Good question, I think this amp sounds a little bit more organic to me while the DSL is a bit more compressed with a lot of gain.... I think that for the price its fair to have both.

I have owned an Origin 20 and you can’t that king of grind out of it without a pedal ! Come on man !

@@vicguitar1 this Origin is modded man, I modded it to sound closer to a JCM800a with some tweak... You should take a lot at Headfirst's mod

@@vicguitar1 hi Vic! Yes I did the full mod, after that I have just tuned it a little bit. Specially the bright cap. I strongly suggest you to do the full mod and after that change it a little bit to your taste. I strongly suggest you to watch all his videos because it’s not that hard as it looks, but if tou need any help feel free to reach out, I can help you if needed.

Oh nice! My Origin is 100% modded to sound more like a JCM800. But you can definitely have a killer sound on a stock unit. Enjoy your gear my friend!

Thanks for your comment! The tilt knob works similar to how a bright cap works, if you hear a muddy tone probably turning up the tilt knob will solve the problem. This amp is actually a modded one and I am still working on it. I've based my mod on Headfirst Origin Mod, you should definitely check his videos out. A tube amp usually works better with the master volume up at the sweet spot, dealing with the volume is the key to get the best tone possible from a tube amp.

I think I do have creambacks man! Thank you for your suggestions, I will look forward to do this tones for sure. About the channels, I don't really know. To be honest with you I think Marshall tried a modern tone on this DSL series, but yeah, maybe they thought about the red channel being a super hot plexi and the green channel a cleaner JCM... I think this amp sounds great considering the price. I will keep doing some tones with this little guy, I think it can help a lot of people.

Yeah if you checkout Johan Segeborn’s video “plexi on a budget” he uses this amp with bass and resonance off, gain low, and volume up with some vintage 1971 greenbacks.

​@@bradleyjpaolucci Johan is a legend hahahaha. These valve amps must be run at loud levels, I will do a video showing how the volume level changes the overall EQ. Actually this is the main reason that I've started in the IR world.

@@ZillerGuitars yeah they do have to be loud. I’m thinking of getting a Weber mini mass to attenuate for home use. Should only be $2-300. I also have Tonex which has new amp captures every day

​@@bradleyjpaolucci Tonex is a great deal! This Weber mini mass would be very helpfull. Have you seen those isolated box where you can install the speaker inside? It's a nice option as well.

Thanks for you comment. I have added a capacitor at the input signal just to reduce a bit the bass signal. I have added a resistor just to tweak the pre amp section, again, to avoid the amount of bass. It was too muddy for my taste. I will uploaded more content about this amp. This is not the configuration that I usually run it.
