I’m in Briggs senior which is 15-30 years. This is my 2nd year running in the HRKC which is Sunday mornings. Are you doing the arrive and drive? Good luck and have fun!

Check out canadianminiindy.com/canadian-mini-indy-rookie-series for all the info or look for a track close to you that has an arrive and drive league. It’s really the best way to try it out and learn how to race! The mini Indy also has a 2 day race experience with great instruction and coaching. They’re having a spring open house this weekend with some great specials.

Ya, a bit of both! The track was still pretty green from the repave at that point, but we were probably too high on the pressures nonetheless. We ended up taking out a whole bunch of camber later on in the season. Maybe even a little too much at one point.

@@blakemotorsports wish I could afford my own, not sure how much arrive and drive I'll do this coming season, but this year was pretty good, started by running 2 schedules but then Combined them to one cuz I was 3 short on both lol and had a pretty good championship day just not as good as Ryan Kilpatrick who ended up being the overall adult champion and we had some great battles all year, and throphy challenge, ended up 3rd behind Ryan and Ryan lol but again great battles and clean racing so can't complain, and I finally got the R.O.C. this year which was what I wanted most and I lost the lead with 3 to go and got er back on the last lap so that was my fave race this year

About 90kph with the current setup/gearing.

@@blakemotorsports Watched the start made comment then continued to the end ! Was expecting how I got my 1st win ! Sat in 4th and waited . There was contact and I had the better escape route than guy who was in 3rd 🤣😂 When it comes down to last lap I'm going after whatever is available at right or wrong moment !!!

@eugene4643 sometimes you’re in the right spot at the right time. Other times, you’re in the right spot at the wrong time! What did you think of the “intro”?

@@blakemotorsports It shows some good action with close racing and no carnage ! One more trip for the year . Even if a bad day Saturday still go home with a trophy ! First time in years will have raced on back to back weekends !

Hey I don’t know of any tracks that rent these karts but the arrive and drive karts are pretty quick, nothing like the family/amusement karts that are governed.

Yes this year we’re doing the HRKC which is the next level up but did the arrive and drive for the past two years.

Hey The engines are 4 stroke Briggs and Stratton LO206. The “LO” stands for Local Option and 206cc We run approximately 9hp in the senior class. The engines are sealed from the factory and heavily monitored to ensure an even playing field, but there’s other series that allow modifications and different components and I’ve heard of the running 15+hp 😵‍💫

Thankyou For The Reply I noticed the top speed is excellent for those engines, although a bit sluggish on the power at lower speeds, until it hits that certain spot in the revs, then it picks up pretty quickly. I am Thinking Of Putting A Honda 6.5 h p On one of my karts@@blakemotorsports

I think a lot of that has to do with the clutch and the way it engages. The RPM sort of flatline for a while until the kart is up to speed and it fully engages. Honda's are great engines. the arrive and drive series @canadianminiindy use them. Not sure of the spec on them though@@jonlambshead5115

I don’t mind, but I don’t really know how to answer the question. There’s a lot of variables. Just regular “maintenance” isn’t much, but then there’s chassis tuning/setup parts like hubs and axles. We’re heading there tomorrow afternoon for a practice session. If you’re around come find us.

Possibly, I normally work Saturdays and we have a HRKC race on the Sunday. Pops might be there taking so pictures and video

These are “arrive and drive” karts. Thanks!! Sometimes it’s fun and exciting to come through the field and challenge for positions. But it’s also great to take a win 🏆 The editing can get a little crazy sometimes especially when we have 8+ cameras and most are in 4K. The old PC is struggling lol. I’m sure we’ll bump into each other at the track one of these days 😁

@@blakemotorsports I'm stating rookie league next week. So this is the step up from that?

It is. I did 2 seasons of the arrive and drive and bought a used kart at the end of last season. The Briggs have a bit more power and the kart is much lighter. We may still do a few trophy races this year as they’re are still tones of fun but if you end up doing a Sunday afternoon race, come a bit early and watch some of the HRKC races.

Thanks! I think the basic layout of any track is easy to learn, but there are subtle nuances to each corner that just take practice to learn. Flags are pretty standard for any Motorsport. The biggest thing is to make sure and look for them. There’s a lot going on when you’re new, but after a few sessions you’ll be more comfortable and have more “time” to see everything around you.

We’re using a desktop app Telemetry Overlay for my lap times. The lap counter, positions and classification times are done manually.

No speedo on the kart itself. But no guessing either. The GoPro has gps and other sensors in it that collects data. With the GoPro app you can add what I think they call badges. However, we’ve use a few different desktop apps. The first is from race technology which uses the GoPro data. The latest is Telemetry Overlay, which allows us to download the data from the MyChron data system.

Do you have any videos where we're both on track that we can use? working on heat 2 right now, but I'm sure we raced each other a few more time before the end of the year.

@@blakemotorsports Kept a 15 year karting streak alive !! Have you guys used the public track also ? We did for 08 or 09 finals !!! Both finals had 2 different karts die in same spot before rejoining main track ☹️😭🏁

@@blakemotorsports I did have a chat with Trevor about it in 2021 For whatever reason things go in the toilet for finals between Hamilton and Mosport. Squeezed 10 season into 7 years 😁🏁
