      Hi There, thanks for watching my video and bringing a good question to my attention. I'm not sure if there is a single DIN version, although you could search the www.japanparts.com website and see what is available. Could you still use a double DIN dash pod but use half for a stereo and half for something else? The original location of the radio is now being used for accessory switches for lights and UHF radio etc. I also 3D printed a tray under the switches to put my mobile phone in. It is still a work in progress.

    • @pinzone4358
      @pinzone4358 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a good question. The two plastic components don't need screws, they push or click into place. The metal brackets needed screws to mount into position. From memory I used larger gauge self tapping screws in the two front bracket holes. I had some already in my garage. The rear holes were a bit more tricky because the holes were larger and I needed something for the screws to attach to. I used some clips behind the hole for the screws to screw into. I must have purchased them from an automotive parts accessory store. I am in Perth Australia and we have stores such as Supercheap, Repco, Veals, etc. I hope this was of help for your own project. Good luck and happy driving. 😊

    For what it’s worth you can actually clock the dial to read zero at exactly 12 o’clock. I think with this particular model you have to remove the bezel lock and push a pin through the hole to take tension off a spring bar that will disengage the pinion so that you can set the caliper to where the needle points north and close them without the dial moving.

    • @pinzone4358
      @pinzone4358 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for watching and thanks for asking the question. I did have some frustration with the self tapping screws and even stabbed myself a few times trying to hold the clip in place while I inserted the rear screws. The rear screws needed a clip to give the screws something to thread into and tighten, they might have been a #6 or #8 gauge. I think the front screws were a bigger gauge, maybe #10 but could have been a larger gauge. I used what I already had in my garage without buying extra screws. A good automotive parts/accessory store should have them. I need to do an update with my new double din head unit installed. I've moved house twice in the last few months and have been flat out.

      Thanks for your comments. I wanted to keep everything tidy and have the new auxiliary fuse box close to the original one under the hood. There were some units available with more circuits but I went for six circuits. I did discover on the internet later there are also combined fuse and relay units available, although I wouldn't necessarily require a relay for every accessory I add. Later I might want to have a heavier 12v feed to the rear compartment than the existing one but I'll have a think about that when the time comes.

    Nice one! I’m a culprit for neglecting these so it’s a good reminder for me to change mine

    Nice work! I’ve subscribed and will follow the build, and maybe once the virus has passed and restrictions have lifted we can do a little collaboration

    What amazes me is that all the cars were left unlocked! Go figure! Great security - not! How long did you end up waiting?

      About 40 minutes.

      about 45 minutes in total. You would think they should have a process for checking if people are hiding in the cars waiting for them to close. Where is their duty of care?
