boosted will make tons of power. All in all I would recommend Tracy Lewis for the tuning. You can keep the car stock and run e85 but it's better to go full bolt on to get the most out of everything.
@@RCCamaro thanks , yes I’m in Long Beach area and just got 2016 Camaro rs it’s nice but tune would be nice , I’ve been looking for gearing as well , you mess with the gearing at all? Posi ?
@daviddelacruz7496 nice! These cars definitely have potential and can really be a fast car. I haven't done anything with gearing as I have a 6speed so I already have the 3.27 diff and is an LSD. People have upgraded their diff to this one or the SS but had to do a lot to get it to work. All new axles and if you have an auto retune for the trans. You will have to do that if you get the 3.27 since the auto and manual axles are different.
@@RCCamaro yeah I’m stuck at moment idk what gearing I have atm, but I’ve seen that 3.27 swap mine is auto
@daviddelacruz7496 if yours is an auto than it's the 2.77 no LSD diff. The lsd diffs only came in the 1les or manuals
Next time hold the phone at a good angle, not yourself. We’re here to see the location of the park plugs and how to remove them. Do a step 1, step 2, and step three showing us where it is and how to remove and replace. Bad video man
@GodIsCallingUs__ appreciate the feedback but it was hard to video and do the work. It's not the best though some people seemed to have liked it and saw it as useful. I try and go through the steps on how I did the work but I'm by myself when doing these. I am working on doing more step by step and better views of how I do the work. Thanks foe warching.
Hey dude so are you saying we dont have to put the foam back, because i see that i didnt place them back on this time and whoa what a big difference, but is that ok? You wasnt clear you just kind of brushed over it.
@anthonyharris2231 my bad if I didn't clarify but yes you can leave it off. It's mainly for noise anyway so you will hear the injectors more but it will help with heat also. I've had mine off since this video and it's been working perfectly.
What's the trick to getting the coil connectors off?
@jjnky127 so you need to push the red clip back and they should come off but to remove them for the first time, you need to take off the manifold and remove the foam
@@RCCamaro I have to foam out of the way. I've also pushed the red clip back, but it seems stuck on there
@jjnky127 the other option is if you have a small flat head you can put it in the opening but be very careful. Might need to wiggle it out also
@RCCamaro thanks man. That done the job
@@jjnky127 always happy to help! Feel free to reach out on IG also!
Hey good video. I have a 2016 v6 camaro and my aftermarket vland taillights hyperflash. I was going to buy a harness like you have listed, but why will it not work for aftermarket tailights? Does that mean I have to manually wire resistors into my factory harness? and do you have a wiring diagram?
Thanks for watching! I am not too sure if the harness will work or not but my thinking is that they have it sired different or is wired for RS cars but I do not have wiring diagram unfortunately I had to do a lot of testing
@@RCCamaro Okay! Thank you for the quick response!
@@AliMoses-no8on my pleasure! Anytime!
Did you end up changing the coil pack too. I saw a forum claiming GM recommends changing the coils too with the spark plugs
I didn't change them and they are working perfectly
Ty so much bro
Always happy to help!
Do you need to buy the resistor? Or is it optional
If you but the harness from Gen5 DIY, it will come with them. But if you plan to splice into the factory lines, you will need to buy them. They are pretty cheap to buy and come with splice adapters
Dont do spark plug when you engine is hot !
Did you have to tune the FPCM after putting in the new fuel pump? Because mine won’t start anymore and it’s giving a P069E code
My car started right away and the only code it threw was a low HPFP code but didn't go into limp mode. I actually drove it around for maybe 2 weeks before tuning the car. I can't find much on that code but I won't be too much help since my car is a V6 so it might be slightly different for your car.
I would double check that all the hoses were clipped in and that all the plugs are in all the way. Also before starting the car, hold the ignition button until it goes into accessory mode and see if you can hear the pump turn on.
So if u buy vland headlights they are not plug and play I got a 2.0 2016 and they don’t have the led lights they have halogen and j want the ones that look like an eyebrow with drl
Im assuming your talking about the 19+ head lights?
@@RCCamarono the ones like yours
@cactusjavk ohhhh they are the 4 light ones right? Yea I had to buy mine from a junk yard in Florida haha but these are getting super rare to find for some odd reason
@@RCCamaro I’ve found a company that sells them vland but I think I have to buy a harness since mine is a non rs
@cactusjavk ah gotcha, I'm surprised they don't have one built in. But maybe Gen5 DIY may have one
Thank you! I wish you included the intake removal. But I can probably it somewhere.
I have removed it in so many videos I figured it was redundant but I do have a few videos explaining how to take it off. But also plenty of others also.
does the 6 gen have a high pressure fuel regarlator or is the high pressure fuel pump the same thing?????REALLY NEED TO KNOW
From my understanding it only has the HPFP which I think also regulates it
I had the same problem. Got it replaced and put in. Then the next 2 or 3 days driving it start doing it again
Did you replace all of them or just the ones that went out?
@@RCCamaro just one
@daddyfaithful yea you might have to change all the seals
@@RCCamaro got it scam and said fuel injector cylinder 2. That the one I replaced
@daddyfaithful ah gotcha could be the harness or electrical. I mean if you had the same sound I had it should be the seal but I didn't get a CEL. If you replaced the injector and you still have the same code than it could be a harness issue
Is that from the 2015 v6 throttle body and manifold
It is not this is the LGX 2016+ v6 camaros
Can I get a link for the mods plz
This is where you can get the throttlebody and manifold. getoverkilled.ca/
Where did you get your headlights from? I have a 2018 non rs and im currently looking to get them swapped out
I got them from a junk yard that had them up for sale on offer up. It is going to be hard to find upgrades. But you can always check and see
You probably know this by now but if you bend the the intake pipe down you should clear the fan with no problem
I was able to get it to fit eventually haha but when I did finally upgrade to the SS Cold Air Inductions intake I had to cut a piece of the fan cover off but it wasn't too structural so it worked out perfectly.
You won't get a check engine light unless it's really cold out
I honestly can't remember if I had a check engine light but that makes sense haha
My temp gauge has been dropping to nil and I reset the computer with a code reader and it reads but especially in cold weather it struggles to get to normal temperature. I'm going to have to replace the thermostat apparently. I've reset a couple 😂 thinking it's a glitch from replacement of the battery.
Yea the reset only work for so long but once you change it out you should be good! That's a great idea while you're waiting for parts.
Got a 2017 too i changed the thermostat and the coolant temp sensor. And my car is still overheating. Fan aint working
If your fans are not turning off it could be the fuse or the fans need to be replaced. The big symptom of the thermostat or sensor is the fans saying on after the car is off. I would check the fuse first. If fuse is good it is most likely the fan. If the fan is good, could be air in the system and it needs to be burped.
FUN TIP.: NO CAR WAS EVER MADE WITH AN "EMERGENCY BRAKE " ONLY A "PARKING BRAKE"
That is true. Then again it can be used as an emergency brake in certain situations.
Did you drained the coolant first ?
I did not. Realistically you don't need to since it's so high up in the line but you can if you want to do a flush.
If you remove the metal tube above that hard to reach bolt head, the hard to reach bolt head is a straight shot, much easier and no need for a u-joint swivel. Only one bolt to remove the tube, then the tube pulls right out. It also makes it easier to remove and install the stat housing. At 10:32 the tube is the metal one with the "Y" connection.
Didn't think of that! Thanks for the tip. See I didn't want to remove more than I needed to but I'm sure that would have saved me time haha.
Great video but will a bad axels cause the rear to weave on and off the gas
Well it depends on the damage. If it's the seal, it wouldn't cause this. If it's bent it could potentially cause the rear to wobble. I would look at it and see if you can visually see any hits or if it's bent. If not then it might be suspension parts that might be bent.
@@RCCamaro thanks
No instructions just straight yap
It is very hard to show my work and film at the same time. I try my best to do bith but this video in particular you can't show both space is very tight. I didn't have help during this video so I do what I can in my step by steps.
@@RCCamaro That is fair, sorry if that sounded too harsh, my car kinda beating my ass. Quick question, after removing the air intake manifold, did you find it hard to unscrew the union bolt between the hpfp and the high pressure fuel line?, because I need to re-adjust it and I tried doing so without removing the manifold but there was not enough clearance. Do you think I would have more clearance and possibly re-adjust it with just removing the manifold?
@florevenspetithomme8866 all good man. I understand that sometimes the few videos that are up don't have much instruction. You're not the only person who has mentioned this and all my future videos try and show more. But to answer your question, honestly, you are better off removing it only because you don't want something to sit wrong and you have fuel spilling everywhere it's a pain in the ass but it's worth keeping the car from going up in flames. Best idea is to remove the hood and the cowl where windshield wipers sit. You will have plenty of room.
How long did it take for your ported manifold to come in the mail from when you ordered it? I ordered mine 2 1/2 months ago and still waiting 😅
Well I bought mine off someone so I can't give you a time but I would reach out to Tracy to follow up. I've heard it takes a while.
gonna try tmrw :-)
Awesome! Let me know if you have any questions.
Great video! Thank you for posting. Question, did you need silicone or gasket once putting it back together? Not talking about to the block, that has a gasket. I am talking about the front where the hose connects to the thermostat housing.
I saw you emailed me but will also drop my answer below this as well.
First off thanks for watching! Appriciate you taking the time but also glad it helped you out in some way. I did not use anything outside of what was provided in the box of the new thermostat and housing. It came with new bolts and gasket for the block side. If I remember correctly, there should be a gasket on the plastic 90 degree that connects to it. I didn't replace it as it was in great shape. If it's broken or was lost I would get another gasket but a putting a bead of sealant could work until you get the gasket.
@RCCamaro Thanks so much for the reply. Didn't mean to message bomb you, haha. You've been a bog help. Much thanks!
@@NickGaitanOfficial haha all good! No worries. I'm glad my reply got back to you.
One of the fastest Camaros I know on track! Keep it up!!👍🏽
You the real homie though! We need to get you back on the track!
Hey, just wanted to say. this video saved me so much time. i have a v6 A8 and had the same issue. the noise was that same as yours. I was thinking it could be because of the AFM but yours is a manual. will definitely keep this in mind for others. Code was Cylinder 2 Misfire and Fuel Bank running Lean.
Glad to hear it helped! That's what these videos are for. I didn't realize that this was a common issue. Hourly you can get it all fixed up quickly
The craziest part for me is the the bracket removal. Wish you recorded it.
Yea it's pretty hard to get too. Honestly it's such a tight space, I wouldn't have been able to get a camera back there. If I had removed the shroud above it maybe but it's a pain in the ass to get too.
what were the symptoms of this axle being damaged? how did you determine which one it was?
The axle itself wasn't bad just the boot was ripped which sent grease everywhere. The axle is still good and I just need to replace the boot and I can put it back on the car. But some symptoms could be a grinding or whining noise at the wheel not the diff. Inspecting them is also good just to check for cracks and other signs of damage.
