I think that the white stripes wouldn't be as popular if it werent for the strokes, at least partially. Want proof? White blood cells album, which was released weeks before is this it, saw improved charting but it wasn't enough to break into the mainstream, whereas is this it was popular before they even release it. It wasnt until they rerelease it the following year that they became popular, thanks to fell in love with a girl. Without the strokes the white stripes wouldnt be as popular
