Costa Rica Waterfall Rappelling Arenal Volcano - Full Version- 5 Rappels #CostaRica
Our 2 week Costa Rica trip included a day of Rappelling and zipling with Maquique Adventure Canyoning (Highly Recommended, not a paid promotion) www.maquiqueadventure.com/ located just outside the town of La Fortuna in the Arenal area, Alajuela Province of Costa Rica. There was a nice hike (not too long) and 5 Rappels, 3 with waterfalls and 2 Ziplines, all were great and the scenery was incredible. This was Cindy's first time Rappelling, the guides (Gustavo and Luis) were helpful and fun. they made it easy and safe. We would not only highly recommend them, as it was a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica, but we also recommend water shoes for this, not running / tennis shoes as you will be in water, but you can do it in running / tennis shoes, they will just need to dry out later! Bring a change of clothes, they have lockers and place to change. At the end of the event you go to a local nearby Soda for lunch, with typical Cosa Rican food that was great! All the way around this was a great adventure and we would do it again! Loved it, hope you enjoy the video and please subscribe and help us make more videos! Also, if you have gone to Costa Rica please put your favorite adventure that you enjoyed in Costa Rica in the comments below!

Beaufort, NC and Shackleford Banks Horses

The wild horses are beautiful animals who descended from Spanish shipwrecks around the 1500s and have been on the banks ever since. We rent kayaks from our friends at Beaufort Paddle (www.beaufortpaddle.com/) to locate these wild horses. Beaufort is a small historic town alon...

    I’m going to go next month! What shoes do you recommend for this?

      Oh shoot, I am guessing you already went and hope you had a great time! We had regular running shoes, doable, but after they took forever to dry out. So shoes that are ok for hiking and have holes in them to drain water so hiking and water shoes, I did a search and there are quite a few, but I haven't tried them so not sure which are best. We did rent neoprene Nike shoes to wade through the Narrows hike in Zion National Park and those were great, our feet were underwater almost the entire time. Regular drug store type water shoes probably not good enough for the hiking part, running shoes better than those, just have to deal with them being wet for awhile :). Hope you had a great time!!

    We found a 1905 coke bottle on Shackleford, near the cemetery. Funny thing is it was bottled in New Bern, home of Pepsi.

      Really fun, it took about 2 - 2.5 hours followed by another hour for lunch at a nearby Costa Rican Soda that was also a good experience.

    They are not ponies and they are not at Shackleford. It’s Carrot Island OK I’ll redeem you ? The Rhum Bar Owners are my neighbors. Trace and Don are the greatest. Yeah they have amazing chowder. My fav is across the bridge in MHC

      Yes they are and yes it is, I hope by the Title and the captions and the description calling them Horses it is clear to viewers they are horses although many call them ponies due to their stature, including many locals when I lived there, although they knew they are in fact horses who have a stature in hands that would fit in the pony category but are from Spanish horse breeds. Yes, the actual bank that is Shackleford itself is further out and not an easy place in which to paddle, when I lived there and had a sailboat I sailed to Shackleford a number of times. For those who do sail I highly highly recommend watching the tides carefully, there is a large tidal difference in these parts and you could easily find your boat aground in low tide and the high tides of the day are not equally high, have seen it many times...best to get a low draft boat if you are going to Shackleford, although it is much easier to see the horses at Carrot Island, same horses, easier to see :)

    Ft Macon is not a Civil war fort. It was antebellum.

    • @realworldadventures7830
      @realworldadventures7830 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, constructed in the antebellum period, its first major military event was in the Civil War. For more information for those looking into the details there is a lot out there on the Fort. It was also used in WWII to attempt to spot German submarines.

    There are no ponies on any of the islands there. Every one of them is a actual horse.
