Look very interesting, excited to see some gameplay!
glad you got a tutorial for dummies like me
Hi! how easy is it to play solitaire?
Hi Karsten, the game is fairly Solo Friendly as I gave it an 8 or 9 for a solo rating - play alternates back and forth and given the method of unit activation it ends up working fairly well solo in my humble opinion.
How long does the game take, approximately?
It depends on how familiar the players are with the rules, if both players are knowledgeable probably 30-90 minutes - when learning the game I would say maybe 2-3 hours.
I have mixed feelings about this. Part of me wants to play ... and part of me thinks it is too soon.
Hi Mike - I talk a lot about this in my designer notes, and ultimately I understand why some people may feel that way, but ultimately I think it is a misnomer to assume that there is an expiration date to conflict. Nearly 90% of the hobby takes place during the holocaust and I would assume that for survivors, seeing players move black counters with skulls around would probably be pretty grating. I was proud that with pre-orders, we were able to donate 375$ to Tip of the Spear Landmine removal in the region. While I ultimately respect and understand why people may not want to engage with this title, I would encourage others to think about the ways slavery and the holocaust are portrayed, if at all, in other games.
Looks interesting.
👍👍
Hello! Thanks for the preview...looks like an interesting game (as do others on featured on the channel). Do you/have you considered making PnP versions available? I don't know how much work this would be for you but it'd certainly help those of us living outside the US get access to the games.
Hey there, you can find the PnP versions at wargame vault
@@raymondweiss2707 Fantastic! They are listed under Blue Panther rather than CSL...I'm easily confused lol . Thanks
@@DiagonalMove ah, that's because they are our printer and manage our p and p shop. Thanks for checking it out!
A question from counters AGS. I've counter with no red nummer for ZOI capable, armor o mec units. But these units haven a circle for all nummers and otan symbol. Is the same than de red nummer for ZOI? Why these unis are not the same than the others from AGN and AGC? Thanks
I'm not 100% sure if I understand your question but it sounds like that the print and play company may have an old version of the counters, double check board game geek and if so I can send you the correct ones via email.
@@raymondweiss2707 The two sets AGN and AGC have movement numbers in red on white indicating that they are capable of exercising ZOI. In AGS they do not have these numbers, they are like the rest, and the units that can theoretically exercise ZOI (armored, mechanized units). They have a ring around all values and a unit symbol in the style of some GMT game units. Yesterday I wrote to the email that you told me about the deluxe rules, which I can't quite understand if they clarify something else about the game.
@@JUKspn Like I said above, it sounds like the print and play company has an older version of the counters. The deluxe rules just combine the rulesets together in one package, and provide some tools making the game easier to play like force charts and markers, more step loss counters along with railhead counters.
@@raymondweiss2707 Ok. The company sells the old counters from the AGS game. Fantastic.
@@JUKspn I'll let my printer know as I believe he runs the print and play shop, CSL otherwise has no control over it unfortunately. If you shoot me another email I can email you the correct counters.
Recently acquired the PNP version of the complete trilogy (the physical edition that I was looking for above all by the counters) is too expensive here. Reading the rules while building the game. Nice map and counters but maybe a little big for the hexes on the map. My recommendation for printing in the European metric system, 94% map in A4 (except having legal paper) and counters at 90%. Somewhat small but more manageable on the map. I also recommend making additional 11x11mm casualty markers in an excel as well as grouping and stacking replacement markers. Greetings
Double check for the P&P edition of the deluxe rules, they should include force charts and other things to make playing the game more enjoyable.
@@raymondweiss2707 I've not deluxe rules. What haven?? And other things... I dont known. 🤔
@@JUKspn I'm not sure if our printer offers it on the PNP store, shoot me an email through the CSL site and ill email you the materials so you can make your own.
@@raymondweiss2707 Done!! Thanks!!
Hi, looks really interesting. Does it have a solo variant or is it 'solo' friendly?
No solo variant but its fairly solo friendly!
I publish stuff myself too! Civil Power was available through my BTR Games imprint before Ray picked it up for this classy revision and new edition. brtrain.wordpress.com/btr-games/
Looks good. Lose the Cigs, you'll live to publish more games.
Last I read actually smoking helps to beef up the receptors vulnerable to C-19 so who knows! But yeah, I hate it, its a miserable habit. Admittedly I only do it when I run out of other stuff to smoke ;)

Wrt. the "balance" of this war. This was a very complex political situation with roots going all the way back to the middle ages and a lot of naive and/or arrogant Danish politicians. It's almost impossible to simulate alternative history for this from a purely military point of view at the day the war started.
Great point Peter. It was a difficult game to balance also in terms of victory conditions while giving the Danish a fighting chance. From what I understand, they used naval transport effectively in the first iteration of this war. Also, this is why the intervening Swedes rule is optional :)
@@raymondweiss2707 Yes... In the 1st Slesvig war usage of the navy proved operationally important. But I think the success of that war also made some parts of the Danish political environment believe they were invincible. - leading to grave mistakes in the second. It's always easier with hindsight, but the two Duchies of Holstein and Slesvig have been playing pieces in politics of the region since the 13th century and the Treaty of Ribe probably was a big mistake: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schleswig-Holstein_Question#Treaty_of_Ribe It played a part in preventing the natural obvious solution that Slesvig was Danish and Holstein was German. ... and that culminated in the war in 1864, only to be resolved in 1920, but after a heavy handed germanisation process of Slesvig.
Good video as a starter and I hope you will create more short examples for this new series.
How can I get my hands on this ? Cant find it anywhere and want to play it so badly
Hi Max, the shop page is here, you can download the rules and vassal module to try before you buy as well, thank you for checking it out! www.consimsltd.com/shop
Thanks for the quick answer ! As beeing Danish myself I really enjoy your work ! I have experience in c#,c++,Java and Python is there anyway I could help in further development ? Thanks in advance
Love the look of your games, Ray. Classic wargame style, but with contemporary polish and flair. Looking forward to picking one up to see how they play!
Thank you so much, Simon! I appreciate that!
This one is better than your videos where it's basically the games in Vassal. It's nice to see the components even if not final.
Thank you, Daniel! I appreciate you checking them out.
very nice great job
Thank you, Charles!
Great preview! I find the PCS chit-pull system very interesting, although I haven't played any of the games yet, but they are on my to-do list so to say. I could imagine they would work great in solitaire. Wondering whether you have thought about an AI for the system. Have you?
Thank you! The system I think works fairly well intuitively for solo as it's difficult to plan but I haven't gone about figuring out an AI yet, to design one of those at some point is also on my list though 🙂
The map looks good and appears very functional!
Hi Ray. Thx for making a game on this war! One Q - how many/ which units does each side start with? I might have missed it in the rules? Thx for answering.
Hi Stefan, I don't have the rulebook in front of me, but I believe everything starts with everything except for the Swedish. Check out the game page on board game geek as well for some errata on starting supply depots as well :)
Raymond Weiss thank you👍🏻👍🏻 We will let you know how we fare - we are gonna play it at the Danish Officer School at Frederiksberg Castle. Great setting for this eh🤠
Please please please take photos and post to board game geek or wherever, I'd very much appreciate it. Also, it would be possible to make a deluxe version for you guys, reach me through the contact link on the page.
Raymond Weiss cool! I’ll drop you a mail next week. We have been thinking about doing a video about it🤓
