Hello, can you please make a tutorial video on how to install the servo? I'm about to start but I have some questions about the orientation and I want to use the setting scale system like the real thing.❤❤🙏🙏🇹🇭
If you look back through my videos I cover all the thing in my build of the jet.
Intal Duck Can be Variable ? up top ..
not this one
Thanks for the comments, that very helpful information and the CG you mentioned I believe is about what someone else said as well.
Had the same issues with broken corners of these cheap plastic saddle tanks. Also removed the large smoke tank, as it is located far in front of the cg and the aircraft does not rotate any more if filled even with a small amount of smoke fluid. I built a 600cc smoke tank behind the right main gear. Had to move all the interieurs in the forward fuselage to the aft as much as possible to get the right cg witout adding weight in the tail! of the aircraft. My cg is now about 2cm behind factory recommendation and my 15 finally flies great. Not a good kit for the bucks. Needs lots of improvements.
The throws of all control surfaces were much too large. Had to reconfigure all linkages- which was easy on ailerons and rudders, but quite complicated for the elevators, as the servos aren‘t easily accessible.
And yeah this is not what I expected from a bvm, guess it’s really just a jet legend.
th-cam.com/video/3xqL_0G3hHs/w-d-xo.html
yeah. Those tanks are not the best. The heat from the turbine will harden and degrade the side closest to the turbine heat. Also I had the same tank poked by the fuselage. I wish CM jets or someone had fiberglass tanks
Thats what happened here the plastic seems very brittle. Got a new one coming and sent an email about having the composite tank guy make me a set
You are gonna love the way the F-15 flies! Watch out for air leaks. I had a few coming from the quick disconnect adapters for the airlines going to the air brake. I had those leak after a few flights and it was tough to track down. Also those thin airlines work ok but they tend to fail (burst open/get pinholes) in them and cause leaks. Otherwise awesome jet. And that gear controller has a feature that I love. You can disable gear up if the plane is below a certain altitude. No more accidental gear up because you randomly hit a switch. I love it!
I have heard this from a few people and I know the sell a tiny to standard 3mm airline adapter so I was thinking about putting it all and replacing it if I have leaks.
Sorry to hear about the run around with Xicoy. These are the engines of my choice and I don't want to go to Spain to order them. I can't figure out their (Gaspar's) mentality by treating you like $hit.
I'm pretty sure I know the reason and they can have it.
Love the shirt!!
Meant to say the "SU to a point"
Appreciate you’re videos, after working on my projects all day, I’ll watch your progress in the videos and it relaxes me and I’m always looking for a different way to fix a common problem with these jets or a tip I haven’t seen before, thank you for your time and effort in these videos !
Thanks, I just wish I had more builds to do. Once this one is done I will not have anything for a long time.
best position for the gear controller, it will be so easy to change things if you ever need to.
Yeah I can see the led if I dont use the programmer for air fill or if used just the display. I am much happier with this setup plus now I should need much weight. to meet cg
Nice Axe !
@@crazyaces9586 this was my a super find, only all black esp USA eclipse in the country that I could find with the all black hardware, emg and Floyd rose. Plays waaaay more than I can but will get there lol
Nice workshop :)
Thank you! Cheers!
Yeah, I consider myself a serious modeler and I have a couple large jets and I will not come close to paying $1000 for that. I made my own for less than $250.
To each their own if it was easy and cheap to make their own everyone would do it. Most people don’t even build their own models anymore. I doubt yours has the measurements on it with the measurements that include the center correction. Like I mentioned it’s a product and by the time you add in all the extra items provided you would pay the same minus a profit with your own.
Looking Great ! So much work ! 3D printed seats and or Pilot is totally worth it. are you going to do a little lighting for cockpit maybe ?
No lights on this one
Does anyone have a video of you flying ? I've seen some out there, but not of yours ?
@@crazyaces9586 possibly, Jennie alderman was at the event take pictures as usual.
like the t-shirt! Where can I get one??
@@kazama6245 I bought this on the base I work at last year
Hello, according to the manual you need both connections: SBUS output on the DLPH to SBUS2 in the gyro AND SB/R2 output in the gyro to SBUS2 input in the DLPH
I noticed this and will check it shortly I took that as one or the other.
@@pedromartin5598 okay see that’s exactly why I do this, always learn others see things I can miss! that fixed it! When I look at that I see that as two ways to connect because it doesn’t say both must be connected but it kinda make sense now since when you think about futaba a logic sometimes. No reason add two since Sbus two can do both functions, so I assumed you only needed the Sbus two port. Thanks will do an update video now!
Glad to be of help, Thank you for your videos!
Never use the DLPH2 but have used the futaba gyro been giving us a lot of problems with setup and dual rates been giving us a dead spot at the end of the stick
Wow, that's looking nice!!!
Thank you Sir!
Looks beautiful! Good luck with the project

@@crazyaces9586 thanks, trying!
Wow, Absolutely love the attention to detail!!! looks Awesome!! Wish I had the patience to do stuff like that.
Thanks, I'm my own worst enemy!
You have great helpful videos
Glad to hear it
try a diff approach to filming and uploading, seeing less views on your channel makes me depressed, lmao
The DLPH-2 is ok. It be nice if it had a integrated gyro like Powerbox! The gyro they do have GY553 is all Sbus2 no PWM out! If used with the DLPH then NO Telemetry...😥
Their gyro just connects to the DLPH via Sbus but it controls and servo connected to the DLPH-2, the DLPH has a sbus2 port telemetry like the DLPH-2
Seen it and not anything helpful for this at the moment.
I know, The Lighter Side of RC had a build series on this Aircraft. I'm unable to recall which Video in the series he worked on the Chute, but I know that would be a great resource. I tend to go there when doing some builds.
Thanks for the video, speed rpm monitoring is better because the pump delivers even if the hose is defective 🙂
If you don’t want to go the linkage route what about having a semi-flexible coupler in between the steerable wheel and the servo?
I think the you are thinking about the torque the wrong way. By you moving the wheel it is indeed creating leverage on the servo spline. But that is not the way it will operate in reality. The spline will power the leg to turn. The rolling wheel would have less pushback. The maximum strain on the servo would be when it is stopped or very slow taxi. You should have the specifications of the stall current of the servo. Measure the current it uses to turn the wheel when stopped and the full weight is on the front wheel. Compare that with the stall current of the servo. If it's less than 60% then you should be fine with lots of headroom. p.s. I am enjoying the build series, love your channel.
My Issue is being able to back drive the servo without really much force. The specs they list on the box are typically derived from testing with a 1 inch servo arm. I did some digging the servo the factory uses is only like 600oz so with mine being 900+ I should be good.
@@Dragonrc. Yep you should be fine. 😉
Big Stabs, I did balance my stabs on the F18.
thanks, nice to see the thought process behind another builder’s repairs.
Thanks, I did that at the front and one point on rear just to be safe I can soak those areas in ca remover to free it.
I'd even use a 3 or 4 tacks of CA for the elevator control link cover, it can still be removed, probably will affect the paint but it will hidden under the cover. .
Dang , skymaster ?
Yeah
Hi mate, really enjoying the build. What and where can you buy that small drill you showed ?
I bought that years ago, I think from a local hobby shop. I searched online and cant seem to find anything like mine.
Great Planes Dead Center Engine Mount Hole Locator Item No.GPMR8130, Tower Hobbies has it.
@@hammetttech8794 Thanks so much. I have ordered one :)
@@craiglaird3752 well there you go, I searched there and it never came up. Never used it for engine mounting but constantly for everything else.
Solid gear, nice. similar to the F18, very strong. They have massively improved with gear and other things.
I was thinking about this last night, it just seems to be the model. Some models are done right in ref to fitting of parts and design. Other not so much, it really depends on the jet. MY F-18 was a turd, the Viper XXL was better but had loose poorly fitting parts. This one better fitting parts, has the paint issues though. Then there is still the usual every model being different in quality.
Looking forward to this Skymaster build.
Dragon R/C, like it 😛
I have to stop showing myself when I need to shave! Damn looking old.
🤣🤣🤣
Good to see Futaba still hasn't straightened out the nomenclature issues on telemetry lol.
LOL nope
hey!!! greetings, i whas at kentucky jets, and me and my pal was sitted next to the minion viper jet, Banana!!!!😁 saludos desde mexico
I remember, thanks for coming!
If not this weekend at my local definitely at GA Jets in October
I love that blue it really sticks out on camera.
@@crazyaces9586 thanks, I picked the same scheme as my smaller one because these colors looked really good in the air and it’s perfect for the yellow minions 😂
@Dragonrc. love those minions too ! Are you flying it again soon ?
What is the clear tubing coming from the main tank? Looks very flexible. Name change on channel?
@@101sabre Hi Sabre, that’s the 8mm tubing BVM sells it’s much more flexible than most and doesn’t kink. Yeah, been meaning to change name for years now. I try to do things with meaning, the fenderbean thing was a funny thing that stuck when runryder came about. It just stuck and the “Dragon” relates more to my time in the military and some deeper meaning. Has a nice sound to Va what everyone calls me on the net and at events 🤣 that being said I’m good with what folks like 👍🏻
Which brand of valve is giving you the problem? My pal's A-10 collapsed for it's second flight when powering up with the gear switch in the down position and broke the horizontal stab. It was a good event this year. Your Micro was a good deal for whoever bought it.. Just curious, how big is your shop?
@@afterburner666 it’s the hi flow jettronics valve.
Looking forward to seeing the maiden. I maidened my carf viper yesterday. The weather has been great.
Cool deal, I can't make it till Wed due to work and I know there is some rain in the forecast but fingers crossed. I hope this one is uneventful. I really miss my smaller one for a nice relaxed flying jet.
Thanks, didn’t even notice that
Having trouble with the stick change from Mode1 to mode2, easy to change in the computer but not turning the screws in the back,,, must be doing something wrong.
